In this role, you will be managed by Greg Pickford. Greg joined ClientEarth in 2018 and is based in our London office.

Main Duties

• Manage a team of 2-3 Finance Business Partners (FBP) supporting Programme teams with the grant portfolio, keeping budgets under continuous review, and providing regular financial information and analysis.
• Contribute proactively with the Programme Finance Lead and the core Finance team in improving programme finance systems and procedures.
• Working with Programme Heads and the FBPs, provide commentary and insight into the Programmes financial position on a monthly basis, flagging material risks and identifying mitigating actions.
• Review the financial assessment of new grant proposals and grant agreements. Ensure that they are in line with ClientEarth strategy and financial guidelines for cost recovery and overheads. Escalate grants or contracts that do not comply to the Head of Finance, Planning and Analysis for sign off.
• Review monthly salary allocation and cost recovery journals prepared by FBPs and ensure that data checks are in place including accuracy of fund balances
• Ensure that the financial aspects, reporting and audit requirements of grant/donor funded projects are aligned with donors’ contractual requirements.

JOB OVERVIEW

The Advice Services Manager will take the lead on BIAS’s day-to-day advice services, managing a small team of welfare and housing advice specialists to ensure that we provide the highest-quality service to our clients. You will need to have experience of delivering front-line benefits and/or housing advice, strong people skills and the ability to build good working relationships with staff and clients, along with excellent organisational abilities to ensure that casework and projects are delivered on time.

In 2025, BIAS is expanding its successful Brent-based welfare and housing advice service into Haringey borough. The Advice Services Manager will work closely with the Operations Manager to build and develop the new advice service in Haringey, ensuring that we replicate our excellent quality of service, strong record of positive outcomes and loyal client base.

This role will also involve working with the leadership team to help identify areas for future development and support grant applications and reporting, which will give you the opportunity to have a direct impact on shaping the organisation’s future strategy and direction.

KEY WORK AREAS AND MAIN DUTIES

Staff management

• Managing a small advice team, ensuring the quality of the advice provided.
• Providing support, supervision and training to staff on the delivery of advice services, ensuring that appropriate advice is provided and casework deadlines are met.
• Ensuring good teamwork and lines of communication between staff and partner organisations.
• Creating a positive working environment in which equity and diversity are promoted and staff can do their best.

Quality and service delivery

• Leading the welfare advice services in both Brent and Haringey boroughs, and contributing to further expansion.
• Maintaining a small personal caseload (approximately one to two days’ work per week).
• Working with the Operations Manager to ensure that BIAS complies with Advice Quality Standard (AQS) requirements.
• Leading on monitoring service delivery, recording outcomes and ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
• Managing all aspects of risk relating to advice delivery, complaints handling, safeguarding and GDPR.

Operational support

• Working with the leadership team as required on operational matters, including planning, strategy for future development and grant applications and reporting.

These are the basic duties required of the Advice Services Manager. However, it is necessary for all staff to be flexible and you may be required from time to time to perform other reasonable duties which are required for the efficient running of the organisation. We will also offer training opportunities to support your career development.

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK. This role will be based in our advice offices in Willesden and Haringey[1] but there may be some options for flexible working (i.e. one or two days per week).

BIAS is a local charity which has supported England’s largest Irish community in Brent for over forty-five years. We deliver our support through our welfare advice drop-in service, our active ageing clubs and our Be-a-Friend volunteer scheme. We raise over £2 million in extra income for the most vulnerable every year and have over 3000 attendances at our club services. BIAS has exciting plans for further expansion in 2025 and has a range of medium- to long-term grant funding, including from Ireland’s Emigrant Support Programme.

Accounting (40%)

• Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and standards, including charity-specific requirements

Operations (15%)

• Responsible for the financial management of grant payments, in coordination with Grant Managers and Grant Budget Holders
• Drive good practice in procurement and manage the relationship with suppliers
• Support the wider Ops team in ad hoc projects and activities

Skills and experience

Essential

• Newly qualified or part qualified, working towards a chartered accountant qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Able to be hands-on in a small finance team

• Fluent in using spreadsheets for financial information

The Service Manager role assumes responsibility for all aspects of SWAN’s West Berkshire statutory advocacy services. This includes IMCA, Paid Rep, Care Act and IMHA. Our Service Manager is also responsible for the delivery of SWAN’s social value projects in West Berkshire.

St Bride Foundation (SBF) is seeking a Collections and Archives Manager with strong project management and collections management skills to support the development, preservation, and accessibility of our library and archive collections. Alongside this our preferred candidate will have excellent people management and engagement skills.

The Collections and Archives Manager will manage the smooth running of the Reading Room, library enquiry services and manage our library volunteers.

Working as part of a small team, the role will involve helping to develop and deliver aspects of the learning programme, especially those relating to engagement with the collections through activities including tours, talks and exhibitions.  

The Collections and Archives Manager will work closely with the Foundation Librarian to oversee library and archival operations, and develop policies to improve storage, accessibility, and preservation.

As part of our wider strategic plans this role is pivotal in ensuring the safe relocation of collection materials, implementing best practices in storage and conservation, and enhancing the long-term sustainability of our holdings.

