Job Summary 

To ensure the appropriate care and protection of children and adults at risk, who are using Mental Health Innovations (MHI)’ services, and to take appropriate actions to safeguard those identified as being at risk of significant harm.

Key Responsibilities

• Alongside the Designated Safeguarding Lead/Safeguarding Manager, contribute to ensuring that everyone working or volunteering with children, young people, and adults at risk of harm at Mental Health Innovations understands the safeguarding policies and procedures and knows what to do if they have concerns about a child’s or adult’s welfare.
• Implement Mental Health Innovations’ safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring all concerns are responded to appropriately.
• Deliver training to the MHI workforce around safeguarding processes and thresholds.
• Respond to information that may constitute a safeguarding concern for children or adults at risk of harm, including:
  • assessing and clarifying information
  • reporting and recording safeguarding issues as they arise
  • responding to and supporting staff who raise concerns live in the moment on the Shout/The Mix platforms, including counsellors
  • making referrals to statutory organisations as appropriate
  • consulting with and informing relevant members of the safeguarding management team
  • following the organisational safeguarding policy and procedures
• Be aware of PREVENT concerns and ensure the Prevent Duty is followed and adhered to.
• Regularly liaise with, share information with, and, when necessary, make formal referrals to statutory agencies such as social services, police, and ambulance services.
• Keep and maintain accurate records of safeguarding concerns for both young people and adults at risk of harm.
• Work closely with the Head of Safeguarding and Safeguarding Manager to ensure they are kept up to date with safeguarding issues and are fully informed of any concerns.
• Be familiar with multi-agency working and ensure adherence to statutory guidance and processes in line with MHI policies and procedures.
• Have a sound understanding of safeguarding, keeping up to date with relevant changes and common trends/concerns regarding children, young people, and adults at risk of harm. Attend regular training relevant to safeguarding children and adults at risk of harm and share the learning with the wider MHI organisation.
• Attend team meetings, supervision sessions, and regular one-to-one sessions as arranged.
• Facilitate safeguarding workshops and drop-in consultations to support the ongoing training and development of Mental Health Innovations’ employees.
• Facilitate reflective practice and debrief sessions for the volunteers of MHI.
• Work flexibly as required and carry out any other reasonable duties.

AAFDA was founded by Frank Mullane in memory of his sister Julia Pemberton and her son Will who were both killed by her ex-partner in 2003.

Each year, around 150 families lose a loved one to domestic homicide. The actual number of suicides as a result of domestic abuse remains unknown.  Most of these families suffer significant problems including relationship breakdown, job difficulties/loss and mental and physical health issues. We help these families in many ways, our prime function being to provide families in England and Wales with specialist peer support and expert and specialist advocacy for the range of statutory reviews that will take place after domestic homicide.

AAFDA (Advocacy After Fatal Domestic Abuse) is a growing Charity and to meet the demands of this growth, we are looking for exceptional candidates to join our team in a highly rewarding opportunity. Although home based, some travel will be required - frequency will be commensurate to the role. manage families’ expectations of the legal and procedural processes facing them by supporting families in meetings with agencies such as health, police and local authorities.
give families practical help on a wide range of issues - including help with letter writing or advocating with employers and local authorities on the families’ behalf.
Support AAFDA in our bringing families together in AAFDA’s peer support events, such as the Hear Our Voice weekend and the on-line peer support Zoom sessions, where families can speak with others to share their experiences and stories. This will involve occasional evening work.

Eligibility

The gross annual salary for this role is £56,098 per annum based on working full-time.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a self-motivated, personable, and enthusiastic individual to work as part of a team to support and grow our lifesaving clubs as well as developing and grow recognition of and participation in Lifesaving Sport.

Pivotal to the role will be the collaboration with external agencies and clubs in Scotland, to strengthen and publicise our water safety education throughout the region together with supporting the needs of clubs in the region.

