Finance Manager 
We are seeking a Finance Manager to join the growing Reaching Higher team and bring our finance function fully in-house. We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented professional who will play a pivotal role in ensuring strong financial systems, accurate reporting, and sound financial planning. The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record in financial management and governance, budgeting and forecasting, payroll and pension oversight, and the ability to provide clear strategic insight and analysis to support organisational growth and sustainability.

Purpose of this Role

Our finance functions are currently partially outsourced to an external contractor. Our income has grown significantly over the past five years and our Board have now decided to employ a Finance Manager and bring financial expertise in-house. In this new position as the Finance Manager at Reaching Higher, you will play a vital role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and planning, payroll and pension management, and financial governance and compliance. You will support all aspects of Reaching Higher’s work and development through ensuring strong financial systems. 

You will work closely with our team to ensure that all day-to-day finance requirements are met, including accurate grant finance monitoring and reporting to multiple funders. You will also work closely with our senior leaders and board to build the charity’s financial resilience and the financial awareness of our wider team.

You will work closely with the Executive Assistant & Administrator and report to the Executive Director, as well as working closely with the Executive Team, Treasurer and wider Board. 

About Reaching Higher 

Reaching Higher is a youth organisation which works with over 2000 young people aged 9-21 each year across Croydon and surrounding boroughs. Developed in partnership with local churches, we are a youth-led charity with a Christian ethos and this role is restricted under basis of faith.We have a particular emphasis on providing mentoring support to young people and supporting their development as leaders. We have established strong links with key local, London and UK-wide organisations and our approach leads us into regular working contact with partner schools, community groups and churches.

Qualification 

-AAT or Accountancy body qualified preferred, with at least 5 years’ experience

Experience

-Experience of maintaining accounting ledgers

-Experience of charity accounting & SORP principles

-Experience of a Finance Manager role 

-Experience of using Microsoft packages with excellent IT skills

-Experience of working in a small team

-Experience preparing monthly / quarterly management accounts

-Experience preparing annual statutory accounts and being involved with audit processes

-Experience managing financial operations, planning, reconciliation, reporting and analysis

-Experience of working with and co-ordinating income and expenditure across multi-project budgets

-Experience running monthly payroll 

-Knowledge of a range accounting software – preferably Xero

This is a part-time role of 3 days per week in a well-established charity based in Twickenham. This role would really suit someone who wants to have the opportunity to work flexibly and build their career in the Charity sector.

Richmond Carers Centre has the mission to help unpaid and family adult carers to live a full, active and meaningful life by providing them with advice, information, activities, breaks and emotional support either face to face, by phone or by email to enable them to live well.

As the Adult Carers Activities Coordinator, you will directly deliver our leisure break activity and training programmes. You will plan, deliver, promote and review a programme of activities for adult carers, including outreach activities and leisure events, as well as group work to help enhance carers’ health and wellbeing. The core aim of the activity programme is to provide carers with a much needed break from their caring responsibilities, in a safe and social environment where they can meet other carers and focus on their wellbeing.

You will be someone:

• Has experience of leading/planning activities across a range of subjects/activities

Main Duties include:

• To coordinate and deliver an established activities programme for adult carers with the aim to provide them with a break from their caring role and socialise with other carers to help reduce their isolation.
• To coordinate and deliver a training workshop programme to provide carers with information and advice to support them with their caring role and opportunities to learn.
• To work with relevant professionals to deliver a programme of wellbeing activities, including yoga, Pilates and complementary therapies.
• To recruit, train, support and manage volunteers and paid sessional staff to contribute to the delivery of a selection of the activities and workshops.
• To research and continually develop the activities and training programmes to ensure it is responsive to carers needs.
• To create promotional material to promote activities and training opportunities to carers registered with Richmond Carers Centre.
• To work with Adult Carers Support Team Leader to ensure activities are within budget, achieving targets and meeting the requirements of funders.

Borders Forest Trust (BFT) are recruiting for a new Chief Executive .

BFT is a charity established to restore native woodland habitats to Southern Scotland, an area with the lowest percentage of native woodlands in mainland Scotland. Since 1996, we have been working towards planting trees, restoring peatlands and other natural habitats, enriching the biological diversity of around 31 sq km in the Southern Uplands. They demonstrate large scale ecological restoration in action, and inspire landowners, statutory bodies, local communities and policy makers to embrace this alternative model for land use and conservation.

The charity’s previous Director has led the organisation for five years, and BFT are in a strong position, ready to develop a new organisational strategy and grow. This is a role of great strategic importance to the charity and the role is varied, with a broad remit.  

The Chief Executive role has organisational responsibility for 12 members of staff, some office based but most out and about across the countryside in which BFT works.

This role leads our corporate partnerships work to achieve income targets, grow the opportunity pipeline and develop successful corporate partnerships.

Corporate donor partnerships and income are a key part of the Foundation’s success and our future strategy. We have ambitious plans to grow grant-making through our current strategic cycle 2025-28. Fundamental to this is growing corporate income by building a strong donor pipeline at target levels. We also aim to strengthen relationships with existing corporate donors to increase retention and grow long-term giving.

As Corporate Partnerships Manager, you will shape and update the corporate donor development strategy and corporate funds plan, working with the Head of Operations and Development, Marketing and Communications Manager and CEO. You will manage key corporate partnerships, engage current and potential corporate supporters, and ensure excellent stewardship throughout. A key focus is to foster a culture of new business development by mobilising whole team support.

The successful candidate will have proven experience securing five- and six-figure corporate partnerships, consistently exceeding ambitious targets. Excellent communication skills are essential, with the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders and produce high-quality content to attract new corporate donors and to demonstrate impact of corporate partnerships. You will need to identify and convert new opportunities while effectively managing long-term relationships. The role also requires strong organisational, analytical, creative, and budgeting skills, along with the ability to prioritise competing demands to drive income growth and maximise opportunities.

• Lead the development of a multi-year fundraising plan that drives sustainable, diverse income and enables Crisis to scale its life-changing work — including our new ambition of direct housing delivery.
• Refresh and strengthen the Crisis brand, building awareness, trust and influence across Great Britain.
• Grow a thriving community of supporters, partners and advocates who stand with us to end homelessness.
• Personally steward high-value relationships and inspire others across the organisation to embrace fundraising and engagement as a shared responsibility.
