Based in Surrey, the Orpheus Centre is an independent specialist college and charity that focuses on developing independence skills through performing and visual arts and makes dramatic improvements to young disabled adults’ lives.  We are currently looking for a driven and pro-active Events Fundraiser to develop, coordinate and deliver the charity’s fundraising events and orchestrate experiences from initial concept to post event analysis. This includes pre-event planning and development, concept development and proposal.

Working closely with the Head of Capital Appeal and Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager, you will design and deliver events which steward and develop key contacts as part of our Capital Appeal.

The role holder will have strong administration skills, attention to detail and work as part of a team.  You will be self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, managing a wide range of tasks.

35 hours per week / 52 weeks per year

Salary: £28,000 - 32,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Essential qualifications, knowledge and experience:

• 5 GCSEs (Grade C or above) or equivalent including Maths and English OR demonstrable literacy and numeracy

• At least 2yrs experience of fundraising, marketing or events in a paid or voluntary capacity
• Has worked as part of a team

Key Tasks

• To ensure that Poverty Truth Commissioners are at the heart of the Network’s parliamentary engagement
• To develop and, where appropriate, establish links with UK and devolved Parliaments and governments to promote the work of the Network 
• To coordinate and help to deliver parliamentary events on behalf of the Network, including mapping topics and attendees, working with other partners as appropriate 
• To support the development of effective links with Combined Authorities and other devolved administrations
• To work closely with members of the Amplify Team to promote its groups proposals for change
• To support parliamentary engagement, including through written briefings, for the Network’s other national programmes, including Economics for All

Our Radcliffe-based centre is at the heart of Blue Cross’s work in Greater Manchester, providing vital services in a creative, community-focused way. We don’t have kennels or catteries on site, so we think differently to help pets and their people, from running a busy food bank to delivering rehoming and support services for a variety of animals. 

As Assistant Manager – Client Services, you’ll be at the forefront of this work. You’ll: 

• Lead the client services team to deliver exceptional care from first enquiry through to adoption or other support 
• Work closely with the team to assess and admit pets, match them with the right adopters, and guide clients through every step of their journey 
• Use data and insights to shape services and continuously improve client experience

About the opportunity

We are now recruiting for a Programme Coordinator for our schools in Newcastle.

• The Newcastle Programme Coordinator oversees a caseload of up to seven partner schools. They manage the logistics and organisation of each school’s tutoring programme, working closely with the schools and pupils and managing the pool of volunteer tutors. They attend the weekly tutoring sessions at each school, as well as overseeing the quality of face to face and online tutoring, always working to deliver a great impact.
• The Newcastle Programme Coordinator supports the recruitment of volunteer tutors, manages the tutor sign up process, develops relationships with schools including their Senior Leadership Team and subject teachers, collects data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, and works with other internal teams on business development opportunities.

Duties and responsibilities
 

• Responsible for the delivery of Action Tutoring’s tutoring programmes in partner schools, whether online or face to face. This includes working closely to manage all key stakeholders: schools, pupils and volunteer tutors; regularly attending weekly tutoring sessions; leading on reviewing and improving programme delivery, using data to reliably assess programme performance.
• Responsible for overseeing the quality of tutoring, engaging in quality assurance processes, and providing feedback to volunteer tutors to ensure effective and impactful delivery. Provide regular check-ins with tutors to ensure ample support and guidance is given to provide targeted tuition to pupils.
• Develop and strengthen relationships with key stakeholders in partner schools, including members of the Senior Leadership Team and subject teachers. Maintain clear and timely communication with relevant school staff, offering regular check-ins with key school stakeholders, and contribute to impact reporting to schools. Supporting the Programme Manager with strategies to retain and sustain school partnerships.
• Update and accurately maintain Action Tutoring’s database, including collecting timely data for monitoring and evaluation purposes, such as attendance records, baseline and interim assessments and pupil surveys. Reporting regularly on key performance indicators to key stakeholders and using them to enhance programme delivery. Work with the Programme Manager on business development, approaching new schools that might be interested in working with Action Tutoring.
• Proactively report to the Programme Manager on the details of Action Tutoring’s operations in their partner schools.

