What is an Inventory volunteer?
The RAF Museum has many items in its collection which are not currently on display. Our inventory volunteers will ensure that we have an up-to-date record of all the items in our reserve collection, their purpose and condition, to help us prepare to move from our current store outside Stafford to a new storage facility in Cosford. This is a weekday only opportunity.
This role sits within the RAF Museum’s Midlands Development Programme which will transform our museum and our impact on the local community through a series of phased projects – engaging audiences who may not obviously identify with the RAF story by finding common interests and histories which link them. As part of this project, we are planning a new learning centre, outdoor spaces, collections hub and major exhibition.
What will I be doing?
The Inventory Volunteer role could encompass various tasks, which might include:
· Assessing objects’ condition
· Measuring and weighing items
· Undertaking cleaning as required
· Object photography
This role is perfect for you if you…

How much time would I need to commit?
Ideally a half day (09:00 to 12:00 or 13:00 to 16:00) once a week, although other arrangements can be considered on a case-by-case basis. We would ask that volunteers commit to a minimum of 20 volunteering sessions. This is a weekdays only opportunity.

This is an excellent opportunity if you are interested in clothes & fashion, photography or e-commerce. The time you dedicate would ensure that we made the most of the incredible donations to our charity shops, which means more funds can go towards our vital animal welfare work.
Our shops play an essential role in raising the profile of the RSPCA in our local community and funds for our branch so that we can continue our vital animal welfare work. Our shops sell a mixture of donated items, including clothes, books, bric-a-brac and collectables, and a selection of new items.
Online Sales Volunteer responsibilities
- Researching and listing the items for sale in our dedicated Vinted store.
- A picture is worth 1,000 words so ensuring that attractive photographs are taken to boost sales.
- Packaging items appropriately before posting them to the buyer.
- Maintaining accurate records of listed and sold items.
What we are looking for in our Online Sales Volunteers:
- Basic knowledge of any online selling platforms (Vinted, ebay, Whatnot)
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to take clear photographs and write accurate descriptions
- Basic computer skills, including familiarity with email and online payment systems
- Good communication skills and a friendly, helpful attitude
- Someone who is flexible and can offer an ongoing commitment
- Work both remotely and at our New Bradwell Hub

We’re looking for an exceptional leader to become our next Chair of Trustees — and help shape the future of Little Village.
What began as a grassroots response has grown into a London‑wide baby bank network, supporting thousands of families every year. But with more than one in three children in London living in poverty, our work — and our ambition — has never mattered more.
Over the next chapter, we plan to expand our reach across London and scale our advocacy, including our national leadership as a co-founder of the Baby Bank Alliance, to drive lasting systems change for families experiencing poverty.
As our current Chair’s term comes to an end in early 2027, we’re seeking someone with strong governance experience, strategic vision, and a deep commitment to social impact — someone ready to help lead an organisation with growing influence, reach and responsibility.
We’d love to hear from you if you:

Have experience chairing boards, committees or senior leadership meetings.

Have strong understanding of governance (best practice)

Have experience of charity fundraising and income generation

Can commit the time and expertise to play a key role on our Board.
