Role Requirements

About the role
We are looking to recruit a Youth Outreach Worker in London for a new role within our UK Safeguarding on Transport Programme. This is a 12-month outreach pilot engaging and safeguarding young people in and around Waterloo Station, helping identify and safeguard young people under 18 years at risk of criminal and sexual exploitation, county lines, missing from home, homelessness or family breakdown. This role does involve working regular unsociable hours including evenings and weekends.
You will be working to identify and safeguard young people alongside trained volunteers and by engaging with key partners such as Southwestern Railway (SWR) Met Police, Southbank Staff, Train Operators, Youth Service and other local stakeholders.
You’ll play a key role in the development of our UK Programme and part of a dynamic team delivering Railway Children’s programme in the UK.

Position Overview: The Funder & Engagement Officer will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between funders and the charities we support. This position is responsible for enhancing funding awareness, establishing and nurturing strategic partnerships, and providing comprehensive support to our network of organisations. Key Responsibilities:
Fundraising Support:

Provide personalised consultations to charities/NFPs we work with to develop and refine their grants and trusts strategies.

Assist charities in identifying funding opportunities and preparing compelling grant applications.

Organise and conduct workshops and training sessions on fundraising best practices, funder engagement, monitoring and evaluation, and grant writing.
Relationship Building:

We are seeking a home-based Communications Officer to join RSPB Scotland's communications team.
You'll have an interest in or passion for nature and the outstanding communications skills, knowledge and the experience we need to tell inspiring stories of the conservation projects, our network of nature reserves and our colleagues that are striving to help protect and restore nature across Scotland.
What's the role about?
You'll be part of a dynamic team working across Scotland to unearth and tell great stories from colleagues that inspire key audiences about RSPB Scotland’s nature conservation work.
The role is diverse and busy, working on the roll out of RSPB-wide campaigns like Big Garden Birdwatch, managing and creating content for social media platforms, responding to press enquiries and building relationships with colleagues working in different areas of Scotland to bring their work to life in print, blogs, film and more.
The role will occasionally include opportunities to travel across Scotland, including overnight trips and out-of-hours work with Time Off in Lieu provided. Applicants need to be based in Scotland.
The role will demand:
- Building relationships with teams across Scotland, developing understanding of their work, stories and communications needs.

Job Purpose
The Business Support Officer will be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative support to the day to day running of the business. They will support the delivery of projects whilst working with Project Managers. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, the successful post holder will have effective organisational skills and be able to plan/prioritise the delivery of work. They will have strong communications skills, both orally and in writing, and have the ability to establish working relations with a range of stakeholders.

Key Result Areas/Duties
1. To be the first point of contact for the business daily.

Person Specification
Essential
The successful candidate will hold an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification and have GCSEs in Maths and English at grades A–C (or equivalent). They will be computer literate with a solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, and will demonstrate accurate keyboard skills with strong attention to detail.
They will have experience working as part of a team as well as independently, and be confident in managing diaries and taking accurate minutes. They will be familiar with office systems and procedures, and possess a good standard of numeracy and literacy.
Candidates must have extensive experience using the internet and email systems, and have proven ability in organising meetings and disseminating information to stakeholders effectively. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with a professional and courteous telephone manner.
