The Legal Office is the in-house provider of legal services to the national policy-making and governance institutions of the Church of England (the National Church Institutions, "NCIs"), which are some of the largest charities in the UK (including statutory corporations and a Royal Charter corporation), the largest of which are the Archbishops' Council, a national policy and strategic decision-making body, the Church Commissioners, a substantial endowment fund with assets valued at £11.1bn (2024) which has positioned itself at the forefront of Responsible Investment and which supports the mission of the Church, and the Church of England Pensions Board which stewards a £3.4bn fund. The Legal Office also advises the General Synod, which is a legislative assembly which makes primary and secondary legislation subject to the approval of Parliament.

We are a small, inclusive team which will comprise 17 legally qualified staff, with three paralegals and two support staff. Our professional backgrounds are diverse, with members coming to us from private practice in law firms, the Bar, from government, and from regulators.

About the role

As a member of the Legal Office Advisory Team, you will be providing legal services to the National Institutions of the Church of England, focused on giving legal advice across a diverse and interesting range of subjects which bear on the operations of the Church Commissioners and other parts of the national Church of England.

You will be joining us at an exciting time for the organisation and the role will offer you the opportunity for genuine career growth and development in a supportive environment, including interaction with some of the most senior stakeholders in the organisation. You will also be a member of the Legal Office's advisory team, undertaking as appropriate a wider range of duties as a legal adviser within the National Church Institutions.

This role will include:

• Working with senior counsel and other stakeholders in relation to drafting and reviewing contracts, and supporting effective legal compliance and due diligence.
• Providing timely, legally sound and pragmatic subject matter expertise into national projects including contractual risk reviews, and drafting and amending terms, and negotiating terms with counterparties (both standard and bespoke).
• Supporting the development and roll out of training and knowledge management in connection with contracts and other areas of professional practice.
• Provision of advice to the Church Commissioners, the Archbishops' Council, the Church of England Pensions Board, their boards, committees and staff on legal and procedural issues arising out of their work. Some of these activities are legislative or regulatory in nature.

Marketing & Communications Officer

The Marketing and Communications Officer will play a key role in delivering Deafblind UK’s marketing and communications activity, helping to tell powerful stories, grow brand awareness, and strengthen engagement with people with lived experience, supporters, funders, and the wider public.

Working alongside the Head of Marketing & Communications, the postholder will act as a proactive and trusted collaborator, supporting teams across services, fundraising, volunteering and operations. This role is not only about delivering day-to-day communications; it will also play a key part in our next stage of growth—bringing energy, creativity and new ways of thinking to help us expand our influence and impact.

This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative, proactive content expert to play a hands-on role in shaping our voice and impact.

Responsibilities

Content & Campaigns

• Research, write and publish engaging content across multiple channels (website, social media, email, press, print).
• Create photo and video content.
• Develop case studies and human-interest stories that bring Deafblind UK’s work to life.
• Support the planning and delivery of national campaigns (e.g. Deafblind Awareness Week, annual conference, fundraising appeals).
• Produce and schedule content using tools such as Hootsuite, Mailchimp and Canva (or similar).
• Internal Business Partnering
• Act as a responsive and proactive marketing partner for internal teams, building strong relationships with colleagues across the organisation.

• Measuring and reporting on digital outcomes, keeping up to date with best practices and new opportunities.

Person Specification

Experience & Skills

The role and its impact

This is a part-time CEO role providing hands-on leadership so CCE can deliver projects well, support volunteers, and build strong partnerships. Working with the Board, you will help move projects from early-stage development through to installation and reporting.

Key details

About the role 

The Head of Income Generation will play a pivotal role in strengthening the financial sustainability and social impact of our organisation. This 12-month position—open to both employees and consultants—will lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive income generation strategy across our three social businesses: our women’s-only gym and studio, our community café, and our meeting room hire service.

