Job description

As Director of Services you will be leading and developing a small group of dedicated staff delivering against Salcare’s mission as a ‘one-stop’ diversified services provider in areas of complex and multiple deprivation in North Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Erewash.

The range of services delivered through Salcare include support to victims of domestic violence including a new strategic focus on perpetrators and young people at risk of offending; McKenzie Friend and legal services; support to families and victims of trauma including art therapy; a rapidly growing foodbank, and other community ‘one-stop’ services.

Together, trustees and service leaders at Salcare have a clear sense of purpose and dedication to improving the life of individuals who have been the victims of abuse, and to the wider community.

As an organisation our strategic goals are to be strong, sustainable and effective so we are able to fulfil our core purposes, while at the same time developing services to meet emerging needs. We recognise the need to enhance Salcare’s profile and use our experience and expertise to influence professional services, and the wider community, to support victims of trauma, abuse and/or poverty.  We see the appointment of a new Director of Services as crucial to achieving these goals, as well as developing a robust financial foundation for the organisation.

We are seeking an experienced leader who understands the challenges of managing counselling services and can engage with potential funders in a challenging climate.

The successful candidate will have vision and focus, a proven track record of successful delivery and ideally organisational leadership. and be committed to the ideals of Salcare. They will need to provide evidence of ability to take responsibility for the organisation’s finances and management practice in addition to building strategies to put in place and to deliver against a long term strategic plan.

Please note that the closing date is 11pm on Friday 9 October and that the interview process will be remote.

We look forward to hearing from you.
