The Pituitary Foundation is the UK’s leading charity providing support and information for people living with pituitary conditions, their families, friends and carers. We are based in an office in central Bristol, with some staff and volunteers working remotely throughout the UK. Pituitary conditions are uncommon, usually lifelong and can be life threatening. Conditions include acromegaly, Cushing's, prolactinoma, AVP-Deficiency and hypopituitarism.

It is an exciting time to join The Foundation. We are celebrating our 30th anniversary throughout 2024 and are working towards our ambitious strategy which we are excited to achieve. Our new website, and CRM, combined with robust processes and procedures offers a strong foundation, for a new CEO to build on.

About the Role

This role will combine the ambition of The Foundation without losing the core importance of being a person-centred patient support group, offering kindness and support at challenging times.  You will bring excellent interpersonal skills, as well as financial acumen and an appetite for seeing the best possible service delivered to a wide demographic.

Location: Based in the Bristol office, with flexibility for hybrid working

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000

Reports to: Chair and Board of Trustees

Holiday: 30 days plus statutory bank holidays

Our programme supporting Higher Technical Education has big ambitions. Known as the ‘missing middle’ of higher education in England, we want to see the declines in level 4 and 5 technical education reversed and more providers emerge who can offer high-quality education and training to help people access highskilled occupations. Key to this transformation is the role of Institutes of Technology (IoTs) – collaborations between further education colleges, universities and employers – and we have been working closely with the National Network of Institutes of Technology to support their success. We are looking for a Project Officer to play an integral part in the successful delivery of this programme, as well as becoming an advocate for Higher Technical Qualifications more broadly. 

This role sits within the small Higher Education Team at Gatsby, and you will work closely with the Project Manager and Director of Programmes to: develop and deliver a range of projects to support our programme objectives; represent Gatsby at external meetings; organise meetings and events; and develop strong working relationships with key partners.

Key Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver projects to support Gatsby’s Higher Technical Education programme, with clear objectives and planning, delivering outputs on time and within budget.
• Research, create and write compelling communications that support programme objectives.
• Co-ordinate regular meetings and external events, including drafting agendas, writing minutes, liaising with and organising contributions from external stakeholders.
• Work effectively with other Gatsby programme teams to ensure higher technical education is appropriately represented within their areas of focus.
• Commission consultants/researchers to undertake pieces of work that will inform programme direction.
• Undertake project evaluations to measure success, analysing outputs/feedback and making informed recommendations to improve activity.
• Manage the National Network of Institutes of Technology website and LinkedIn pages, ensuring they remain a compelling national presence with engaging and relevant content.
• Provide administrative and budget support for beneficiary grants and contracts.
• Create and maintain data and contact information relevant to the Institutes of Technology and other key stakeholders in higher technical education.
• Maintain a secure understanding of all high-level Gatsby policy positions and able to communicate them effectively in written form and verbally.

Bristol Old Vic’s Fundraising and Development Department is responsible for building financial sustainability for BOV through securing external funding from individuals, corporates and trusts and foundations.

The Development Officer: Individuals & Corporates will secure income from individuals, through our giving schemes and major gifts,  and corporate sponsors who support productions, engagement and community work and the newly formed literary department. You will steward existing donors to the highest standard and conduct proactive research into potential individual and corporate supporters as well as preparing presentations and proposals to secure their support. This role is vital to the current Transforming Fundraising Strategy as it will work to cultivate and steward individual support and corporate partnerships and provide accurate, targeted research to help shape our wider campaigns and approaches. As part of this role, you will  also produce, briefing notes and due diligence reports for, the Director of Fundraising and Development (post to be appointed), BOV leadership team and Trustees.

The Development Officer: Trusts & Foundations will research potential Trust and Foundation supporters and work with colleagues to prepare compelling, successful grant applications. You will develop and steward a portfolio of Trusts and Foundations and establish a pipeline to ensure continued, growing support from them for our programming and engagement work. This role is vital to the current Transforming Fundraising Strategy as it will work on Trusts & Foundation fundraising and provide accurate, targeted research to help shape our campaigns and approaches.

The Role

As FareShare continues to build broad and successful partnerships with key food suppliers across the UK, the Impact Reporting Officer will play a vital role in managing data and effectively demonstrating our impact to the food industry. This position is central to achieving our mission of saving usable surplus food and feeding communities.

