About the Role 

The Director of Operations is a member of GiveOut’s leadership team, partnering closely with the Executive Director, they will lead on all operational matters, ensuring GiveOut is an efficient, compliant, and resilient institution capable of delivering lasting impact.

The Director of Operations oversees the charity’s financial and administrative systems, human resources, compliance and risk management, and internal communications. They will support the Executive Director in strategic planning, budget management, governance, stakeholder reporting, and cross-organisational projects, deputising for the Executive Director when required.

Key Responsibilities

Governance and Compliance

• Support the Executive Director in servicing the Board of Trustees; preparing papers, coordinating meetings, and onboarding new trustees.

• Ensure organisational compliance with statutory, legal, and data protection requirements.

• Lead on risk management, maintaining robust policies, risk registers and assessments, and mitigation strategies.

• Coordinate the annual audit and reporting to the Charity Commission.

Strategy and Planning

• Partner with the Executive Director on strategic planning, helping to strengthen GiveOut’s sustainability and impact.

• Support the Executive Director in exploring new markets, operating models, and partnerships.

Financial Oversight

• Lead on financial management, including budgeting, cashflow forecasting, management accounts and financial reporting.

• Ensure compliance with financial policies, charity regulations, and audit requirements.

• Monitor and analyse financial performance, identifying risks and opportunities to strengthen financial resilience.
   

Operational Management

• Lead the smooth and efficient running of daily operations, ensuring systems and processes support the team’s effectiveness.

• Identify and implement process improvements across functions to drive efficiency, accountability, and collaboration.

• Oversee internal communications and office management, fostering a positive, inclusive, and collaborative working culture.
   

Management and Human Resources

• Provide effective line management and leadership to team members in the Operations Grant-Making and Communications teams. 

• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance review processes.

• Maintain and update HR policies, ensuring legal compliance and alignment with GiveOut’s values.

As an Individual Giving Manager, your role will have overall responsibility for the operational delivery of the Individual Giving strategy. The Individual Giving team are a small and ambitious team who sit within Public Fundraising and form part of a wider Fundraising and Communications directorate. The team is responsible for generating around £1m in income a year, through recruiting new donors and building relationships with existing donors, including legacies and mid value supporters. We have ambitious plans for growth and, as part of a supporter marketing remit, are developing more holistic relationships with our supporter base.

Reporting to the Senior Individual Giving Manager, you will take overall responsibility for planning, managing and delivering innovative and impactful supporter campaigns across a range of channels. With the ability to resolve everyday challenges and obstacles independently, you will be expected to deliver a range of Direct Marketing fundraising campaigns through the full creative process, from briefing to concept, through to final delivery, as well as reviewing results and making recommendations. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing legacy marketing plans, utilising channels including direct marketing, digital and events. Alongside this, your role will focus on our mid value programme and producing and developing campaigns and stewardship plans aimed specifically for this audience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Campaign project management:

• Plan, manage and deliver innovative and impactful supporter campaigns across a range of channels, including donor development, supporter acquisition and prize led fundraising activities.
• Support the Senior Individual Giving Manager in the setting of budgets and achieve income targets outlined in annual plans.
• Produce, take ownership of and implement medium to long-term product strategies for elements of the development and/or acquisition programmes – delivering all associated campaign activities, assessing the performance of each product against response and income targets, and managing these on an ongoing basis in order to meet or exceed targets.
• Produce clear and succinct briefs to agencies, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
• Use marketing judgement to proof, edit and develop compelling creative, and make sound decisions on proposals and testing plans.
• Work closely with the Data Manager, as well as Supporter Care, Communications, Events and Partnerships Fundraising to successfully deliver campaigns and evaluations.
• Continually test and learn across campaigns to improve performance, consistently looking to improve ROI and lifetime value across the programme.
• Manage contract and campaign agreements with external agencies, ensuring activities are delivered in a compliant way, adhering to GDPR and fundraising regulation including the Code of Fundraising Practice.

Management of supporter journeys:

• Develop effective welcome and supporter journeys, to help minimise attrition and increase the average lifetime value of donors.
• Ensure that new supporters are thanked and welcomed appropriately, with an emphasis on testing early-stage engagement.
• Support the creation and testing of an integrated supporter journey programme that is segment and channel based, in collaboration with colleagues across the wider Fundraising department.

Reporting and analysis:

• Closely monitor campaign results and provide updates on performance.
• Produce post-campaign analysis reports.
• Work with the Data Manager to develop and update existing reporting mechanisms.
• Make recommendations to improve the performance of future campaigns based on evidence and data.

Legacy marketing and administration:

• Develop and implement legacy marketing plans utilising channels including direct marketing, digital and events.
• Liaise with the wider Public Fundraising team to brief speakers and identify new speakers or ‘Legacy Ambassadors’ to help promote legacy fundraising at key events.
• Build one to one relationships with potential legacy donors, including taking them on tours of The Children’s Trust to showcase our service provision.
• Management of legacy administration including liaison with solicitors, executors, other charities (who are benefitting from the same estate) and family members.

Mid value programme:

• Work with Senior Individual Giving Manager to develop and implement the mid value donor fundraising strategy.
• Build and steward relationships with our mid value donors, developing relationships which inspire donors and supports them towards making significant gifts to The Children’s Trust and encourages long-term support.
• Identify and develop mid value prospects, as well as potential major donor prospects from within the mid value cohort for stewardship by the Philanthropy team.
• Collaborate with colleagues to build appropriate supporter journeys for mid value prospects and donors.
• Consider innovative ways of engaging mid value donors and prospects, such as targeted communications and events.

