About the role

This role will manage the delivery of services for people with primary breast cancer. You will be responsible for implementing business plans, maximising access and take-up of services, and ensuring high quality delivery. You will manage the work of a team of Breast Cancer Now staff and contracted facilitators based across the UK. Current services include Moving Forward in-person and online services, and our Speakers Live service.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a dynamic individual who has the skills, experience and aptitude to work with the Trustees to refine and support delivery of The Pixel Fund’s overall vision and strategy, and to be the public face of the charity.The successful applicant will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the charity, currently carried out by a part-time administrator, which position is to be discontinued following the CEO appointment.

We are looking for an individual with experience of working in a leadership role with a board of Trustees, ideally with hands-on experience in grant-making and grant management, including managing a portfolio of live grant-holders.Strong financial and budgetary management skills are also desirable, in particular to reduce the Charity’s reliance on the Voluntary Treasurer.

The Trustees wish to appoint an individual who has a demonstrable understanding of, and commitment to, supporting the mental health and wellbeing of Children and Young People.The role will include upholding the charity’s vision, values and strategic focus, including championing equality, diversity and inclusion across our work.

The appointment is currently offered on a part-time basis of 3 days per week, with the potential to be extended in future.Candidates should note that The Pixel Fund does not have a permanent base and almost all activity is conducted online (including grant management). 

Hours and place of work are flexible, but as all Trustees are based in the South-East of England, that location is desirable. SOS Rape Crisis (SOSRC) is an independent specialist sexual violence charity providing support for adults (regardless of gender), young people and children who have experienced sexual violence and/or child sexual abuse, in Southend, Castle Point and Rochford.

We are part of Synergy Essex, a partnership of three Rape Crisis Centres (SOSRC, SERICC and CARA), funded by the Office for the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Essex to provide a countywide ISVA service.

The Opportunity

This is an opportunity to join a dedicated team providing vital support to survivors of sexual violence and abuse. As a Navigator Project Worker, you will be the first point of contact for individuals accessing Southend-on-Sea Rape Crisis services. You will offer compassionate, trauma-informed, and needs led support, helping survivors feel heard and understood from the outset. Through careful assessment and informed referrals, you’ll play a key role in connecting survivors with the most appropriate services.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide a professional and empathic first point of contact for survivors of sexual violence and/or abuse.

• Offer one-off emotional and practical support, and provide information, signposting and onward referrals.

• Complete initial assessments to identify their needs and most appropriate next steps.

• Keep accurate, timely and confidential records on the case management system.

• Work in partnership with SOSRC colleagues including the Counselling and ISVA Teams.

• Attend team meetings, one-to-ones, clinical supervision, line management and other meetings as required.

Hours: Part Time – commitment of 8 hours per week which must include at least 4 hours on Fridays

Salary: Based on experience; £23- £25 per hour.

Full time salary                      £45,000-48,100 per annum:

Pro-rata’d to                           £9,568-10,400 per annum

The Black Economists Network (TBEN) is a dynamic and progressive organisation dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive community for professionals and students of African and Caribbean descent in economics and related fields. We provide a platform for networking, collaboration, idea sharing, and mutual support. Additionally, TBEN aims to address the underrepresentation of Black individuals in economics and related fields by partnering with other organisations to drive diversity strategies and increase the visibility of Black economists.

The opportunity:

We are looking for a Co-Director to join the team and be responsible for the overall leadership and strategic direction of the organisation.  The successful candidate will work with the Founder and stakeholders to ensure that TBEN fulfils its mission, but also ensuring that it maintains financial sustainability and delivers impactful programs.

This is a brand new role for TBEN and we are looking for someone who can join us and make a real difference to what we are able to deliver.

 

If you have:

Essential:

• Proven experience as an Economist or a field related to economics and related fields;
• Proven experience as a people manager who has recruited, nurtured and developed a successful team;
• Proven leadership and management experience
• Clear experience managing budgets, understanding funding cycles and financial reporting
• Excellent communication and relationship building skills;
• An in-depth understanding of – and a passion for – promoting diversity and inclusion;
• Experience of working collaboratively and making strategic decisions;
• Excellent organisational skills, multi-tasking and prioritising across multiple projects
• A minimum of a Degree in Economics or closely related within the economics field or relevant transferable qualification in Economics
• Commitment to TBEN’s mission; a deep understanding and passion for promoting racial equity and economic empowerment within Black communities
• Right to work in the UK.

