We are looking for a new Development Officer – someone who brings a passion for hospice care and wants to play a part of driving forward relationship-based fundraising at The Hospice of St Francis.
This is an exciting role for someone who is ambitious about developing new fundraising opportunities and wants to play an important role in growing income at the Hospice.
The opportunity......
You will play a central role in growing income across the Hospice and driving forward new, relationship-based approaches to fundraising.
With a focus on Major Donors and Trusts and Foundations you will personally identify, develop and manage relationships, with a focus on £5-25k+ opportunities.
You will develop a new approach for managing and fundraising from small trusts and have the opportunity to learn and grow through working with the AD for Development on larger opportunities.
You’ll bring creativity and a results-oriented outlook, contributing to the wider success of fundraising at the Hospice.
The must haves.....
- Fundraising Success: At least three years’ experience operating in a Trusts and Foundations role (or relevant transferable skills) and a track record of personally securing and stewarding five figure gifts
- Proposition development: Creative in outlook and with experience of developing donor-centric proposals and reports
- Portfolio management: Knowledgeable in developing and managing a portfolio, and key prospect management tools and systems
- Data management: Experienced CRM user and with working knowledge of Data Protection Laws
The it would be nice to have:
- Institutional Funding or Major Gifts experience: Experience of fundraising from institutions or major donors
- Line management: Of staff or volunteers
- Event management: Experience of running stewardship and cultivation events
- Hospice fundraising: Experience of fundraising in a Hospice setting

Main purpose of post
An Appeal Support Officer is required to support the activity associated with a
major appeal for the charity. The appeal will raise £1.85m enabling a step change
in our support of Weston Park Cancer Centre.
Reporting to and working closely with our Senior Major Donor & Philanthropy
Manager, Appeal Consultant and Head of Fundraising, you will support the
coordination of appeal activity planning, as we undertake the public phase of the
appeal.
Supporting our established Appeal Board, you will coordinate communications,
prospecting and stewardship management of our major donor growth
programme and portfolio, as we build up both our private fundraising phase and
undertake our wider public fundraising activity.
You will help bring together a range of different public fundraising activities
planned for the next 12 months.
Key Responsibilities
Support management of the appeal prospects portfolio, including research,
due diligence checks, profiles development and relationship management
plans.
Coordinate and manage the appeal plan, including all facets of both the
private and public fundraising phases, liaising with appointed agencies and
contractors.
Directly support the Appeal Board with communication, prospecting and
donor management planning, under the direct supervision and guidance of
the Senior Major Donor & Philanthropy Manager and Appeal Consultant.
Act as a single point of contact for public appeal enquires and coordination
of supportive fundraising activity across the internal teams.
Assist in the formulation of personalised stewardship plans and establish
effective systems to collate information about prospective and current
major donors, ensuring compliance with charity law, fundraising policies
and guidelines, GDPR and our organisational policies.
Work alongside the team and support appeal event activity, including
planning, communication and coordination of guests, attending events as
required.
Who you are
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Appeal Support Officer
who would relish the opportunity to work on a transformational appeal that will
help improve and save lives of people affected by cancer in our region.
Experience of charity work and fundraising would be an added advantage in this
role, but we need a confident individual who is not phased with bringing together
different elements of a campaign plan to achieve a defined result.
Playing a key, interim role in the appeal, you will be able to quickly absorb
information, suggest planning solutions and improve efficiencies, while
stewarding the appeal plan, monitoring risks and provide regular status
reporting.

UK for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency's national charity partner, is looking for an ambitious, proactive, team player who can join us as a Senior Officer, Direct Marketing, within the Individual Giving Team.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead on the launch of a new RG proposition and ensure that the onboarding and onward journey is fit for purpose.
- Look for opportunities to thank our donors and communicate impact at key moments.
- Work with key stakeholders to ensure we grow our Regular Giving file, through acquisition as well as retention.
- Manage a variety of individual giving fundraising campaigns, from agency briefing, through to launch, meeting six figure campaign targets.
- Work with digital fundraising colleagues to create integrated, multichannel campaigns and an effective, donor-first giving journey.
- Remain flexible and rapidly respond to emergency situations.
- Work with the Data team to identify the best approach to data and segmentation for each project.
- Manage production processes, developing supplier briefs and managing approval stages and end of campaign reviews.
- Manage donor research and mystery shopping as required, using insights to inform creative decisions.
- Manage campaign fulfilment. Monitor responses to identify issues and opportunities.
- From time-to-time support with Donor Care activities if required.
- Ensure cost effective fundraising, manage individual campaign budgets and identify opportunities to improve ROIs.
- Stay up to date with issues affecting displaced & refugee communities, campaigns from international teams and reports from the field. Scope new fundraising themes.
- Share creative and insights with UK colleagues, global markets and HQ, participating in training seminars, workshops and international skill shares where applicable.

