Help Change Young Lives

At Baca, we support young people who have fled war, persecution, and trafficking, providing safe housing, education, and therapeutic care to help them rebuild their lives.

We are looking for an Operations Assistant to provide effective administrative and operational support across Baca. Working closely with the Operations Manager and teams across the organisation, you will help ensure that our systems, processes, resources, premises and equipment are well managed so that staff can deliver safe, effective and high-quality services to young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support across Baca’s services and departments.
  • Maintain effective systems, records, processes and resources to support safe and efficient service delivery.
  • Coordinate day-to-day operational needs, including premises, supplies, equipment, utilities and procurement.
  • Provide basic IT support, including laptop setup and troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Support staff, volunteers and young people by ensuring they have the information and resources they need.
  • Liaise with suppliers and external stakeholders to meet operational requirements.
  • Support audits, inspections, quality assurance and compliance with relevant standards, regulations and organisational policies.
  • Identify and report operational issues and risks, contributing to continuous improvement.
  • Work collaboratively across teams and in line with Baca’s values, safeguarding requirements and policies.

About You

You will be a highly organised, practical and dependable individual who enjoys supporting others and getting things done. You will be confident managing routine administration while responding effectively to changing priorities and unexpected operational needs.

You will have a positive, collaborative approach, strong attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly and sensitively with colleagues, young people, suppliers and external stakeholders.

You will be committed to safeguarding and to creating safe, welcoming and inclusive environments for young people who have experienced migration, trauma and displacement.

What We Offer

  • The chance to make a meaningful difference
  • A supportive, values-driven team
  • 33 days’ holiday (pro rata), pension, wellbeing support, and more

How to Apply

If you are passionate about creating lasting change for young people, we would love to hear from you.

Please note: You must have the right to work in the UK.

A full UK driving licence, or a licence that legally allows you to drive in the UK, is desirable for this role as it involves regular travel to Baca properties and the procurement and transportation of items required to support service delivery, activities and operational requirements.

Successful candidates will be asked to apply for an Enhanced DBS Certificate including a check of the children’s barred list.
