We’re looking for a Support Officer – based in Northern Ireland – who can help us to complete the delivery of our pioneering The National Lottery Heritage Fund project. This role will support churches of all denominations with maintenance and tourism advice, training and events and be a key contact for churches looking for heritage support in Northern Ireland.

This is a fixed-term role until the end of April 2026, with the possibility of an extension. The role is full-time (35 hours per week); part-time will be considered for the right candidate. You will be home-based in Northern Ireland, with occasional travel to London.

About the role
 
This role builds on work that we have been doing for decades to support and empower LGBT children and young people who have experienced abuse or violence. Your work will enable LGBT people to feel supported, heard and empowered in the face of abuse and violence, and pave the way to a safer future for our community.
 
You will work directly with LGBT children and young people who have faced abuse or violence, offering them a space to talk and think through options, helping them plan what they want to do, and offering assistance in getting what they need from services. Your work will focus on needs specifically related experiences of abuse or violence, including issues such as wellbeing, support with the criminal and civil justice processes, safety planning and support to access to other services which enable survivors to cope and recover. You will be empathetic and thoughtful in your approach to understanding your clients’ needs, while remaining boundaried and mindful of self-care.
 
You will sit alongside our other advocates supporting LGBT people facing abuse or violence. You will work with mainstream services to ensure the voices and experiences of LGBT survivors are represented in order to make change for our community at a local and national level. 3. Identify, nurture, develop and manage new and existing corporate supporters including producing and communicating inspiring funding opportunities aimed at specific organisations.

4. Negotiate and deliver partnership agreements ensuring delivery against agreed targets and a good return on investment for the charity.

5. Monitor income targets and activities for Trading and Corporate fundraising including reporting to the BC Trading Company Board.

6. In conjunction with the Digital Manager, manage BC’s website shop portals and commercial partnerships to ensure a good level of royalties, proactive marketing, and supply of ethically sourced and sustainable goods.

7. Liaise with Communications and PR Team to ensure effective promotion of corporate and business agreements and timely reporting back on campaigns.

8. Update and maintain records of all business and corporate approaches, communications and agreements on the CRM and appropriate files.

9. Advise Branch volunteers where they seek to establish business support for their activities.

10. Where required, develop and/or follow policies and procedures on due diligence, data management, account management, stewardship, and reporting.

Our Youth Development Leads are the heart of our programme delivery and facilitate high quality & impactful sessions for our young people. Reporting to the Programmes & Impact Manager, you’ll work with autonomy to manage your school partners, develop your team of volunteer mentors and collaborate across our ambitious delivery team with a focus on evidence based continuous improvement.

We’re looking to fill four positions in total – two full time roles in London and as well as one part time role in London and one part time role in Manchester.

Contract: Permanent – (probationary period of 6 months)

Salary: £25,000 – £27,500 pro rata

Hours and Annual Leave: 

1. Full time:

   • 2 positions in London

   • 37.5 hours a week with a mixed working pattern: School term time: approximately 3 days 9:00-17:30 and 2 days 11:00-19:30, and School holidays: 9:00-17:30​

   • 29 days per year annual leave - maximum of 5 days to be taken in school term time

2. Part-time (0.8)

   • 2 positions available: 1 position in London and 1 position in Manchester (potential for Manchester position to be full time)

   • 30 hours a week Tuesday - Friday with a mixed working pattern: School term time: approximately 2 days 9:00-17:30 and 2 days 11:00-19:30, and School holidays: 9:00-17:30

   • 23 days per year annual leave - maximum of 4 days to be taken in school term time

About Khulisa: 

Khulisa, meaning 'nurture' in the Zulu language of South Africa, is an award-winning charity dedicated to providing therapeutic support to young people. We focus on reaching those who are most at risk – young people from deprived communities who are often marginalized, vulnerable to exclusion, and at heightened risk of becoming involved in crime.

Our approach centres on safe, exploratory methods that aim to understand behaviour and experiences often rooted in trauma, abuse, and neglect. We deliver intensive therapeutic programs within educational and community settings, empowering young people to confront the underlying causes of their emotional distress and work toward healing. To create lasting, sustainable change, we also work to establish trauma-informed environments around young people by equipping parents, caregivers, educators, and other professionals with the tools they need to offer effective, supportive care. About the role: 

The purpose of this role is to provide high-quality administrative support across the organisation, ensuring the smooth and efficient running Khulisa's day-to-day operations. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Scheduling and organising internal staff meetings and events 
• Providing end-to-end support in Khulisa's recruitment processes
• Managing Khulisa's central mailbox 
• Taking resposibility for Khulisa's invoice management system
• Carrying out monthly payroll administration

The post holder will be required to work from home permanently but be willing and able to easily travel to various locations across the London and the North West as necessary to fulfill the requirements of the role and to engage with stakeholders and colleagues.

What we're looking for:

Abilities/Experience

• Experience in a similar position working across departments and teams to provide support - or a demonstratable ability to do this 
• Experience of using digital platforms for for scheduled and ad hoc administrative processes, including relating or organisation's operations or other functions 
• Ability to perform financial administrative tasks, such as expenses administration, using relevant software
• Excellent organisational and time management skills 
• Ability to prioritise competing commitments and work accurately and methodolically under pressure and work tight deadlines
• Ability to properly deal with sensitive / confidential information
• Experience working within a small but close-knit team
• Demonstrable ability to plan and prioritise own workload with minimum supervision 
• Ability to buy strongly into strategic objectives and reflect passion for Khulisa's work with and for Young People
• Willingness to work occasional weekends and evenings when required 

Knowledge/Skills

• Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets

• Some knowledge of Salesforce or other similar CRMs
