Responsibilities within this role:

• Provide oversight of the charity’s finance function through line management of the Finance & Governance Director and ensure our finance processes and systems integrate effectively with other business systems:

• Working with the Finance and Governance Director, lead on the development and implementation of wider financial strategies to guide the long-term financial sustainability of the organisation, providing advice and guidance to the CEO, and the Board.

• Anticipate the Charity’s resource needs as it continues to develop and consolidate, plan and implement the necessary changes in liaison with the Executive team.

• Work with the CEO and Finance and Governance Director, to ensure effective financial management and planning including the development of key performance indicators.

• Work with the Finance and Governance Director, to provide financial advice and support to YST’s trading subsidiary (YSTE) to ensure it is effectively utilised and managed.

• Oversee business planning across multiple income streams, allocating resources effectively and efficiently.

• Provide oversight of the HR and people development function through line management of the Assistant Director, HR:

• Work with the Assistant Director, HR, to lead the development and implementation of the organisation’s people strategy, including equity, diversity and inclusion, culture, talent development and management.

• Ensure YST has the best organisational design and appropriate resources to live out our values and behaviours, develop and support high performing teams and deliver on our mission.

• Support, develop and provide line management to, the Head of Implementation and the Business Performance Manager ensuring they and their teams provide excellent internal and external customer service.

• Drive excellence in the performance of all reports, building knowledge of their specialist areas and ensuring they are able to excel.

• Provide coaching and mentoring to direct reports contributing to a high-performance culture and values-led, mission driven team.

My client is the leading charity stopping the heartbreak and devastation of baby loss and making pregnancy and birth safe for everyone. About the role

Reporting to the CFO, the Head of Finance is responsible for leading a team of 5 and overseeing the day-to-day financial management of the charity, supporting and developing its financial strategies. In collaboration with the Charity’s Executive Team, the role is responsible for safeguarding the short, medium and long-term financial health of the organisation. This includes all financial reporting requirements, treasury management (overseeing the organisation's cash and liquidity performance) and the management of the annual budget and financial planning processes. Areas of responsibility will include:

Financial Strategy and Policy

• Support the Charity’s Executive Team with ensuring the short, medium and long term financial health of the organisation
• Collaborate with the Charity’s SMT to prepare business cases and financial models to support new business activities and investment proposals
• Review and update the charities financial policies
• Cultivate a support structure across the organisation where the finance department acts as a trusted business partner for operations and management

Reporting

Statutory Reporting, Audit & Risk

• Manage the Charity’s financial statutory compliance for both audit and regulatory matters and oversee the finance risk register

• Prepare the financial disclosures sections of the Charity ‘s annual reports and the accompanying narrative to explain the financial performance of the year
• Support the Charity’s regulatory compliance responsibilities, particularly with the financial elements of ESFA funding guidelines. Prepare financial returns, financial health assessments and other submissions to ensure that ESFA requirements are fulfilled.

Cash Flow Management

• Monitory the Charity’s cash flow, manage the working capital controls and produce cashflow reports and forecasts
• Oversee the Charity’s cash flow management processes and report on cash flow performance against budget and forecast targets.
• Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts which provide a consistently reliable understanding of the organisation’s cash flow position over the financial year.

Finance Department Development

• Design and implement learning and development frameworks for each member of the Finance department.
• Ensure that each member of the Finance department is sufficiently supported to fulfil their performance development goals.

About you

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)
• Experience of audit and preparation of annual financial accounts under UK GAAP and understanding of Charity SORP
• Experience of leading and developing Finance teams
• Experience working within the Charity or Education sectors (experience working with ESFA funding is preferable)

In the last year we have implemented a new CRM platform based on Salesforce and Azure platforms while continuing to adapt to modern ways of working post pandemic that have changed how our physical locations are best utilised.

As Senior Network Engineer, you'll play a key role in maintaining and supporting our current physical network hardware and solutions while we look to adopt a cloud first approach moving away from our current dependency on physical locations and legacy services. 

You'll work closely with the wider technology team on the development of our office infrastructure as we look to expand our current use of Meraki solutions to support us in providing office services to several charity partners alongside Save the Children UK.

Reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, you will be responsible for: 

• Monitoring our office and server platforms network connectivity to ensure availability, uptime, and responsive systems for the organisation using tools such as WhatsUpGold and Meraki portals and Azure monitor
• Maintaining our server platforms network connectivity, whether on premises, in private cloud or public cloud
• Maintaining and developing our physical office locations connectivity for end users and tenants alongside our Facilities team
• Working with our partners to maintain our WAN and cloud connectivity
• Helping implement solutions that are secure and follow Zero trust principles
• Maintaining current technologies such as Fortigate firewalls
• Implementing new technologies such as Zscaler and Azure Firewall
• Providing connectivity solutions that meet business requirements
• Documenting current and future solutions to ensure accountability and to promote Team and Organisation understanding of technologies.