Working closely with the leadership team, the postholder will identify new income opportunities, enhance the visibility and market reach of our social enterprises, and ensure that all business activity aligns with our mission to improve women’s health and wellbeing.

This role is both strategic and hands-on—ideal for a results-driven professional who combines commercial acumen with a deep commitment to social purpose. By driving growth in our social businesses and expanding our audience reach, the Head of Income Generation will directly contribute to closing our organisational deficit by 2029 and amplifying our social impact

Our women-only gym provides a safe and empowering environment for over 600 women to move, learn, and thrive. Led by trauma-informed trainers with expertise in women’s health, it offers 29 weekly classes that prioritise confidence, joy, and holistic wellbeing rather than weight loss. The gym embodies our commitment to preventative health and creates an inclusive community where women of all ages and backgrounds can focus on their strength, resilience, and self-care. As a cornerstone of our trading model, it sustains our mission while directly advancing it.

The gym has seen significant growth in both membership and the breadth of its offer, establishing itself as a trusted and empowering space for women’s health and wellbeing. With excellent member retention rates and a strong reputation for inclusivity, safety, and quality, the gym is now well positioned for its next stage of development. We see substantial potential to expand its reach, increase profitability, and deepen its social impact by engaging more women from our local and wider communities. A key focus will be on leveraging our existing member community to support peer recruitment and referral, strengthening the sense of belonging while driving sustainable growth. This next phase will build on the gym’s solid foundations to enhance both its commercial success and its contribution to The Bridge’s mission

The Café – Nourishing Food, Nurturing Community

Our café is the social heart of The Bridge — a welcoming, accessible, and inclusive space where everyone can connect, share, and feel at home. Serving seasonal, plant-based meals prepared in-house, the café champions women-led enterprises and affordable, healthy food. It hosts many of our wellbeing and creative programmes, and through initiatives like the Pay-What-You-Can Supper Club, supports emerging women chefs and builds everyday acts of care and solidarity. The café has the opportunity to not only advances our mission of improving women’s health and wellbeing but also generates vital trading income and partnership opportunities. 

While it currently operates at a deficit, it plays a vital role in advancing our wellbeing and community objectives. We are now focused on realising its full commercial potential. A feasibility study is underway to explore a range of operational and business models that will transition the café into a sustainable, profit-making enterprise. Plans include expanding income-generating opportunities through hosting more events, developing an external catering offer, and maximising use of the space for private hire and functions during weekends. This work will ensure the café continues to embody our values while contributing significantly to the financial sustainability of The Bridge

Room Hire – Spaces that Enable Collaboration and Impact

Our professional meeting and event spaces are used by charities, community groups, and corporate partners for workshops, training, and strategic planning. With over 500 bookings a year and a 89% return rate, these rooms are known for their quality, warmth, and service. The income they generate supports our wider mission, while also acting as a catalyst for new partnerships and collaborations. 

We now aim to build on this success by increasing utilisation on our most popular days (Tuesday to Thursday) and attracting new clients to fill capacity on Mondays, Fridays, evenings, and weekends. Plans include developing loyalty packages for regular clients and introducing new offers such as team wellbeing days that align with our health and wellbeing ethos. This approach will not only maximise income potential but also strengthen The Bridge’s role as a space where organisations connect, collaborate, and thrive.

Key responsibilities: 

1. Income Generation Strategy

· Develop and implement a comprehensive income generation strategy for our social businesses (women’s-only gym and studio, café, and meeting room hire).

· Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities while aligning with the organisation’s mission and values.

· Monitor financial performance and make recommendations to meet growth and sustainability targets. 

· Monitor return on investment of additional marketing spend

· Budget setting and management of cafe, gym and marketing budgets 

· Support the development of medium-term (3-5 year) income generation roadmap to support sustainability, recommending organisational changes and scalable models beyond the 12 months.

2. Business Development and Partnerships

· Together with the CEO, build and maintain relationships with local businesses, community organisations, and stakeholders to drive collaboration and income growth.

