Senior Marketing Manager for Mighty Hikes
1 year fixed-term contract (secondment cover)
34.5 hours per week

Each year we recruit thousands of people to take part in the Macmillan Mighty Hikes, a sector-leading series of hiking events across the UK that have raised over £70m for people living with cancer.

We’re looking for an experienced marketing manager with a passion for project management to oversee the development and delivery of our multi-channel marketing campaign, supported by our media agency.

About the role:

This role is responsible for the development and delivery of our multi-channel media campaign in collaboration with our media agency Zenith, the conception of our creative campaign and management of internal stakeholders to maximise promotional opportunities.

A typical week in this role might involve:

• Overseeing the delivery of project plan tasks across different stakeholders, to make sure everyone is meeting set KPIs and working to deadline
• Managing our relationship with the media agency, monitoring channel performance to make optimisations
• Working with creative agencies to brief and produce assets, using audience insights, that will inspire people to sign up for a Mighty Hike
• Managing expenditure budgets to ensure spend is tracking accurately against different media plans and suppliers
• Using data to report on performance and identify opportunities to drive growth and test new activations
• Leading on meetings with internal and external stakeholders to present the Mighty Hikes and inspire high levels of engagement and support

This role does require weekend work (although not at your desk) as you’ll be out and about cheering on our participants. A full UK driver’s license is preferred and a willingness to drive a van is a bonus. You will be compensated for your weekend work with days in lieu.

About you:

We are looking for an experienced marketing manager with a passion for project management, strong account management skills and a creative eye.

• Marketing skills: experience delivering multi-channel marketing campaigns across paid, owned and earned with a particular focus on digital channels
• Results-focussed: ability to analyse data to report on performance and make decisions for optimisation
• Project management and leadership: experience in leading individuals or teams to deliver a project, setting clear goals and delegating tasks effectively
• Financial skills: proven track-record of hitting financial targets and managing expenditure budgets
• Creativity: has a passion for social first creative and delivering engaging content across different mediums
• Communication: an ability to communicate clearly with a range of different people, with confidence to influence and negotiate to drive projects forwards, as needed
• Relationship management: an ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and external partners, which enable productive collaboration on projects

The Museum is looking for an ambitious and self-motivated individual for the role of Legacy Manager. The role will be key in securing the future of the Museum for years to come, building on and delivering a comprehensive legacy strategy, creating compelling marketing campaigns, and building meaningful relationships with legacy supporters.

Working alongside an approachable and highly successful Philanthropy team, reporting into the Senior Philanthropy Manager (HNWI), the role will be leading and delivering our legacy programme, building on and driving forward our legacy strategy. You will develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels to deliver the legacy strategy, as well as promote legacy giving to a wide audience and cultivating new legators. The role will also steward existing legators, developing relationships and planning events to steward and cultivate. About you

The appointed person will have extensive experience in legacy fundraising and marketing, and successfully soliciting legacy pledges and a proven ability to develop strategy, manage budgets and deliver results. They will have exceptional written and oral communication skills, with an ability to convey detailed information in a concise and engaging manner and be able to establish productive relationships with a variety of funders, prospects and colleagues. This person must be able to work proactively and constructively with colleagues to develop high-quality project proposals and act as an ambassador for the Natural History Museum amongst a range of high-profile external contacts. Finally, they will possess exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills and have an ability to prioritise and meet regular deadlines whilst working under pressure.

Our Infrastructure Systems Manager plays a crucial role in the development, support and maintenance of these systems, implementing the tools and technology we need as well as driving the reduction of IT costs where possible.

This role is responsible for:

• Maintenance of technical infrastructure based on Microsoft technologies
• Automated process creation to ensure systems are monitored and managed
• Migration of remaining on premise systems to Microsoft cloud based solutions

• Ability to work at pace, using initiative, making decisions, and proactiveness in your approach

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. 

This role will be prison based. ROLE DESCRIPTION  

As Finance and Operations officer, you will report to the Operations and Systems Manager and will be a key member of the Operations team. This role is vital to the support of the wider organisation, being the go-to person for financial, HR and IT enquiries.

No two days are the same, you'll play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations while contributing to a range of projects that help drive our work forward. Finance Administration 

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero, including importing and coding invoices for approval, raising sales invoices, and supporting bank reconciliation. 
• Prepare and issue contracts and invoices for colleges, freelancers, and central team members. 
• Manage credit control by coordinating weekly payment runs and liaising with debtors to ensure timely payment. 
• Prepare monthly payroll submissions, including reconciling tutor hours, holiday pay and training. 
• Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports for internal budget holders. 
• Assist with compiling financial information for the Fundraising Team as required. 

HR and Policy Administration 

• Help maintain our policy library, ensuring all charity policies remain compliant and up to date.

• Assist the Operations & Systems Manager in planning and delivering our termly Team Days.

Office tasks  

• Liaise with the Charity we share offices with regarding office facilities and help maintain office supplies and equipment levels. 
• Manage keyholder records, ensuring an accurate log of staff with key and fob access to the office. 

General Administration 

• Monitor and respond to shared mailboxes, ensuring timely and appropriate handling of enquiries or redirecting them as needed. 
• Provide additional programme support where required – including booking conferences and ordering printed materials or resources. 
• Respond to internal queries and offer cross-team support on financial, HR, and IT matters.