Developing insight, product development, competitor analysis and industry  perspective:

• Use existing research and insight, and where appropriate, undertake and commission new projects to derive new / further insight and analysis.
• Identify, research and develop new products, creative ideas and fundraising initiatives.
• Keep up to date with industry developments and act upon direct and digital marketing trends and statistics.

TAG Youth Club, an award-winning charity and a youth club open to children, young people and young adults, whatever their disability. Flexible and Hybrid Working

Our office base is located in central London. You need to be in the office for a minimum of 1 day per week and further Team Days and Board Away Days. Travel and accommodation for working at our London office is at the job-holders own expense. Expenses incurred for SMK business outside London are covered by the charity.

The 15hours per week can be worked flexibly across Monday to Thursday, with a preference for them to include at least part of Monday and Tuesday to accommodate our weekly team meetings (Monday mornings) and Board Meetings which occur quarterly (Tuesday afternoons)..

As Shop Manager of Scope's Walthamstow shop, you’ll have autonomy to run your shop using your creativity and flair to flourish in our retail environment. Our retail roles are full of variety, and every day is different! One day you might be generating and processing stock and designing an eye-catching window display. The next day you might be recruiting and training our wonderful volunteers. Every day there will be a different challenge that you’ll find extremely rewarding. You will have relevant experience in retail but a great attitude and willingness to learn is just as important.

About you

As Shop Manager you’ll be passionate about retail and have a love of fashion with experience of running a shop, or you’ll be looking for a management role as the next step in your career.

Focusing on sustainable fashion, engaging with local communities and leading our volunteers to deliver a great colleague and customer experience, we raise much needed funds to deliver an Equal Future for disabled people and their families.

Shop hours

It’s important for you to know that Scope Charity Shops are open every day. So some weekend and Bank Holiday cover is needed. Our full time hours are 35 hours a week, working five days out of seven. Weekly hours for part-time vacancies are on a seven-day rota.

Job Summary

The Head of Operations holds responsibility for our day-to-day delivery, strategic development of our services, and operational team leadership. As our new Head of Operations you will:

• sit on the PiP Senior Management Team and lead our team of circa twenty delivery staff. 
• ensure continuous operational improvement, working with SMT to develop our service and systems, through new projects or ways of working, and champion a learner-led approach to everything we do. 
• champion PiP meeting our regulatory and reporting requirements, manage key relationships including with local authorities, and hold budget responsibility across our service.

What You’ll Need

• Significant experience of working with people with learning disabilities, or a similar vulnerable client group, including knowledge of Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults (SOVA) processes.
• Significant experience of leading and managing a staff team.
• Strong understanding of and commitment to a person-centred approach to working with people with learning disabilities, including planning, progress monitoring and review.
• Experience of liaising with a wide network of agencies and sector professionals in support of student needs.
• Knowledge of national and local legislation and policy affecting people with learning disabilities, including personal budgets. Alongside knowledge of key legislation and processes including on Health & Safety and Risk Skills and abilities 
• Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, including the ability to maintain accurate records and produce reports for a variety of internal and external audiences.
• Able to take a lead role in the implementation of major tasks, including contributing to the delivery of key performance management targets and making organisational and systems improvements.
• Able to manage and complete projects successfully, including delegating tasks and monitoring and evaluating progress against outcomes.
• Able to establish, develop and maintain constructive and professional relationships with a wide variety of professionals and carers both internally and externally.
• Able to liaise and work closely with student families, carers and other stakeholders in planning, implementing and monitoring support.
• Able to take a flexible approach to work, including flexible and out of hours working in response to service needs and developments.
• Willing and able to participate actively in a variety of fundraising events and activities, including some evening and weekend events.

We are looking for a Legacy and Administration Manager to join our Finance and Operations team on a part-time basis (2 days per week). This role will report to the Director of Finance and Operations. 

Job Purpose

Legacies are one of the most vital sources of income for Operation Smile UK, helping us continue our work supporting patients with cleft around the world. We’re now looking for a Legacy Administration Manager to join our dedicated team and ensure that every gift left to the charity is managed with care, professionalism, and in line with the wishes of our supporters.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of residuary, specific, and reversionary legacy cases from initiation to completion, optimising income while upholding all legal, ethical, and organisational standards.
• Communicate with empathy and professionalism with executors, solicitors, and beneficiaries’ families, including handling enquiries and confirming receipt of legacy notifications.
• Review estate documentation and valuations, determine the charity’s entitlement, and verify that all due funds are correctly received.
• Ensure that all relevant charity tax reliefs are properly applied for, including Inheritance Tax, Capital Gains Tax appropriations, and Income Tax (form R185).
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all legacy income and correspondence within OSUK’s CRM system and Finance Tracker.
• Track the status of ongoing cases, pursue outstanding actions, and take prompt steps to address issues or disputes as they arise.
• Collaborate closely with internal teams—such as Finance, Supporter Care, and Partnerships—to promote strong stewardship and compliance.
• Refer or escalate complex or high-impact matters to the Director of Finance and Senior Finance Manager when necessary.
• Contribute to team meetings, process improvements, and the development of best practice.

Person Specification

· Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships and communicate clearly and sensitively, both in writing and verbally.

· Proven experience in legacy administration within the charity sector or in probate and estate law.

· Highly organised, with the capability to prioritise and manage a diverse caseload effectively.

· Exceptional attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in financial transactions, documentation, and data entry.

· Skilled in interpreting wills, estate accounts, and related legal documents.

· Competent in reviewing estate accounts to verify the correct application of Inheritance Tax (IHT) and Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and to ensure estates are properly finalised.

· Proficient user of Microsoft Office and customer relationship management (CRM) systems.

· Review estate accounts, including the allocation of Capital Gains Tax (CGT) and Inheritance Tax (IHT), to confirm estates are correctly administered.

· Certificate in Charity Legacy Administration (ILM) or legal/paralegal qualification.