Key Responsibilities

Access, Research & Stakeholder Engagement

• Support public and internal access to collection materials by providing research services and developing user-friendly finding aids.
• Collaborate with researchers, educators and community groups to enhance the impact of the collections.
• Improve discovery and accessibility of collections through database enhancements and digitisation efforts.

Project Management – Collection

• Manage the care, storage, and documentation of the Foundations collection, including developing and implementing policies and procedures for such projects as inventory audits, collection moves, exhibitions, loans and rationalisation projects.
•  Liaise with contractors, partners and internal teams to ensure the security of collections materials.
• Conduct post-project evaluations and implement improvements for future collection projects.

Collections Management & Preservation

• Develop the collections in line with the Foundations collections policy, reflecting SBFs audiences.
• Work closely with conservation specialists to develop and implement storage strategies that align with best practice standards, improving environmental controls and storage solutions.
• Oversee cataloging, metadata creation, and collections documentation.
•  Manage digital preservation strategies and support digitisation projects to increase access to collections.
•  Develop risk management strategies for collection security, environmental conditions, and disaster preparedness.

Outreach, Engagement & Advocacy

• Contribute to learning and engagement programs, including talks, tours, workshops, exhibitions, and digital content—that promote engagement with the collections across diverse audiences.
•  Collaborate with institutions, community partners, and funding bodies to support and develop collections-based projects such as research projects, youth programmes and oral histories.
•  Work with the wider team to share stories from the collections to support advocacy, fundraising, and awareness campaigns.
• Ensure all outreach activity aligns with the organisation’s mission and values, with a commitment to access, inclusion, and engagement with communities and content.

Policy & Funding

• Assist in policy development regarding collections management.
•  Work with the Foundation Librarian and Fundraising Manager to identify and pursue funding opportunities to support the collections.
•  Advocate for the value and significance of the collections within the organisation and to external stakeholders, including funders, partner institutions, and policymakers.

Team Leadership & Administration

• Supervise, support and manage library staff,volunteer and placement workloads and ensure efficient allocation of resources for ongoing projects.
• Represent the Foundation at professional conferences, meetings, and collaborations with external organisations.

Required Skills & Experience:

• A post graduate qualification in Archives and Records Management.

We are seeking an experienced, driven and passionate Head of Public Fundraising to lead the mass fundraising team to achieve sustainable income growth over the coming years. This includes investment to grow the public fundraising team, develop new fundraising products, recruit new supporters, and increase legacy giving through targeted campaigns. 

We are also in the process of developing our new 5-year fundraising strategy, so you will be instrumental in creating an ambitious new plan to develop a diverse and sustainable mass fundraising portfolio, covering the key areas of donor acquisition, retention, and growth, with a focus on maximising our Challenge and Community events portfolio, and increasing Legacy, In Memory and Regular giving.  You will be responsible for developing and delivering a portfolio of products to grow voluntary income, whilst leading a newly expanded and ambitious team. And you will help shape our data strategy, working with the Head of Digital and other colleagues across the organisation to develop our digital fundraising strategy; embed usage of our CRM and ensure GDPR compliance.

Requirements - Skills and Experience

• Demonstrable experience of strategic leadership and oversight of a mass fundraising product portfolio.
• Proven experience of managing an engaging Community and Challenge Events fundraising portfolio.
• Proven experience of driving Legacy and In Memory giving to create a robust long-term pipeline. Experience of successfully developing and implementing legacy marketing strategies.
• Proven experience of applying the principles and techniques of Individual Giving / Direct Marketing within a multichannel, multi-discipline environment to deliver significant returns and supporter satisfaction, especially through supporter recruitment channels. 
• Experience of fully integrating a CRM database as a tool in the day-to-day work and running of a charity. 
• Demonstrable experience of managing a high performing team, focussing on creating a culture where people thrive as individuals and can be their best selves.
• Experience of managing multi-channel media campaigns by utilising print and digital channels including social media and email.
• Good experience of building effective relationships with internal and external partners, including creative freelancers, media and direct marketing agencies.
• Experience of working with, negotiating with, and managing outputs of external agencies and internal departments, including contractual obligations.
• Strong project-management experience, including managing budgets, schedules, creative development, and supplier relationships for fundraising direct marketing campaigns.
• Experience of setting and managing annual budgets, monitoring, and reconciling results and financial performance in income and expenditure. Providing associated narratives and monthly reforecasts.
• Proven experience of driving effective stewardship programmes to maximising supporter experience.

Requirements - Knowledge

• Excellent specialist knowledge of the principals and methods of Public Fundraising, including Challenge Events, Community, Legacy, In Memory and Individual Giving.
• Understanding of the effective development and use of supporter contact strategies, turning analysis and insight into high performance activity.
• Up-to-date knowledge of current digital fundraising trends, including social media marketing.
• High Level knowledge of Salesforce CRM databases and how best to utilise to steward supporters.
• Knowledge and experience of marketing processes and techniques across varied channels.
• High Level knowledge of legacy administration. 
• High Level knowledge and understanding of charity law in relation to legacy fundraising, GDPR, PECR, data protection and other relevant fundraising regulation.

• Location: We are very flexible! Our hybrid working policy is a minimum of two days per month in our London office unless it’s a role requirement to be in more frequently.