This is a varied and fast-paced role for an outstanding EU Communications Officer with a proven track record of securing high-level media coverage for environmental campaigns and delivering policy impact. We are looking for someone with a passion for our work and the drive, experience and skills to build our audiences, raise the profile of our campaigns and get our perspectives in front of key decision-makers.
This role would suit someone with strong experience in journalism or working in a press office, with a passion for placing impactful stories which drive real-world progress for a more sustainable planet.
You will have a demonstrable ability to understand our audiences and develop communications strategies to reach them. You will enjoy meeting and briefing journalists, enthusiastically reaching out to 'sell' our key stories. You will gain significant media coverage for EJF’s messages in key outlets both across the EU and in individual Member States. The successful candidate will work independently to ensure a steady flow of high-quality press outreach, as well as pitching and writing articles and op-eds to promote our perspectives. You will know which outlets key political decision-makers read, and how to place material with them.
You will be an outstanding writer, and possess superb adaptability and inventiveness to respond to a rapidly changing policy landscape.

Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement integrated communication plans and campaigns to support EJF’s policy work in the EU
- Ensure impactful and consistent coverage of our campaigns, and the issues they cover, in high-profile media outlets
- Prepare press releases and media packs for report launches and external developments, ensuring both proactive and reactive coverage
- Respond swiftly to media enquiries
- Research and actively engage media contacts and outlets, remotely and in person, to increase EJF’s reach, building a database to record and evaluate this outreach
- Work with our communications team around the world to develop coordinated media strategies across geographies and languages
- Evaluate and report on our press performance, making recommendations for ongoing improvement
- Create engaging and impactful content for our various communication channels, including our website, social media, newsletters, and other relevant platforms. This includes writing op-eds and blog articles on core EJF campaign areas
- Uphold the highest standards of scientifically rigorous but engaging writing at all times
- Host press briefings at events with external stakeholders
Essential skills and attributes
- Professional fluency (including excellent writing and editing skills) in English and either French or Spanish
- At least 3 years of experience working in communications, a press office, journalism or similar, with a particular focus on high-level traditional media outlets
- Knowledge of media relations, developing communication materials, writing content for different channels and developing social media campaigns
- Experience of and confidence in dealing with journalists from different types of media to ensure effective coverage
- An effective knowledge of the media outlets read by political decision-makers in the EU, and how to place articles in them
- Excellent copywriting skills, including under time pressure, and the ability to identify a good story, linking current affairs to EJF campaigns
- An exceptional level of creativity and drive to seek out new opportunities to promote EJF’s work
- Outstanding attention to detail and factual accuracy
- Reliable, determined, self-motivated, resourceful and able to work effectively with a small, dynamic, and international team

The programme
The mandate of the Knowledge, Learning and Communications (KLC) programme is to capture, distil and share knowledge and learning to strengthen Foundation’s impact and effectiveness. The programme brings together a range of functions critical to the Foundation’s identity, coherence and visibility including the facility to learn internally; management of information and infrastructure; leadership of the Foundation’s monitoring and evaluation work; and all aspects of our communications and outreach including reporting.
The role
The Programme Officer (PO) will support the effective delivery of the Foundation’s Knowledge, Learning and Communications (KLC) workplan. Working under the supervision of the KLC Programme Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining the Foundation’s websites; planning and creating content for our online channels that communicates meaningful results and tells the Foundation’s story in as engaging way as possible; event coordination, facilitation and promotion; support for media relations; support for annual reporting and results monitoring; and support to Foundation staff in the optimal use of communications tools and IT.
Key tasks and responsibilities
The postholder will undertake the following key tasks:

The individual
We seek an individual with demonstrated experience in communications gained within a comparable field, especially of social media and online marketing, along with experience of using website content management systems. The ideal candidate will also have experience using the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and have a good understanding of Microsoft tools and webinar/virtual meeting platforms. They will have strong writing skills and experience in storytelling and reporting, along with an ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders. They should have an awareness of ensuring brand and style guidelines are reflected across communication activities and be comfortable acting as a first point of contact for media enquiries as well as liaising with colleagues and external suppliers.
What we Offer
Salary expectations: £32,076 - £35,605 per annum

Fifteen percent of your salary is payable tax-free at stipulated periods in lieu of a formal superannuation scheme.