 

Desirable:

• Organisational experience within a non-profit organisation, think tank or research organisation or an organisation focused on economic development or social justice
• Fundraising or partnership experience
• Experience securing grants
• Building strategy partnership
• Public speaking
• Strong financial acumen and understanding of non-profit funding models;
• Experience in event planning and management;
• Experience of working in the charity sector;
• Economics related qualification.

Sustainable Living Project Manager 

Salary: £35,500p.a. FTE

You will help design and undertake ongoing monitoring and engagement to ensure that we understand the impact of our offer, and that we can report on it and learn from it. Alongside this, you will work with colleagues to ensure that the project is suitably funded into the future. As the project progresses, there will be additional scope to grow and shape the project dependent on funding.

Introduction

Iswe is a social impact foundation dedicated to finding ways to put people at the heart of social and political decision-making to solve some of society’s greatest challenges. 

We are seeking a motivated, resourceful and conscientious Front-End Developer to join our small digital product team, working on Assemblis - a hugely ambitious global platform to strengthen community-led decision-making - as it moves from a working prototype to a fully fledged product used by community groups worldwide. We are looking for some eager to have an impact, both on the product they are building and on the world.

The period from 2025 to 2026 presents a unique opportunity to scale the use and impact of Assemblis around the COP30 UN Climate Conference—set to take place in the Amazon at the end of 2025—by leveraging strategic relationships, including key support from the Brazilian government.

About Assemblis

Assemblis will support communities across the world to run community gatherings, deliberate on shared challenges, and make collective decisions. The platform combines step-by-step guidance, storytelling features and data aggregation, enabling community groups to deliberate meaningfully, share their insights and connect with each other.  Our vision:

A world of resilient local communities that have the tools and confidence to make fair, effective decisions, through community assemblies that facilitate learning, build solidarity and have clear pathways to local and global action.

Assemblis will support people to deliberate on challenges and act together in their communities, whilst building a global picture of citizen needs, actions and solutions, which will inform global decision making. One of the ways it will do this is through the Global Citizens’ Assembly - a permanent institution that Iswe and partners are building.

A Global Citizens’ Assembly for COP30 to be launched in Brazil in November is the key opportunity to pilot Assemblis. We are currently testing a minimum viable product (functional prototype) with small sets of global users, and are looking for someone who can lead the iteration process, with the goal of an alpha launch in Climate Week in September.

Assemblis’s vision - A world of resilient local communities that have the tools and confidence to make fair, effective decisions, through community assemblies that facilitate learning, build solidarity and have clear pathways to local and global action. 

Main duties

• Work directly on the web frontend application for using Typescript, Svelte.js, and Tailwinds CSS

• Ensure scalability, performance, and maintainability using coding best practices that prioritise high code quality

• Produce performant web solutions to allow the platform to be used effectively in global regions with low-bandwidth, or limited access to consumer technology

• Build features and applications with a mobile-first approach to responsive design

• Work with a close focus on accessibility, compatibility with screen-readers, and adherence to WCAG Guidelines

• Write effective tests to cover functionality and support future development

• Contribute to product decisions to help prioritise the most important features and solutions for our users world-wide

• Troubleshoot and debug issues, providing timely resolutions and maintaining the stability of the application

• Support other Iswe websites, built using Craft CMS

• Collaborate via Slack, Trello, documents, and frequent video conferences

Your skills and experience

Essential skills and experience

• Previous experience in front end development

• Deep understanding of Javascript, preferably with a strong grip on Typescript

• Deep understanding of modern web standards, CSS, and cross-browser compatibility

• Experience using source control, agile methodologies and other collaborative workflows

• Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Experience working with UI design systems, and from Figma design files

• Experience integrating with RESTful APIs

Desirable skills and experience

• Pro-active attitude, with the ability to work both autonomously and to collaborate remotely

• Experience working in a small team, ideally having worked in agency or start-up environments

• PHP experience

• Experience building isomorphic web applications and SSR

• Experience with security and data protection best practices

• Experience with data visualisation libraries such as D3.js

• Understanding of front-end state management

• Experience with Agile methodologies: capability to work in an Agile environment, delivering in sprints, responding to change, and collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

• Prior involvement in projects related to citizen engagement, deliberative democracy, or civic-tech platforms
