We’re looking for a driven and detail-oriented Management Accountant to join our finance team on a 12–15 month maternity cover contract. This is a hybrid role, with time split between working remotely and being based at our Cheadle Central office, Stockport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the management accounting service, supporting the Head of Finance to deliver accurate financial management and reporting.
- Oversee day-to-day finance operations, ensuring compliance with Trust procedures and statutory requirements.
- Manage the Trust’s banking systems, including supplier payments and cash flow monitoring.
- Drive continuous improvement of finance systems, processes, and controls to enhance quality and efficiency.
- Lead a small transactional finance team handling petty cash, accounts payable, and administrative tasks.
- Ensure timely preparation of month-end journals, accruals, prepayments, and monthly management accounts.
- Administer banking transactions with robust checks and balances.
- Manage finance software and provide support to the wider team.
- Prepare information for external audits and champion sound financial practices and compliance.

JOB PURPOSE
The main purpose of this post is to provide comprehensive financial management for Bradford Hospitals Charity, ensuring accurate reporting, robust financial controls, and effective management of the Charity's financial position.

JOB DIMENSIONS
The post will have responsibility for the Charity's financial systems, including managing and monitoring all charitable income and expenditure, financial forecasting, producing monthly Financial and management accounts, annual accounts, and maintaining effective control systems.
A key aspect of this role is managing the Charity's portfolio of trust funds, which consists of various restricted, designated and unrestricted funds. The Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that all donations are correctly allocated to the appropriate funds, that expenditure from these funds complies with donors' wishes and charity law, and that fund balances are accurately tracked and reported.
The postholder will carry out their duties in line with departmental accounting policies, and with reference to Trust Standard Financial Instructions (SFIs) & Standing Orders (SOs), as well as charity-specific financial regulations and requirements.
The Finance Manager will provide expert financial advice to fund advisors, Charity staff, and the Charity Director, taking initiative to achieve agreed results and working independently on a day-to-day basis within clearly defined policies, protocols, procedures, and codes of conduct. This is Us: Tracing Manchester’s Histories seeks to reshape and redefine how Manchester’s public realm reflects its rich and diverse history. Building on insights from extensive public consultations, the project will amplify underrepresented voices and confront complex legacies, including those tied to migration, the transatlantic slave trade and industrial exploitation.
By fostering collaboration among community groups, academic institutions, cultural partners and local authorities, the initiative will create an inclusive digital platform for storytelling and dialogue.
Through digital innovation and community-driven activities, the project will celebrate overlooked stories, support learning, and ensure accessibility for all. The project will empower communities to actively engage with their heritage, fostering pride and a shared sense of belonging. Ultimately, it aspires to transform public spaces into more accurate and inspiring reflections of Manchester’s diversity, making a lasting contribution to cultural equity and inclusivity.

Job Summary
This role will be responsible for leading & managing fundraising data, and strategic oversight of fundraising data systems and processes, managing a team to employ process efficiencies and improve data quality ensuring seamless integration between CRM systems and external platforms to drive income generation across the full spectrum of the donor data landscape and deliver fundraising operations. You’ll also lead on behalf of fundraising on CRM development and enhancement requests to support data-driven fundraising decisions and strategies.
About You
- Extensive experience working across CRM platforms (including D365 Mission CRM or similar), managing system selections, and leading CRM enhancement projects.
- Skilled in data analytics, building reporting frameworks, and using database languages like SQL, along with managing data imports and Direct Debit processes.
- Proven ability to automate processes while ensuring compliance with GDPR and data security best practices.
- Demonstrated leadership and change management experience with a collaborative approach, influencing senior leaders in complex organisations.
- Competent in Microsoft applications, including Dynamics and the MS Office suite, with the ability to work under pressure and deliver results.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with a commitment to organisational values and attention to detail.
About the Role
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and optimised data processes and lead the transition from manual to automated solutions.
- Develop and manage a comprehensive fundraising data strategy and performance monitoring mechanisms to support sustainable income growth and informed decision-making.
- Work closely with senior Digital, Data & Technology teams, external suppliers, and internal stakeholders to build integrated data solutions and embed insights into fundraising strategies.
- Oversee fundraising data processes, reporting frameworks, compliance with data protection regulations, and manage best practices in data handling and campaign operations.
- Lead change management initiatives, including training, documentation, and managing the Fundraising Operations Lead to ensure effective implementation of data processes and systems.

Key Criteria:
Solid retail experience, preferably in fashion/clothing.
Experience in managing a team. Managing volunteers would be an advantage.
Comprehensive understanding of retailing and merchandising display.
Experience of cash handling and financial management procedures (including completion of sales records).
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer-first attitude and the ability to communicate with tact and discretion.
Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload, balancing competing demands.
Understanding of health and safety procedures in a retail environment.