We are based in Marlborough House, Pall Mall, central London. We are currently operating a flexible working policy which requires all staff to work from the office at least five days per fortnight including every Wednesday, and applicants must be able to affirm their capacity and willingness to work within this policy.

Role purpose
This is a new role, where the director will bring together the work of the Advocacy and the Communications teams to lead JCWI's campaigns. The Director leads JCWI’s campaigns and community organising; policy and parliamentary advocacy; working in alignment with directly impacted communities and partners within and beyond the migration sector. The Director builds and maintains strong relationships with key stakeholders, and ensures the organisation’s collective expertise influences political debates and the public narrative on migrants’ rights and racial justice.

The Director provides line management and strategic leadership to the Advocacy and Communications Team, overseeing the direction of the team, overseeing the teams' work and ensuring close, collaborative working relationships across all teams.
The Director is a lead spokesperson for the organisation, representing JCWI and our values at public forums, in the media and within coalitions. They will set the narrative and agenda for public discourse on migrant rights and border reform, lead the organisation’s long-term digital outreach and engagement work and support the team to create compelling and accessible content, driving traffic to our digital channels and converting this into successful supporter and donor recruitment and engagement strategies. They maintain the visibility of JCWI and its messages and protect & promote JCWI’s reputation as a leading voice in the discourse on migration, rights, and racial justice in the UK.

Leadership

Forest Peoples Programme (FPP) is an international NGO that has been working with indigenous peoples and forest peoples since 1990. We work in 18 countries across South and Central America, Africa, and Southeast Asia, with around 50 partner organisations based in the tropical forest belt.
We work directly and in solidarity with communities and peoples, supporting them to secure their rights to their traditional lands, territories, and resources, protect their forests and ways of life, and choose their own futures.
The role
Consistent with our Theory of Change, Forest Peoples Programme’s advocacy and communications strategies are diverse and decentralized. They are generated in a largely bottom-up way with our partners, via our program staff (organised in country and thematic teams). This allows us to be sensitive to local social, political and legal contexts, and partner priorities. It also guides our highly collaborative approach to communications.
Communications at FPP is as much about facilitating exchanges among partners and between Indigenous peoples and forest peoples, as it is about communicating with policy makers, academics, and a broader public. FPP’s core principle of the right to self-determination means that we strive to ensure that FPP’s own ‘voice’ is consistent with the priorities and aspirations of Indigenous peoples and forest peoples. That we compliment and amplify, but neither diminish nor eclipse, the voices of Indigenous peoples and forest peoples themselves.
FPP’s communications team is embarking on a period of restructuring and reorienting. The goal is to become better placed to support a strategic approach to communications in our programmatic and country-focused work, while retaining a core function of handling FPP’s central/organizational communications needs.
As part of that restructuring, this new post of Senior Media and Communications Officer will serve a dual purpose of providing additional capacity in the day-to-day activities of the department, and taking a leading role in rolling out our restructuring plans. About you
This post would suit an experienced practitioner with a good understanding of communicating in a multilingual, cross-cultural, and highly consultative environment. Additional languages (especially French or Bahasa Indonesia) are a distinct advantage.
Essential requirements:
- At least 5 years’ experience in communications work in an international, collaborative, and advocacy-focussed environment. This will have ideally been within an indigenous peoples’ organisation, or NGO, advocacy or international context.
- Experience of work in multilingual and cross-cultural contexts and environments, preferably with indigenous peoples or local communities.
- Strong alignment with FPP’s vision, mission and values, including commitment to human rights (in particular the rights of Indigenous peoples and forest peoples), as well as interest in the interface between the rights of Indigenous and forest peoples, biodiversity and climate protection, political economy, and international affairs. - Demonstrable experience of strategic thinking regarding advocacy, communications and media, and in planning and implementing projects in a collaborative way.

