The South Downs National Park Authority are about to embark on an exciting new challenge! Having taken ownership of an iconic area of the English landscape located on the eastern edge of the park, we will now manage the Seven Sisters Country Park. Our aspiration is to develop the Country Park as a “must see” tourist destination delivering the best possible visitor experience supported by a world-class visitor centre.

We are aiming high to ensure all visitors to Seven Sisters have the best possible experience which exceeds their expectations. We will achieve this by offering a variety of visitor options including providing information and interpretation areas, education opportunities, accommodation – cottages and camping, various food options and the ultimate option of being outside and enjoying all the natural environment has to offer.

We are already established as a forward-thinking and ambitious organisation with our purposes and duty focused on environmental issues. We are actively working to ensure the natural environment, its species and habitats are protected and enhanced and the impacts of climate change are reduced. This project will fully encompass those principles and ultimately work to a carbon neutral goal.

These aims are not attainable overnight and to achieve our vision, initially for the Country Park but with the aspiration for more marketable growth, the successful candidate must bring a high level of commercial acumen to lead the strategic direction in achieving our goals. A clear understanding and commitment to match commercialism with the protection and enhancement of the landscape is also a key part of this role.

We are looking for a strong, commercially aware, people-focused manager with adept emotional intelligence, communication, facilitation and problem-solving skills, as well as an agile, flexible and can-do approach. Good project management and change management skills are important as is the ability to be sensitive yet innovative in terms of income generation. You will also need to be able to work sensitively and collaboratively with all our stakeholders, community groups and the Trading Company Board.
