Location: This is a woman only residential site, located in Brixton (South-East London) and benefits from great transport links, including convenient access to nearby train services. Kindly be aware that step free access is not available at this service.

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a rota varying 08:00 - 16:00 and 09:00 - 17:00, you may need to work outside these hours, including bank holidays as per service requirements. You will also take part in our out of hours on call rota for managers.

HerStory House is dedicated to empowering women with the skills needed to thrive in their chosen communities, maintain independence, and build a hopeful future. Our specialised, high-support, female-only residential service is tailored for women who are likely to meet the criteria for a personality disorder diagnosis and are at risk of entering or re-entering the Criminal Justice System. 

You will provide line management and leadership to the team so they feel empowered to be productive and perform well within their roles to a high standard, ensuring service quality and continuous improvement. We’re looking for someone compassionate and experienced in understanding the criminal justice system and offender personality disorder, someone who brings empathy, tailored support and real dedication to help each resident thrive. Role Overview 

The Athlete Learning and Development Manager will design and coordinate a comprehensive learning and development programme for emerging athletes, their parents and caregivers, and alumni. This will be delivered both in person and online. 

This is an exciting time for SportsAid as we expand the support we offer beyond financial assistance, building on the foundations already in place. As part of our evolving approach, we are strengthening the educational resources available to them, ensuring they have access to the guidance and tools they need to thrive both on and off the field. 

The role focuses on identifying athlete-led needs, curating training and workshop programmes, and working with external trainers and providers to deliver impactful sessions that best support SportsAid’s beneficiaries. 

A key aspect of the role is developing educational and training content for the new online community engagement platform we are developing. You will ensure content aligns with SportsAid’s objectives while meeting the priorities of partners funding dedicated hubs within the platform, which will provide training and development content in specific focus areas. You will also help adapt training sessions into engaging, shareable online resources to maximise participation and impact. 

Additionally, you will play a crucial role in planning workshop programmes for key events such as SportsAid Live, ensuring sessions are engaging, relevant, and tailored to the needs of attendees.

Key Responsibilities 

Programme Development

Person Specification 

Essential Skills and Experience 

• Proven experience in developing and managing learning and development programmes, including working with external trainers or subject matter experts. 

• Strong project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes to deadlines. 

• Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with experience working across teams, organisations, or sports. 

• Experience in curating and shaping educational/training content, ensuring it aligns with audience needs and engagement objectives. 

• Experience developing digital learning resources and ensuring effective content delivery on online platforms. 

• A commitment to creating needs-led, inclusive, and accessible training programmes for diverse audiences. 

Desirable Skills and Experience

Quality Assurance and Standards Management

· Support the Programme Development Manager to develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive quality assurance frameworks for all youth programmes, ensuring consistent delivery of high standards across all activities.

· Establish quality indicators and performance metrics for programme delivery, conducting regular monitoring and evaluation to ensure continuous improvement.

· Design and implement quality audit procedures, conducting systematic reviews of programme delivery, facilities, and resource utilisation.

Safeguarding and Compliance

● Ensure that full compliance with safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to.

● Implement comprehensive safeguarding training for all team members, maintaining records and ensuring regular updates.

● Manage safeguarding incidents and concerns.  In the absence of the Designated Safeguarding Leads liaise with external agencies including social services, police, and other statutory bodies.

● Monitor and maintain health and safety standards across all programme areas, conducting regular risk assessments and safety audits.

● Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including data protection, health and safety, and equality requirements.

Data Management and Reporting

● Oversee collection, analysis, and reporting of programme data, ensuring accuracy and compliance with funder requirements.

● Contribute to the preparation of regular reports for leadership team, funders, and external stakeholders on programme performance and quality indicators.

● Maintain comprehensive records of all programme activities, participant outcomes, and quality assurance measures.

The service is across 4 floors, so applicants must be able to use stairs for welfare and room checks. You’ll help ensure the service meets all contract and regulatory compliance, supporting the Head of Service with monitoring and development.

Annual leave: 27 days FTE per annum plus Bank holidays (22 days FTE per annum under the Four Day Week) 

Please note that at Waterwise we work a Four Day Week, under voluntary agreements which all staff members sign. This means that you will be contracted and paid as full-time but you will sign a voluntary agreement stating that you commit to employing efficiency tools both individual and team-wide to deliver and be paid for 5 days work within four normal 9 to 5 days - the office is closed on Fridays. Training will be provided and you will be expected to continue to refresh your training and to keep up use of the efficiency tools. Annual leave is also pro rata’d. Partnerships and Income Manager Role Description

The Partnerships and Income Manager role involves engaging a range of stakeholders to help generate greater impact and income for Waterwise. The Partnerships and Income Manager will be responsible for researching and identifying potential new business opportunities; conducting outreach to new and existing stakeholders to encourage collaboration; building and maintaining relationships with Waterwise partners, sponsors and members; and assisting with developing winning proposals for funding, in order to deepen the impact we make with individuals, communities and businesses across the UK. Our goal is to remove bias from the hiring process and so rather than asking you for a CV and cover letter, we have set up role-related questions which will allow us to assess your approach to a problem and understand what knowledge and skills you have. Your answers will be anonymised, randomised and reviewed by the selection panel. We will use these scores to shortlist for interviews. We also think giving feedback is incredibly valuable for candidates, so at the end of the process, you'll see how well you performed during the application process.

The closing date for applications is 23:59pm on 31st August 2025. There will be a two-stage interview process. First interviews will be held on 17th September 2025 and second interviews will be held on 29th September 2025.  First interviews will be held online via Zoom and second interviews will be held in person in Birmingham (venue TBC).