- Strong media relations experience, at national and international levels. An existing network of relevant media contacts is a distinct advantage.

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to join our team as a Community Fundraising Officer to cover the North of the UK. Please note: Full Clean Driver’s Licence is essential for the role
In this role, you will be an integral member of the Events and Community Fundraising Team. You will work closely with a team of field-based colleagues providing support, ensuring the growth of income and development of long-term relationships with supporters.
Your responsibilities will include supporting the Community Fundraising team, with administration as well promoting fundraising products and campaigns, providing an inspiring supporter journey to our fundraisers, and handling and reporting on data.
You will have the opportunity to learn community fundraising skills, multi-channel marketing and supporter journey techniques as well as developing strong admin processes which support the growth of income across the team.
In this role, you will need to be self-motivated and adaptable to the needs of a fast-moving team and workload. Autonomy and creativity will be vital. As the face of the charity, building strong relationships with colleagues and supporters will be essential, as you collaborate with different teams and stakeholders.
You will be responsible for providing a fulfilling and memorable experience to valued supporters. Travel within the region will be required to meet with our supporters, the wider team and assist at events throughout the year (this may include some evenings and weekends).
Main tasks and responsibilities
1. Fundraising Support
· Check current platforms to collate daily registrations and assign to appropriate region
· Manage Facebook donation report through GivePanel
· Monitor Community Fundraising email inbox, contact supporters and fulfil fundraising pack requests
· Assist with the regional running portfolio and steward runners
· Answer and respond to enquiries on the fundraising hotline
· Assist the community fundraising team with admin, marketing, and stewardship
· Manage our offline fundraising materials through our fulfilment partner, ordering replacement materials when needed
· Contribute content for regional social media
· Ensure all fundraising activities operate within best practice, regulatory guidelines and comply with health and safety requirements
· Act as a champion for fundraising compliance across the organisation, including ensuring adherence to the Fundraising Regulator’s Code of Fundraising Practice, the General Data Protection Act and other relevant legislative requirements.

Key Responsibilities
1) Membership and Engagement

Support the implementation of a membership engagement plan to help increase retention and highlight member value.

Help promote Imkaan’s membership offer and communicate its unique value to members.

Assist in managing communication channels and touchpoints for members.

Work with colleagues to ensure member voices shape Imkaan’s influencing work including through policy consultations, parliamentary events, and campaigns.

Support members to take part in key spaces (e.g. local partnerships, national advocacy forums, government consultations).

Help identify way for members to work together and ensure their priorities are reflected in communications.

Build and maintain positive relationships with newer or underrepresented member organisations to ensure inclusive and equitable engagement.
2) Member Services and Development

Help coordinate training sessions, and peer networks for member organisations.

Assist with supporting members' organisational capacity and sustainability planning across the membership base.

Coordinate day-to-day member engagement, responding to enquiries, providing information, and connecting members with relevant support

Person Specification
Essential Experience

Job description and person specification
This is an exciting and varied role that encompasses all aspects of our fundraising activity and will support the development of relationships with our individual donors, Trusts and Foundations, Corporate Partners, and Community/Faith Groups. Our ideal candidate will have experience of working in a charity or other related organisation, in a fundraising and / or marketing team, and will bring relevant, transferable experience to apply to this role. You will work closely with the fundraising team to research, steward, and help secure funding and on your own initiative. Your work will play a key role in enabling our mission to help unlock lasting freedom among women who have survived trafficking, exploitation and other forms of violence.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of our individual giving programme including the planning and delivery of fundraising appeals and campaigns.
- Ensure donations are promptly acknowledged and recorded on our fundraising database, Donorfy.
- Lead the development of our use of Donorfy to record and report on our fundraising data, and manage donor relationships.
- Support the planning and delivery of key fundraising events including our annual Gala fundraising event.
- Conduct periodic and ad hoc prospect research on previous and prospective funders and identify new funding opportunities under the supervision of the Trusts and Foundations Grants lead.
- Support the Trusts and Foundations Grants lead to maintain a calendar of deadlines and reporting requirements
- Coordinate periodic mail outs to Trusts and Foundations in the small/general category.
- Support the cultivation and stewardship of corporate supporters under the direction of the Head of Fundraising.
- Assist with developing corporate partnership proposals, and other communications including periodic newsletters and social
