We are looking for a Senior Education Officer, with the skill set to inspire people to connect with nature, support teachers, deliver talks, presentations and education sessions, while developing further opportunities within the team for learning through the subject of beavers.
Position: Senior Education Officer
Location: Remote (his role requires frequent travel and overnight stays)
Hours: Full time (37.5 hours per week)
Contract: Fixed (2 years)
Salary: £32,827 pa

About the Role
We are looking to hire a skilled and engaging Senior Education Officer to join a busy team, to further develop and implement an educational outreach programme which reaches children in Wales, Scotland and England. At present, this post has funding for three years from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, one year of which is now complete and we are looking to deliver the second two years of the project.
The purpose of the role is to extend the passion and knowledge of beavers into communities around Britain, to engage and enthuse young people and to reconnect (or reinforce) their love of nature. Using current materials and resources you will do so by delivering high-quality learning sessions within schools, community groups or virtual training sessions, sometimes delivered in conjunction with our beaver site partners and their education teams.
You will also be responsible for developing further aspects of the programme according to the requirements for each country and in partnership with relevant organisations
Key responsibilities include:
- Deliver a range of exciting, curriculum-linked workshops, talks, school and group sessions associated with beaver release sites.
- Network and build contacts and relationships with key personnel in schools, youth groups and community groups in order to create engagement with the education programme and expand its reach.
- Develop further resources and engaging activities or projects for group learning.
- Deliver standard level beaver ecology training to a range of age groups.
- Ensure the education programmes are up-to-date, accurate and complement the wider delivery of our mission.
- Monitor, collate and report on impact, working with the communications team to support the effective evaluation of our programme.
- Support volunteers and build capacity working with partner staff in the delivery of beaver education programmes.
- Work with the team to allocate resources ensuring education initiatives are well planned, deliver maximum value for money and remain within budget.
- Consider equality, diversity and inclusion in the approach to all education initiatives, supported with external expertise.
- Follow policies, standard operating procedures and safe working practices to ensure our work with visiting education groups complies with all relevant guidelines and legislation, including health and safety, safeguarding, copyright and GDPR.
About You

Essential:
- A degree in a zoology, biology or conservation-related field, or a teaching/education qualification or equivalent experience in teaching across a wide range of ages and abilities, using different delivery methods including virtual delivery.
- The ability to communicate complex concepts in an innovative and engaging way to a wide (and/or young) audience.
- Good organisation skills including time management, administration, workload planning and meeting deadlines.
- A strong interest in nature, conservation and restoration and an understanding of the role beavers can play in our landscapes’ recovery.
- Working knowledge of safeguarding legislation and policies and procedures.
- Be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS with barred list.
- Experience in confidently using IT packages for teaching delivery, including the use of tablets, presentation software and audiovisual.
You will need to have a full valid UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK.

About this key role
As our Alliance Caseworker, you will provide young person-centred holistic support in line with St Giles’ service delivery model, which will also include conducting robust risk and strengths-based needs assessments, with safeguarding as the priority, ensuring that the most appropriate intervention is offered and risks are managed and escalated appropriately.
We will also rely on you to develop and maintain relationships with other stakeholders, such as police, YOT, Probation, children's services and local authorities, plus make appropriate onward referrals and signpost young people to other support services and positive activities. Accurately recording all aspects of the work, including action plans, outcomes and session data on a day-to-day basis activity is a key aspect of this role, as is efficiently closing cases and identifying appropriate referral routes for ongoing support and crisis management.

Your role will sit within Uplift’s Politics Team, and will involve working closely within networks across Westminster. About the Role
- Located at a 24-hour supported housing service in Clapham, we provide high quality self-contained accommodation for 15 women who have experienced homelessness and multiple disadvantage.
- The aim of the service is to provide a therapeutic environment in which women feel safe and can flourish, enabling them to move on into independent, permanent accommodation. The accommodation also includes overnight safe spaces.
- In this role, you will provide support to all the women, including running co-designed activities and accompanying women to appointments.
- You will work closely with Specialist Support Workers who manage individual resident support and safety plans.
- You will model person-led, psychological, gender, and culturally informed support, will be skilled at building trust and you will be a great team player.
- You will undertake 8-hour shifts on a 7-day rota, covering the hours 07:45 am to 20:15 pm. Please be aware that the building has several floors and no lifts.

Campaign Against Antisemitism is the UK’s leading organisation fighting antisemitism nationwide. Our volunteer-led charity is dedicated to exposing and countering antisemitism through education and zero-tolerance enforcement of the law.
We raise awareness through front-page media campaigns and major outreach events such as the March Against Antisemitism. Our litigation continues to set landmark precedents. We pride ourselves on working intelligently and fast to deploy innovative and aggressive campaigning strategies against antisemites.

THE ROLE
The full-time Creative Communications and Events Officer works within the Communications team to help inform the public about antisemitism using a variety of media.
You will be joining our small, fast-paced, entrepreneurial staff team based at our office in central London.
The role brings a diverse set of responsibilities and an opportunity to work within a charitable organisation with a strong sense of purpose.
Responsibilities
- You will design graphics across our organisation, from social media posts and placards to pamphlets to pledge cards
- Work with creative colleagues to conceive and implement a variety communications campaigns to raise awareness about antisemitism and educate the public, sometimes at short notice and with tight deadlines
- Provide logistical support for communications projects, including scouting and booking locations, ordering materials, liaising with third parties and conducting internal research
- Plan, script, shoot and edit videos on various topics for different audiences on our numerous social media channels
- Growing our social media presence, including paid campaigns, to maximise reach and engagement
- Play a significant role in podcast production, from researching and booking guests to audio and visual editing
- Strategically planning and executing key events for the organisation throughout the year, ensuring maximum impact
- Design merchandise for our website and oversee the logistical aspect of sales
- Measure and analyse performance and outcomes of campaigns to increase reach and effectiveness
- Correspond with members of the public who write in to us
- Support units across our organisation in the preparation of materials relevant to their areas of work that conform to our house style and brand
- Work with a dedicated team of staff and volunteers in our pioneering Communications Unit

The ideal candidate will either be entry-level or have one or two years’ experience in one of the relevant areas, save that any candidate must be able to demonstrate a graphic design ability.

We are a delivery organisation providing frontline educational services for young people. We are an organisation with team members at different stages of their career, including many in their first roles: We are committed to nurturing talent and providing a developmental culture for all. Our team works in-person 4 days per week (or 3 days for a 0.8 FTE staff member) with 1 day working from home.

This role will be based at our Head Office in London.
Salary:
£30,000 (for candidates with no/ limited fundraising experience) up to £32,400 (for a more experienced candidate)
Annual Leave:
Full-time staff entitlement, pro-rated for part-time staff: 33 days (inc bank & public holidays) + 3 closure days (two in December and one in July) + additional length of service entitlement (one day per year of service, up to 5 days)