As part of a small team you will be working closely with and under the direction of the Head of Individual Giving.

Key Responsibilities:

• To project manage multiple appeals delivering accurate campaigns on time, on budget to a high standard, meeting agreed targets.
• Analyse and interpret direct marketing campaign results, and produce regular reports, drawing conclusions, completing campaign reviews and making recommendations to improve future activity such as targeting and testing suggestions to improve performance of the programme and feed into longer term strategic plans.
• Ensure all materials produced are accurate and compliant with relevant data protection and gift aid legislation (where applicable). Undertaking all activities in line with best practice standards and processes as set out by the IoF, Fundraising Regulator and any other bodies as prompted by the Head of Individual Giving.
• Write campaign briefs including campaign objectives, creative, digital, print and production briefs, feeding into decisions on creative approaches, copy and all technical aspects of the direct marketing programmes
• Write or amend existing copy and proof-read accurately. Critique, manage and evaluate work by external or internal agencies to a high standard and high level of accuracy
• Lead contact for our face to face fundraising activity, from briefing, monitoring and reconciliation to delivering training and fulfilling requests, including coordination of visits to Mother's Union projects
• Lead on any challenge events or wider individual DIY fundraising or organisational  income generating events as assigned, meeting agreed targets set by the Head of Individual Giving.
• Monitoring, managing and reporting of key KPIs including campaign income, spend and other performance metrics on a regular basis. Reporting to the Head of Individual Giving, highlighting variances and updating fundraising team reports making sure information is accurate and reconciled where necessary.
• Designing and delivering targeted training programmes for groups of fundraisers or members on behalf of Mothers’ Union as well as providing effective one-to-one campaign support as required.

Work Location/Hybrid Working Pattern

This role will be based at our Head Office in central London. Mothers’ Union operates a hybrid working model. Staff are required to work an aggregate minimum of 90 days per calendar year (pro rata for part timers) at our Head Office, Mary Sumner House in central London. Tuesdays are our anchor days where every staff member is expected to be at the office. The 90 days includes anchor Tuesdays. In addition, Thursday is a core working day where part time staff are expected to work, either at home or from the office as needed.

Details of Job

The Systems and Administration Officer will be responsible for the effective running of Heart of the City’s systems and administrative processes, ensuring that digital tools are utilised in the most effective way, and governance, finance and business support processes are delivered efficiently.

The post holder will manage the delivery of key IT, finance, governance and administrative processes. This includes ensuring the legal compliance, effectiveness and security of cloud services and software used by the team, supporting the director with financial planning and administration and managing calendars, governance systems and general correspondence. The post-holder will also be a key contact point both internally and externally; this includes senior stakeholders on the Board of Trustees and Council of Members. They will also support the team with day-to-day office management and queries with software and cloud service usage, with a view to streamlining systems where possible.

Responsibilities

Press

• Field enquiries from stakeholders including journalists and police forces
• Write press releases and media statements and share these when appropriate via digital & social
• Support the team with the rewards process and promotion
• Draft assets for press
• Be part of the on-call rota system currently 1 week in 7 (training and support provided)
• Effectively manage Vuelio to manage the daily tagging, produce media reports demonstrating PR coverage for all campaigns in a timely way.

Digital

• Develop and update content for website news pages and social media platforms
• Spot trends and advise the team regarding innovative new ideas for PR & Media to share with the team

PR and Publications

• Produce, edit and distribute updates and materials for external and internal audiences, dealing sensitively with those whose personal experiences might be featured
• Provide communications support for regional managers along with other internal staff and teams in addition to police and business development campaigns
• Manage external freelancers and agencies as needed to agreed deadlines and budgets
• To lead on editing, co-ordinating and organising the editorial, design and production of corporate publications
• Ensure all publications are in line with brand and changing needs of the charity and to be delivered in a timely via post and digitally.

Brand

• Ensure Crimestoppers consistent branding is used along with the style and tone of voice
• Manage on a weekly basis the brand inbox queries
• Extend the network of journalists both regionally and nationally
• Plan/create multi-media communications material

Experience

• Minimum 2 years experience working in media relations and PR or related fields (Essential)

Hours of work: Full-time - 35 hours per week (part time may be negotiable).
