Job description

Rates of Pay: £13.45ph to £15.02ph (depending on experience/qualifications, including holiday allowance)

Hours: Varying, including daytime, twilight hours, evening, weekends, bank holidays, school holidays and

occasional residential periods as required

Reports to: Operations Manager / Abbey Hub Manager / Project Coordinator

Contract Type: Sessional

Summary of Role

Working under the direction of our Centre Managers at Arc in the Park and Abbey Hub, Support Workers are key to

ensuring the successful delivery of our provision for children and young people. Working with children and young

people in group settings, the role will support the delivery of our play and youth projects and activities to aid their

development.

Responsibilities

● Providing for the social, personal, educational and leisure needs of children and young people by assisting in

the running, organisation and delivery of particular projects.

● Establishing positive relationships with all children and young people supporting and enabling them to

increase their confidence and realise their potential, fully integrating them into all project activities.

● Coordinating resources and to develop opportunities for children and young people which reflects their

particular needs and circumstances.

● Facilitating the active involvement of the children and young people in the planning and development of the

project programme.

● Facilitating the positive integration of children and young people with behavioural difficulties and/or

additional needs within the project.

● Supporting and guiding volunteers, trainees and junior leaders in all of the above, as required.

● Working as a member of the AAA team to ensure the safety and well-being of the children and young people

being supervised including day to day 'housekeeping' of the site and maintenance of equipment.

● Liaising with parents, carers and other organisations and professionals as required.

● Adapting activities to meet a child's/young person’s needs as appropriate.

● Carrying out health and safety inspections as required.

● Adhering to AAA policies and procedures in respect of safeguarding children and young people.

● Administering medication, if appropriate training successfully completed.