This role is a reporting and systems lead, providing administrative and analytical support to the Food Team with a primary focus on consolidating and managing food volume data. Demonstrating to companies the difference their food makes  in an informative and engaging way is a key driver of continued support and motivation for the food industry. We seek a fast learner who can engage across various internal systems, including FareShare’s national WMS, Power BI, and our CRM Salesforce.

Working closely with the Food Team, the role will extract and manipulate data from our systems, presenting it meaningfully in reports and updates for our key food partners. Additionally, this role will collaborate with FareShare’s in-house technology department (The Info Centre) to champion and support the maintenance and accuracy of systems used within the Food Team, ensuring account records are up-to-date, and live reporting is both accurate and beneficial to account managers while adhering to GDPR policies.

This role will champion the further embedded usage of our CRM system (Salesforce) to better manage multifaceted relationships with our partners across the food industry. Having a clear and aligned view of the relationships across the industry is central to our ability to achieve our ambitions in partnership excellence. This role will both support the teams in keeping the CRM accurate and work with the Info Centre in suggesting and implementing builds and developments to the CRM that enhance our ability to successfully track and monitor key relationships.

Alongside the ownership of our impact data, this role will also contribute to cross-departmental data analytics projects and support the Marketing team to gather qualitative impact stories. Across both qualitative and quantitative impact data, this role will look to translate all of this into meaningful insights for companies that highlight FareShare’s work and ultimately help to deliver more food for those that need it.

Main areas of responsibility

Impact Reporting

• Design, build and implement impact reporting activities across the Food Team, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and alignment with key partner joint partnership plans
• Develop and implement best practices for impact reporting to effectively communicate the difference made by partners’ food .
• Support the gathering of qualitative impact stories, working collaboratively with charity partners and individuals to compile compelling narratives.

You'll have responsibility for securing significant new corporate partnerships (£12k +) for Wigan Youth Zone as well as provide excellent stewardship and relationship management of existing Patrons and Supporters, ensuring support is renewed. You'll work with the Board of Trustees, the CEO, existing Patrons and the Senior Management Team to generate new leads, secure new corporate partners and long-term financial support. We are looking for a Finance and Payroll Officer to join our team. Reporting to the Director of Finance and operations, this role will ensure that appropriate financial processes and systems are followed and developed to support our charity’s sustainable growth and safeguard our financial health. The Finance & Payroll Officer will ensure that financial tasks and transactions are undertaken in an efficient, effective and timely manner and, importantly, that relevant financial information is provided to keep the Senior Leadership Team informed to make the best decisions for the charity. The role will also cover responsibility for all payroll operations, ensuring that all payments are accurate and on time and that appropriate and accurate information is provided to the Director of Finance & Operations, HMRC, pension providers and other external bodies. We are looking for a confident and experienced individual to join our supportive team. Previous charity finance knowledge and Xero is helpful but not essential, above all we want an individual to be tenacious, curious, diligent and show strong initiative.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Research and evaluate new funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, and other grant funders, maintaining a 12-month funding calendar.

2. Cultivate and nurture relationships with funding/grant-making organisations, both new and existing.

3. Develop compelling cases for support for designated projects or organisational areas, tailoring funding bids and applications accordingly.

Experience

World Child Cancer is seeking an experienced corporate and philanthropy fundraiser to join our growing team and play a vital role in improving the chances of survival and quality of life of children with cancer in under-resourced countries.

About World Child Cancer

Over 400,000 children worldwide develop cancer each year. Childhood cancer is most often curable, with over 80% survival rate in high income countries. However, in many low-and-middle-income countries survival rates are often 25% or lower.

World Child Cancer’s goal is to help redress that inequity and improve the chances of children with cancer to survive and thrive in under-resourced countries. We currently work with local hospitals in 12 countries in Africa, Asia and Mexico to enable children with cancer to have equal access to the best possible treatment and care through awareness raising on signs of childhood cancer, providing financial, logistical and emotional support to address barriers to access treatment, training of healthcare workers and advocacy.

Overview of the role

This newly created Senior Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager role will play a key part in raising income from companies and philanthropists to help achieve World Child Cancer’s mission.

You will be passionate about enabling children with cancer to have equitable access to quality treatment wherever they are born. We are looking for someone experienced in corporate and philanthropy fundraising, who is proactive, confident in engaging with high value funders, able to develop strong internal and external relationships, has strong verbal and written communication skills, a collaborative way of working and experience in developing new business.

You will join a small but ambitious and high performing team that contributes significantly to World Child Cancer’s annual income of c. £2m.

Reporting to: Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships
