SANE is a UK-wide mental health charity working to improve the quality of life of anyone affected by mental illness. It aims to raise awareness and understanding of all mental health conditions; fight to improve frontline mental health services for individuals and carers; provide support, information and guidance through SANEline, Call Back service, email and text support; and promote and host research into causes, treatments and therapies through its Prince of Wales International Centre for SANE research.
 

About the role:

We are looking for people interested in providing compassionate support to people affected by mental health problems. This includes supporting people with severe mental illness, and carers, families and friends. You will provide support by telephone, email and text.

Call Back Officer/s will work within our team to provide support services. Hours for this role are flexible but would likely range from 12-6pm or 12-8pm for 2 days per week.

This role provides valuable practical experience in providing emotional support to vulnerable people.

Starting Salary: £15.46 per hour

The Volunteer Manager forms an integral part of our Retail management team, working closely with our shop management and HR teams. The Museum is looking for an ambitious and self-motivated individual for the role of Philanthropy Executive. Working alongside an approachable and highly successful Philanthropy team, reporting into the Senior Principal Gifts Manager, the role will support the development of our Principal giving programme (highest level funders of seven figure+). You will focus on the administration of the programme: preparing briefings, written correspondence, data base management and working closely with the Senior Principal Gifts Manager to create compelling proposals. Main Responsibilities

Fundraising

· Raise income in line with agreed personal targets and KPI’s, contributing to the Philanthropy team’s current annual income target of £7m+.

· Support the Senior Principal Gifts Manager in their management of seven-figure gifts.

· Establish strong cross-Museum relationships to develop programme ideas in line with funders’ interests and support the Senior Principal Gifts Manager to craft compelling cases for support.

· Support the Senior Principal Gifts Manager, Head of Philanthropy and Director of Development to plan and implement creative strategies to increase philanthropic gifts at the seven-figure gift level.

Finance and Administration

Over the past decade Pembroke House’s activities in Walworth have grown considerably, with annual turnover rising from £200k to £1 million. Further growth is expected as a result of a new strategy anchored around five 10-year commitments to the neighbourhood, consolidation of our activities across two community buildings and continuing to build wide-ranging partnerships in Walworth.

We are looking for an experienced and skilled financial professional who can steward us through this crucial period of development.  You will be someone who combines a passion for our mission, a keen eye for detail and a flair for interpreting financial information and supporting non-specialists to make sound financial decisions. 

Days will be varied spanning everything from helping budget holders report to funders; preparing accurate financial reports and management accounts; to creating the budgets and frameworks for long-term financial planning. The rest of the core finance team comprises a Bookkeeper and a pro bono Payroll Officer based in Pembroke College, Cambridge. Other members of the team manage petty cash, look after the room hire business (including invoicing and credit control) and administer pensions. 

The trustee’s Finance and Risk Subcommittee formed two years ago and a new trustee position of Treasurer is currently being recruited. The Finance Manager will service and attend the subcommittee’s quarterly meetings and be the main contact point with the Treasurer between meetings.

As a new role there will be plenty of opportunity to mould finance operations across the organisation. Finance systems are currently in place, and have satisfied the auditor over the past few years, but there remains scope for improvement, including through automation and upskilling of the wider team.

Experience & Abilities

• Proven experience delivering structured programmes or support to marginalised groups, ideally including ex-offenders or those at risk of offending.
• Confident facilitating group sessions and providing one-to-one motivation or support.
• Strong organisational, communication and time-management skills.
• Experience managing budgets and working with external stakeholders.
• Ability to maintain clear boundaries while building trust and rapport.
• Genuinely passionate about helping people build the skills they need to move forward. And take charge of their own future.
• Excited to support our clients and play. A hands-on role in growing the UR4 Driving project and exploring new ways it can make a difference.

Knowledge & Skills (Desirable)

• Understanding of barriers faced by ex-offenders and relevant legislation (e.g. Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974).
• Familiarity with resettlement pathways, coaching or casework.
• Competence using MS Office and digital reporting tools.
• Commitment to inclusive practice and social justice.

Salary & Benefits

• Salary: Circa £40,000 per annum, subject to experience
• Hours: 35 hours/week (5 days), primarily office-based with some flexibility
• Holiday: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays

Marketing Manager (Digital Fundraising Focus)

As the Marketing Manager you will lead this charity’s individual donor engagement, acquisition, and retention, aligning with fundraising targets. This role is ideal for an experienced Marketing Manager who resonates with their mission. The role focuses on developing digital marketing and donor management systems, providing strategic oversight of external communications.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Digital Marketing: Develop and implement a ‘test and learn’ digital marketing strategy targeting individual donors. Manage the CRM system for tracking and profiling supporters. Lead digital marketing campaigns, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
• Wider Marketing: Support broader marketing campaigns, establish media relationships, and promote digital and in-person events. Collaborate across teams to align digital marketing initiatives with organisational goals.
• Donor Engagement: Enhance donor engagement strategies to maximise retention and growth. Develop personalised communication plans and follow-up procedures.
• Content Strategy: Create and implement content strategies that align with their mission and resonate with the target audience. Oversee the development of digital and print materials.
• Performance Metrics: Monitor and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, using insights to optimise strategies.

Person Specification

• Proven experience in digital marketing and fundraising.
• Planning, organisational, and people skills.
• Proficiency in CRM systems, email marketing (Mailchimp), social media management, and data compliance (GDPR).
• Ability to craft emotionally resonant messaging and manage content calendars.
• Exceptional analytical skills with a track record of using data to drive marketing decisions.
• Project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

The primary purpose of this role is to provide debt advice and money education on a case management basis and to support the provision of advice by volunteers. The post holder will be expected to manage their own cases and lead appointment sessions.

Ideally we are looking for someone with prior debt or social welfare experience, and who has experience of working with and supporting volunteers. However we will also consider employing someone as a trainee adviser if you are able to demonstrate that you possess the skills, maturity and determination to become proficient in this role. 

The role will be based in one of our branches in west London, but hybrid and remote options will be considered for the right candidate.
