We are looking for our next Finance Manager / Senior Financial Controller, someone who shares our compassion for animal welfare and wants to play a central role in stewarding Mayhew’s financial resources for the greatest impact.
Reporting directly to the Chief Executive, you will work closely with senior colleagues across Mayhew—including members of the Senior Management Team—to support strong financial direction, responsible stewardship, and effective, mission‑driven decision‑making across the charity.
This is a highly visible and hands‑on leadership role. You will lead Mayhew’s day‑to‑day finance function, ensuring strong financial controls, good practice financial management, and timely, accessible financial reporting for colleagues, trustees and partners. You will be responsible for all aspects of financial planning, management accounting, statutory reporting and SORP compliance, as well as supporting operational teams with practical financial insight and advice.
You will also help develop and strengthen financial systems and processes, recognising that—as a mid‑sized charity with evolving needs—Mayhew continues to refine its structures to best support our work. You will lead and support a small finance team, modelling an open, collaborative and hands‑on working style.
Our London site—our historic rescue and rehoming centre—is at the heart of our UK operations. You will collaborate with colleagues across operations, veterinary services, fundraising, people and engagement to ensure financial clarity underpins good decision‑making as we continue to care for dogs and cats in need.
In this role, you will:
- Lead, direct and deliver all aspects of Mayhew’s finance function, ensuring strong, proportionate controls and high‑quality financial information.
- Engage, influence and collaborate with senior colleagues and trustees to support the effective delivery of our strategic and operational goals.
- Provide clear financial guidance to non‑finance colleagues and act as a supportive, trusted partner across the organisation.

To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Strong charity finance experience, including Charity SORP (FRS 102), fund accounting, statutory reporting, financial planning, budgeting, and knowledge of VAT and Gift Aid.
- Hands‑on experience of month‑end accounting, financial controls, cashflow management, and management accounts preparation.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate financial information clearly for non‑finance colleagues and trustees.
- A collaborative, supportive and pragmatic working style, with confidence to improve processes and work flexibly within a smaller organisation.
- Experience leading and developing a small team through open, positive and supportive management.

You have a strong understanding of recovery principles and varied recovery approaches, with experience supporting individuals with mental health and dual diagnosis needs. You are confident in crisis management and able to communicate with dignity and respect. You hold knowledge of relevant legislation, including CPA processes, and understand safeguarding responsibilities and how to respond appropriately.
You work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with the ability to support and induct new peer staff and volunteers. You can collaborate with statutory services such as the NHS and maintain awareness of health and safety requirements within frontline settings. You are flexible and able to work early, late, weekend, and bank holiday shifts to meet 24-hour service needs.
You also bring strong IT, literacy, and numeracy skills, with the ability to produce clear written communication and use MS Word, Outlook, and online systems confidently.

You will be working Monday to Sunday on a shift rota starting from 08:00 until 23:00 at the latest

Citizens Advice Southwark provides outreach advice service in hospitals across South East London as well as from our main offices in Peckham and Walworth. We are seeking to recruit a senior welfare benefits advisor who will have lead responsibility for the day to day running of the welfare benefits advice service including line managing other welfare benefits and hospital-based advisors and volunteers working on the services. You will also undertake casework, assisting clients to access their entitlements to welfare benefits and other sources of financial help.
You must:
- Have experience of supervising and supporting other advice workers (paid staff or volunteers)
- Be able to take responsibility for the delivery of a high-quality advice service
- Have substantial experience of managing your own case load of complex welfare benefits cases and an in-depth knowledge of welfare benefits including those related to disability and sickness.
- An understanding of the issues facing people affected by long-term illness and disability.
- Understand, empathise and be committed to the Citizens Advice Service aims, principles and equal opportunities policies

Salary: £29,447 per annum + 9% pension contributions

Combine your passion for nature with your digital skills! We’re looking for a talented communicator who can tease out stories from across the Trust and turn them into compelling social media content. You might be out and about across Cumbria, gathering content at our sites and with project teams, or in the office putting together videos and infographics.
You’ll need a strong understanding of the social media landscape and an ability to select and tailor content for different channels, finding ways to increase supporter engagement and reach diverse audiences. You’ll also be great at explaining your ideas – from the serious to the silly – and getting people involved.
Our ideal candidate is a first-rate copywriter with confident photography and videography skills. You’ll need to have experience with video editing and graphic design tools, and plenty of creative energy to keep our content fresh.
You’ll work closely with our Digital Engagement Manager and will have access to a training budget to help improve your skills.
Key responsibilities:
- Planning and creating content for our social media channels, to support the Trust’s objectives and communication strategies.
- Liaising with staff from across the Trust to understand the scope of our work and ensure that project communication requirements are fulfilled.
- Communicating effectively and consistently with staff and other key stakeholders to ensure engagement remains high and the impact of social media is clearly understood.
- Identifying opportunities to widen our reach and impact, from working with influencers to developing a Cumbria Wildlife Trust presence on new channels.

Role outline and purpose
A Senior/managerial Salesforce role accountable for driving forward the continued rollout, design, build and development of Salesforce and related applications; aligned with the Trusts strategy, values and goals.
This role is part of Trussell’s Knowledge Transformation programme, the goal of which is to gather and curate our collective knowledge as Trussell and food banks, and equip people to harness this knowledge to drive forward our mission. As a member of an enabling programme, this role is focused on the successful delivery of the Knowledge Transformation programme outcomes, which underpin and enable the outcomes of our 5 external programmes - together contributing to the fulfilment of our long term vision of a UK without the need for food banks.
Role responsibilities
· Create, document and prioritise application requirements by working together with team subject matter experts and end-users to develop new functionality.
· Work with management, strategic planning and end-users to automate business processes.
· Strong knowledge of Salesforce automation (such as workflow rules, process builders and flow) is integral to the role.
· Manage multiple Salesforce project streams, identifying projects which require assistance from the implementation partner, and manage projects from pipeline to production.
· Own the development and configuration function by becoming a technology ambassador for the solution, demonstrating its ‘use of’ cases, and ensuring Trussell gets the best return on its investment by using the platform to its fullest extent.
· Create and maintain documentation on processes, policies, application configuration and help related materials as database applications are developed.
Person Specification
Technical skills and minimum knowledge:
· Salesforce Certified Administrator/Non-profit Cloud Consultant
· Track record of Salesforce deployments, releases and environment management
· End to end lifecycle process management of Salesforce Application development
· Working with internal customers and external vendors to gather requirements and design technical solutions
· Previous experience as a Salesforce Administrator
