We are recruiting a Lead Worker to join our City Outreach Team. The team forms a significant part of the borough’s complement of services working with rough sleepers. The City Outreach team works to rapidly reduce the number of people rough sleeping in the borough, by providing short sharp interventions to support people to access accommodation, and ensure that the appropriate support is in place to sustain this.
This role will enable you to use your existing knowledge and experience to move into a role where you will have more influence and responsibility within a team, to work towards quick outcomes, to support rough sleepers off the streets. Working in this team will give you an opportunity to make a real difference to rough sleeping.
You will be responsible for:
- Managing a caseload of rough sleepers, identifying the quickest and most appropriate route off the street, and devising a plan to achieve this, while holding a caseload of your own.
- Conducting regular outreach shifts, with volunteers and partner agencies.
- Representing the team at multi-agency meetings such as Task & Targeting meetings.
- Identifying gaps in provision and researching new pathways off of the streets for a variety of rough sleepers, including those with no recourse to public funds.
- Accurately recording all work done.

Tower Hamlets Learning Disability Service provides support to 15 customers all who have their own room with shared facilities. There are two sites: Old Ford Road and Vulcan Square. The role includes enabling vulnerable people living in a variety of different tenures to manage their tenancies/licences, supporting customers with personal care, medication and moving towards greater independence within the community by providing a flexible and individually tailored support pack. Support is provided from 7am-11pm, with sleep-in at both sites, and customers receive varying levels of one-to-one support hours.

Mary Jones Court is a supported living project for adults with learning difficulties. Accommodation is provided for up to 20 customers, aged 20-65, with a variety of support needs. Each flat is self-contained, including three on the ground floor which have been adapted for customers with mobility issues. The staff team operates a 24-hour rota and is skilled at working with people who have mild to moderate learning disabilities, as well as other issues such as drugs, alcohol and mental health.

Support Worker's will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service. About the Service
Our Crisis Intervention Team provide front-line support to Solace’s Advice, Community and Accommodation-based Services across London. Crisis Intervention Workers enable our services to deliver a consistent, high standard of service. The team was created in order to have trained, skilled staff ready to cover gaps in service and facilitate the continued smooth running of services, proactively supporting women and children who have experienced domestic abuse. About the Role
As a member of the Crisis Intervention Team, you will:
-cover vacancies in a variety of roles, providing a high quality support service to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. This role is an excellent development opportunity which will allow you to gain experience in a wide range of services.
• - Attend case review and team meetings and contribute towards effective team communications
• Champion Solace’s Equality and Diversity and ensuring human rights and equality is the centre of your work
• Be a voice for service user feedback, delivery and shape future development.
The length of a placement within a service can range from several weeks to a few months. You will receive a local induction to the service at the start of the placement.
For all roles, you will carry out risk and needs assessments, safety planning, and individual support planning with survivors as well as advocating on behalf of service users with external agencies, implementing the empowerment model and a strength based approach. All work should be service user led and trauma informed.
Within Community Services, you will typically fill roles as a Caseworker or IDVA. As a Caseworker you will provide user led one to one support. As an IDVA you will also contribute to the local MARAC process to improve survivor safety.
Within Accommodation Services you will typically fill the role of Refuge Worker. You will ensure the smooth running of the refuge, including the admission of survivors of domestic violence to the refuge. You will work with women to devise a support plan that meets their immediate practical and emotional needs and starts the process of recovery, linking women into more specialist support services where required.
As a member of the Advice Service you will provide an effective and efficient advice and casework service to women affected by VAWG. The responsibilities include working on the advice line on a rota-basis and providing accurate advice, support, advocacy and casework to women and girls affected by all forms of VAWG as well as professionals. The role also includes supporting and supervising our volunteers on the line. Ensuring the duty inbox is checked and the referrals are processed.
