Head of Finance

Joining the Executive Team and playing a central role in shaping the charity’s future, you will:
- Lead, manage and continually improve the finance function
- Provide accurate, timely financial reports to the CEO, Executive Team and Trustees
- Be Executive Lead for the Finance, Audit & Risk Committee
- Oversee financial accounts, forecasting and reporting for large-scale programmes and estate developments
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including annual audits and reporting to the Charity Commission and Companies House
- Monitor cash flow, reserves and performance against the annual business plan
- Contribute to cross-organisation strategy and support colleagues on shared initiatives

About you
You’ll be a qualified accountant with senior finance leadership experience, ideally gained within a charity. You’ll bring:
- Confidence in leading finance operations and processes with strong attention to detail
- Experience of statutory reporting, VAT (including partial exemption) and financial compliance in a charity setting
- The ability to explain complex financial information clearly to colleagues and trustees

What will I be doing?

Partner with senior leadership as well as scientists, philanthropy and operational colleagues to develop and implement strategies for the campaign; guide discussions with senior leadership on campaign strategy and develop a multi-year campaign plan.
Inspire and engage the multiple stakeholders of the Campaign, ensuring that everyone involved is engaged, has a clear understanding of what is expected of them, particularly working in partnership with colleagues in philanthropy, communications, scientific leadership and CRUK.
Develop an inspiring campaign identity and case for support, and donor centric propositions and gift opportunities, aligned with institutional priorities, supported by insight from a feasibility study.
Oversee the operations of the Crick philanthropy programme and campaign, working with CRUK colleagues to monitor effectiveness and implement improvements as needed. About this key role
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team to identify and assess young victims of violence, you will also provide support, advice and advocacy for children, young people and their families as they plan to be discharged from hospital back into the community. You will produce support and risk management plans based on your assessments and also deliver a holistic support service, working solo or with colleagues as the situation dictates, to each client. This will include providing practical guidance with social and housing support, accompanying to appointments, ETE options, benefits work, debt advice, DIY work and cleaning.

You will raise awareness of crime prevention and share stories about communities around the country. As we are a small team, we need to be flexible and support each other, which adds variety to the role. One day you might be creating content for our social media channels, and the next you might be welcoming a Minister to the office.
We are looking for a team-player with excellent written, verbal and digital communication skills. You’ll need to have good attention to detail and be proficient in social media and video production.
You’ll also need to be willing and able to help upskill our volunteers to be able to produce social media content. Being a national organisation across two countries, this role may require some travel to get out and about and support our members.

As the national body for youth work, the NYA has a dual function. We are the professional statutory and regulatory body (PSRB) responsible for qualifications, quality standards, and safeguarding for youth work and services in England. Job Title: Payroll and Pensions Administrator

About the role
Our People and Culture team are hiring a Payroll and Pensions Administrator to join the team to support with ensuring our staff are paid efficiently, accurately, and on time. You will play a pivotal part of the team to support with the preparation and processing of monthly payroll for all, coordinating effective and efficient end-to-end payroll and pensions administration, plus any additional relevant activities. You will utilise the tools and resources available to ensure we meet the needs of all our stakeholders and comply with legal matters. The role will further include:
- Taking ownership of administrative tasks in the payroll and pensions process, being the point of contact for enquiries in this area.
- Supporting the administrative process of payroll and pensions, including with the database/system, ensure that any problems are identified with the relevant departments for effective resolution.
- Ensure Full Payment Submissions (FPS) within tight deadlines and process for all adaptations are carried out in a timely manner.
- Support relevant colleagues to ensure the correct payments, reports, and returns are made to HMRC, pension providers, and other bodies.
- Work in collaboration with functions within the organisation to ensure consistency of information and process.
- Ensure all data and reporting is updated in a timely manner across the relevant databases on a regular basis and fit the needs of the business.
In this role, you will report to the Payroll and Pensions Manager, working alongside the wider People and Culture team which includes the Generalist team, Talent Acquisition team, Workforce Development, and Talent Development team. About you