· Explore new partnership opportunities that enhance both revenue and social impact.

5. Line and Task Management

· Provide leadership, guidance, and performance management for 1 or 2 managers

· Task manage the Head of Operations, who oversees room hire services, ensuring alignment with income generation and marketing priorities.

6. Performance Monitoring and Reporting

· Set measurable targets for income generation and and track progress regularly.

· Implement a CRM and/or data-dashboard system to track customer/member acquisition, retention, income per stream, marketing campaign performance, and present monthly/quarterly reports to CEO and Board.

· Report to the leadership team on performance, insights, and opportunities for improvement.

7. Values-Driven Leadership

· Embed the organisation’s mission and values into all business and marketing activities.

· Serve as a member of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to organisational strategy, decision-making, and long-term planning.

Person Specification 

Qualifications

· Relevant degree or professional qualification in business, social enterprise, or a related field.

· Professional development in leadership or business management is desirable.

Experience

· Proven experience of running or scaling a trading/social enterprise business (profit and loss accountability, membership acquisition/retention, pricing strategy, customer marketing). Ideally, specifically in at least one of the key areas of the business. 

· Demonstrated track record of successfully managing multiple business streams or revenue-generating projects. 

· Demonstrable ability to build, develop and lead a multi-disciplinary team (across café, gym, marketing/social media) and foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

· Experience in developing partnerships and networks with other businesses and organisation that generate revenue and social impact.

Head of Product - Alzheimer's Society

Nearly one million people in the UK are living with dementia. How they access support, information and hope increasingly depends on the digital products we build. As Head of Product at Alzheimer's Society, you'll set the strategic vision for the digital services that shape their experience. You'll also lead the multidisciplinary teams that bring those services to life.

Digital products aren't just part of our work at Alzheimer's Society, they're central to how we reach people who need us. As Head of Product within our Technology directorate, you'll own the vision and strategy for our digital experiences. From the platforms where people find information in moments of crisis, to the tools that enable our services, campaigns, and fundraising user journeys.

This is a leadership role with real breadth and impact. You'll shape investment decisions across the digital portfolio. You'll set the standards for accessibility and user-centred design, and build the operating models that enable product teams to solve the right problems. But you'll also lead people. - Owning and leading the Society-wide digital strategy, defining strategic outcomes, investment priorities and success measures for the overall digital portfolio.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Start Network has an exciting opening for an Events Support Officer. This a great opportunity for a motivated person who has experience in event organisation and wishes to further their career in a friendly and dynamic environment.  The successful candidate must be available to start in March 2026.

Working with different teams in Start Network, the successful candidate will have a key role in helping to deliver flagship events such as the Annual Assembly which will take place overseas in October.  The Events Support Officer will provide administrative and logistical support to events teams for their respective events and be comfortable working in a matrix management arrangement.

This job is varied and fast-paced a lot of the time and will include duties ranging from dealing with venues to booking flights and arranging catering.  In addition, the Events Support Officer will, from time to time, undertake administrative duties related to staff travel and other needs that may arise within the Operations team. 

The Events Support Officer may have to work evenings and weekends on occasion and must be prepared to travel within the UK and abroad at required times.

As Director of Income & External Affairs, you will be a key member of our Leadership Team, working closely with colleagues across the charity and with our Board. You will lead the growth of sustainable income, develop powerful and values-led partnerships, strengthen our public voice, and help shape a policy and advocacy agenda grounded in the experiences of people facing financial hardship. You will also play a vital role in building trust, credibility and influence across sectors to help shift the systems that keep people locked in financial insecurity.

We are looking for an exceptional and values-driven leader with a strong track record in relationship-based income generation, partnerships and influence. This experience may come from the charity sector or a commercial environment. We are not seeking a specific career path or background; instead, we actively welcome applications from people who bring new perspectives, transferable skills and different ways of thinking. What matters most is a deep commitment to our purpose, a willingness to learn and the confidence to lead with curiosity and humility.
