About this role…

Thames Reach’s Outreach teams operate across London and helps those who are rough sleeping to find routes away from the street. The teams respond to referrals and work flexibly to reach London’s most vulnerable. Individuals are assessed to identify their support needs and support plans are created, including work to obtain identification, access health services and refer to other specialist agencies, including those with immigration issues.

We are looking for an  Assistant Support Workers  to join the Street Outreach Rough Sleepers Team

Thames Reach welcomes applications from people with transferable skills.

You will:

• Complete outreach shifts, providing a rapid response to referrals for people who are rough sleeping in the borough 
• Work alongside senior colleagues to identify the fastest and most appropriate route away from the streets for the people that we are working with 
• Provide direct support to people who are found rough sleeping to enable them to move away from the streets and into accommodation 
• Maintain and support relationships with partner agencies 
• Accurately record all work completed within given timeframes

About the role

We are now looking for an experienced and innovative individual to support the engagement and outreach of our Young Women’s Service.

The successful candidate will be experienced in developing and delivering creative Gender Based Violence (GBV) prevention programs and confident to successfully engage young women in a wide range of settings including schools, colleges, youth programs & pupil referral units to raise awareness, challenge and positively influence the attitudes and behaviours that normalise GBV in this peer group. You will receive training on delivering GBV Resilience Programs that build psychological and emotional resilience in young people (YP) to strengthen protective factors to promote positive mental and emotional well-being in YP. You will co-produce and deliver training and awareness raising work for professionals, including first responders and managers in GBV related services / mental health provisions, educational centres and non-abusing family members and carers to facilitate appropriate response towards YP at risk.

You will therefore be skilled in nurturing and developing YP voices and active engagement within such forums. You will be skilled at working alongside young women with an acute awareness of how to successfully co-create and co-deliver training packages to professionals and the wider community, thus centralising YP as the leaders and change agents in the project.

This is a new role for the Circuit, replacing a volunteer. In designing the position, the Circuit has aimed for maximum flexibility to secure the best candidate for the role. Initially, the person will need physically to attend some meetings to familiarise themselves with the Circuit's operations and ensure a smooth hand-over. Complex Needs Worker: Women Experiencing Homelessness

Our client, a leading homelessness charity based in London, are looking for a Complex Needs Worker to work in a complex needs service for women experiencing homelessness in south London. Due to a rise in female rough sleepers, and the need to safeguard the most vulnerable in society, a new female only rough sleeper service has been commissioned to provide support and ongoing casework to vulnerable women engaged at the service with the aim of rehousing clients into more independent accommodation. Clients will be referred to the service via homeless assessments services, street outreach teams and other referral pathways.

Candidates for this role will need:

• Experience of working with the homeless and ideally complex needs women and the challenges the specific client group face
• Experience of working in a homeless assessment capacity
• Resettlement experience and knowledge of housing options

Job Purpose

This role sits within our new Men’s Minds project, based in Hounslow. The aim of the service is to improve men’s mental health outcomes by developing a mental health network supported and directed by the voices of its members.

The Student Advisor is a key role within the UWLSU’s Advice and Wellbeing team. The Student Advisor will deliver case-based advice and advocacy interventions to hundreds of students each year to an excellent standard. The post holder will work to ensure that our students are supported through academic regulatory processes such as mitigating circumstances, academic appeals, complaints and disciplinary processes at UWL. They will provide independent, non-judgmental and accessible advice to students that will empower them to make informed choices about their case. An understanding of external support networks is also advantageous, as our Advisors are expected to identify and provide signposting guidance to students that will help them access suitable support outside of the SU and University. We also pride ourselves on our partnership work with the University of West London and as such the postholder will be expected to demonstrate commitment to working in partnership with key stakeholders in the student experience at UWL.

Responsible for corporate hospitality, the Administrator will provide excellent in-person customer care for visitors to the organisation’s central London Hub and act a first point of contact via the organisation’s in-bound telephone hunt groups.

CHAIN stands for the Combined Homelessness and Information Network and is a multi-agency database for rough sleeping services in London. It plays a central role in the sector, allowing workers to share information with each other and ensuring their clients get the right support. CHAIN is one of the world’s most comprehensive systems of its kind, and is used for developing London and UK-wide rough sleeping strategy and policy.

This is an exciting time to become a Support Officer for CHAIN, as we carry out some major upgrades to the system and implement new ways of working.  This dynamic role requires a flexible skillset, responsiveness, and a willingness to learn. Working collaboratively in a small team, you will:

• Develop relationships with rough sleeper outreach services, enabling them to make the best use of CHAIN to support their clients

As we have launched our ambitious 5-year strategic plan this post will play a key role at Greenwich Students’ Union in supporting students to stay and succeed at university.

GSU Advocacy and Policy Team is leading an award-winning outreach project that seeks to support students to stay and succeed at Greenwich. A team of part-time student staff call 1000’s of students each term, supporting them to navigate University life, services and GSU. This role will support the award-winning team to deliver proactive supportive calls to students.

In this post you will :

• To supervise the retention calling project staff
• To support with escalations for students experiencing difficulties
• To spot trends in student issues and assist with reporting

This role sits within the Advocacy and Policy Team and focus on making 1-1 timely interventions to support students to succeed as well as identifying broader trends in student behaviour to inform our strategic approach to services and support.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

This post holder will be part of the Advocacy and Policy Team and will be expected to contribute to the department’s wider objectives and planning.

Delivery of Outreach

• Coordinate the team to deliver outbound phone calls and taking inbound calls in a call centre model, including opening and closing
• Ensure that the quality of personal outreach delivery is consistent and in line with the agreed scripts and conversation structures to support students
• Ensure the team provide excellent customer service to students, at all times seeking to support students’ needs appropriately, clarifying information and providing appropriate solutions
• Support other retention and wellbeing initiatives throughout the year

Supervision

• Support with training and development of student-staff team
• Support with the scheduling of shifts, monitoring of attendance and submitting of payroll
• Undertake 1-1’s with student staff, identifying additional support

Signposting & Monitoring

• Keep accurate records of all calls and student outreach in line with provided data tools
• Support callers to identify potential concerns from students and signpost students to the most relevant support pathway
• Closely monitor for any safety or safeguarding concerns from students, and support with escalations
• Support with the analysis of issues and regular reporting as directed

We are seeking a for a new Director & Head of Legal Practice to take forward this unique, niche Law Centre.  There is an opportunity for expanding the work of the Law Centre and showcasing the worth of health justice partnerships.We are looking for an energetic and compassionate lawyer with a broad experience of either housing or community care casework and representation, who is capable of being a legal aid category supervisor in either area, who has the confidence to lead the team and to develop it so that we can continue to make a real difference within the community.

Qualifications and experience

1. 5 years’ PQE qualified lawyer, with demonstrable experience of management at a senior level.
2. Ability to meet the supervisor for the Legal Aid Agency contract in either housing or community care.
3. A track record of implementing and managing change. 
4. A track record of leading and motivating others demonstrating strong people skills.
5. A track record of innovation and problem solving.