About you

You'll have a track record of delivering solutions/platforms that empower organisations and understand how networks and connectivity provide the backbone of solutions and how critical infrastructure is to delivering business services.

To be successful, it is important that you have:

• Significant experience in a hands-on role delivering enterprise class networking – switching, routing and Wifi
• Demonstrated experience working as a Senior / established Network Support Engineer supporting department colleagues and business users in a large-scale organisation
• Ability to Troubleshoot a variety of Technologies both independently and with third parties
• Enterprise Switching and Routing expertise
• Firewall management experience – Fortigate or equivalent Next Generation Firewalls
• Experience implementing and supporting virtual private network solutions

An exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to lead on the provision, evaluation and development of a Scotland-wide bereavement support service.

Bereavement Support Service Lead - Scotland
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Rate: £37,500 per annum
Reporting to: Head of Support Services

Child Bereavement UK helps families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies.

We support children and young people (up to the age of 25) when someone important to them has died or is not expected to live, and parents and the wider family when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying.

We provide training to professionals in health and social care, education, and the voluntary and corporate sectors, equipping them to provide the best possible care to bereaved families.

Child Bereavement UK has an exciting opportunity for an experienced manager to lead on the provision, evaluation and ongoing development of a Scotland-wide bereavement support service that ensures families and professionals can access high-quality bereavement support when a baby or child has died, or when children or young people are bereaved. The Bereavement Support Service Lead will also support the strategic development of the Charity’s services in Scotland.

The Bereavement Support Service Lead - Scotland will:

• Lead/manage/contribute to and further develop the provision of a blended model of bereavement support across Scotland.
• Provide training, consultancy, and support for professionals whose work brings them into contact with bereaved families.
• Collaborate with partners to develop bereavement support services across Scotland.
• Support Child Bereavement UK’s Fundraising Team in the generation of sustainable income to fund our Scottish operations, providing information and data to support applications and reporting.

 The Financial Controller at Ambitious about Autism (AaA) and Ambitious about Autism Schools Trust (AaAST) plays a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and completeness of the organisations' financial data. They are responsible for adhering to the Charities SORP and the Academies Financial Handbook for AaAST.

The primary responsibilities of the Financial Controller include:

• Financial Data Management: Ensuring that all financial data is accurately recorded, maintained, and reported in accordance with relevant accounting standards and guidelines.
• Compliance: Ensuring compliance with statutory and legal obligations related to financial matters. This includes managing tax affairs, including VAT, and ensuring timely and accurate payments.
• Control Environment: Establishing and maintaining a robust control environment to safeguard assets, prevent fraud, and ensure accurate financial reporting. This involves implementing internal controls, conducting regular audits, and addressing any control weaknesses or risks.
• External Scrutiny: Preparing financial reports and statements for external scrutiny, such as audits, regulatory inspections, or funder assessments. The Financial Controller ensures that all financial records and processes can withstand external scrutiny and meet the required standards.
• Finance System Development: Taking responsibility for the development and effective operation of the finance system, IRIS Financials. This includes optimising system functionality, ensuring data accuracy, providing user support and training, and exploring opportunities for process improvements and automation.
• Team management: lead the financial accounting team and ensuring an excellent service is delivered.

Job summary

We are looking for a Chief Executive who can provide leadership, aligned with our valies and manage the organisation, working with the Trustee Board to provide vision and communicate a clear and inspiring strategic direction, implementing change as required.

The main purpose of this role is:

• To lead all staff and volunteers engaged by Motiv8 to successfully achieve objectives in line with Motiv8 valies in an inclusive way
• To develop the policy and strategy of Motiv8 in collaboration with the Board of Trustees

Chief Executive Officer, Remote, 35 hrs Salary £90,097

GFS is a feminist organisation with a mission to empower girls and young women in England and Wales to live their best lives. Girls as young as 6 tell us that they cannot be themselves. This causes problems for them and society. So, we offer an early intervention service for girls living in areas of deprivation to have the greatest impact.

This is an exciting role with an opportunity to lead the charity into the 150th Year of delivery and with a new strategy to address need. It will involve working with the leadership team and all departments but also the board and their support committees, the ambassadors, and presidents as well as the wonderful team of volunteers across England and Wales.

A great deal has been done to prepare the organisation for such an important time and so now there is a real opportunity for this role to lead in being a figurehead for the charity and representing all that is achieved at GFS in national events and discussions, to best represent the girls of today.

Our new strategy is built around pillars of Impact, Brand and Sustainability with an ambition to grow in delivery as well as reputation. GFS is aware that the work done to listen to and amplify girls’ voices is important because they have so much to say about what needs to change and from a very young age. This role will be key to making this happen.