KEY TASKS, ROLES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To build and maintain productive relationships with organisations involved in the field of water safety, particularly with Water Safety Wales, Water Safety Ireland and associated partners including attendance at relevant meetings
• To actively recruit and increase the number of clubs affiliated to RLSS UK
• Understand the water safety and drowning prevention geographical landscape across Wales and Ireland and actively seek to enhance lifesaving provision in areas of low activity
• In partnership with the Volunteering and Events Team and Sports Committee, continue to develop and grow participation in Lifesaving Sport
• Support clubs to achieve and maintain the appropriate accreditation in line with RLSS UK requirements and policies

Team background

The Mental Health Crisis Breathing Space (MHCBS) team at Toynbee Hall is part of a national initiative launched in partnership with We Are Group and The Kaleidoscope Plus Group, funded by the Money and Pensions Service (MaPS). This service provides individuals undergoing mental health crisis treatment with temporary protection from debt collection activities, allowing them a “breathing space” to focus on their recovery without the immediate pressures of financial obligations. Toynbee Hall contributes to this initiative by offering regulated debt advice, conducting renewal checks, and providing comprehensive signposting support, ensuring that clients receive holistic assistance during their crisis period.

Job purpose

As a Debt Advisor (Omni-Channel: Telephone & Video), your primary role will be to provide over-indebted clients with tailored debt advice through various channels, including telephone, WhatsApp, and our network of video advice kiosks located in prisons, hospitals, job centres, town halls, and other community settings. You will help clients start their debt advice journey efficiently, ensuring they receive accurate and effective support.

We are recruiting a Challenge Events Fundraiser to grow PAPYRUS’ challenge event income by leading on allocated PAPYRUS own events, projects and campaigns and managing all third-party challenge events.

What you will do:

• Develop an events plan that will grow income using data from previous years to understand our supporters and build a creative and sustainable income plan for long term growth.
• Build and manage relationships with supporters across all communication channels and provide professional, relevant, timely and empathetic stewardship at all times.
• Raise awareness of PAPYRUS and its work by developing and delivering presentations and talks both online and face to face to supporters and facilitating necessary photo opportunities in line with GDPR for use if future promotional activity
• Manage costs and budgets for events, including forecasting, estimates and future year planning.
• Be proactive seeking out new initiatives and market trends in fundraising across the UK charitable sector.
• Participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of PAPYRUS challenge event fundraising assets, collateral, materials, and policies and procedures ensuring all content is on brand and to a high standard.
• Working with colleagues in Business Support Services to use the data collected across all donation platforms to analyse and inform required reports and update existing reporting mechanisms.

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Previous experience of working in a fundraising role for a UK registered charity

The National Society for Education (NSE) is both an NCI and a Royal-charter charity. It's aims are to support Church schools and the wider education sector by developing leaders, shaping policy and growing faith.

The NSE leads the Church of England's national work in education in partnership with 41 Diocesan Boards of Education and approximately 4,700 Church of England schools. We also support the national education work of the Church in Wales, which includes around 150 schools. Our presence extends to work with community schools and academy trusts, as well as higher and further education through numerous chaplaincies, providing spiritual support and guidance to children and young people, and to adults.

The Church of England's Vision and Strategy for the 2020s has three priorities, one of which is to be a church which is younger and more diverse. We Are Survivors are looking for a Nightingale Navigator to join the team. You will support the direct delivery of our Nightingale services that supports the non-offending family and loved ones of survivors who are engaged in the Criminal Justice system.

You’ll play a key role in supporting clients, managing communications and working in partnership with all Nightingale Project members. You will work closely with our Independent Sexual Violence Advisors, Community Development Co-Ordinator’s to provide support at different parts of a victims Criminal Justice journey, as well as supporting the development and delivery of community-based interventions for their families and loved ones. All staff have a thematic leadership area to expand the organisations knowledge in areas impacting male survivors and their loved ones.
