Job description

Saferworld is an independent international organisation working to prevent violent conflict and build safer lives.

Saferworld’s communications underpin our reputation and profile as a source of expertise on peace-centred peace and security issues, based on our programme evidence, impact and expert analysis. The primary purpose of the communications team is to lead, facilitate and support collaborative efforts across the organisation to reinforce Saferworld’s standing as a centre of expertise on peace, gender and security issues required to realise Saferworld’s goals outlined in the organisational strategy. We achieve this through producing high quality, relevant and timely communications that are coordinated across our different geographic and thematic priorities and delivered via our communications platforms.

The Communication Coordinator will support the effective delivery of Saferworld’s communications and branding. Working closely with colleagues across Saferworld and partners, the role will lead on promoting an ethical approach to Saferworld’s communications, producing stories of change from our projects, on photography and videos. They will also lead on branding and design within Saferworld. A key aim of the communication coordinator is to lead the development of our audio-visual work, upholding our house style and to develop our story-led content.

This position is an exciting opportunity for a communications specialist to play a role in developing Saferworld’s story-led content, bringing the voices from communities and partners we work with to the fore. The post-holder will contribute learning generated in producing story-led or audio-visual content throughout the organisation to develop the communications strategy.
