NDAS provides support to all victims who have been the subject of domestic abuse/violence, supports them through the criminal justice system and offers relevant advice and assistance, both practical and emotional. 

NDAS empowers victims to make decisions, increase their options, their confidence and safety.  Prevention and awareness raising activities are also delivered across Northumberland and counselling to the children of our service users.

Established in 2003, NDAS has a track record of providing excellent services and is a key member of domestic abuse provision in Northumberland.  We have a secure financial foundation and are looking forward to developing our team to continue to provide essential services in tackling domestic abuse.

Purpose of the job

The Finance and Funding Manager has two key functions; financial management, to ensure all financial operations are conducted in line with NDAS policies, charitable governance, and in accordance with HMRC requirements, and fundraising to ensure the financial sustainability of the organisation.

Across both main functions the Finance and Funding Manager will work closely with the CEO and SMT.  Also attending Finance Sub-Group meetings that report into the Board.

Responsibilities:

Finance

· Work with the CEO to produce draft budgets with projected income and expenditure for consideration by the Finance Sub-Group and to be reported to the Board

· Work with the CEO to manage the allocation of costs across the budget and to ensure delivery in line with funding requirements.

· Checking all incoming invoices, preparing payments and process day-to-day financial transactions on Sage 50 Accounts

· Conduct monthly bank reconciliations; investigating and correcting discrepancies and reporting to CEO.

· Maintaining and monitoring investment accounts within the Flagstone account as agreed with the CEO and Finance Group.

· Administer payroll (BrightPay) including statutory payments (SSP, SMP, etc)

· Administering the workplace pension scheme (auto enrolment) ensuring compliance with pensions legislation

· Assist the organisation’s accountant with the preparation of annual accounts

· Continually reviewing and improving the systems in place.

Finance Group and Board of Trustees

· Produce monthly summary finance report and full management accounts for the Finance Group and the Board.

· Preparation of a bi-monthly finance power point report for the trustees

Fundraising

· Identify new funding streams from Trusts, Statutory agencies and corporates, and submit funding bids.

· With the CEO produce and maintain an Income Generation Plan with a timeline setting deadlines for the submission of funding applications

· Work with the SMT to manage and monitor all outcomes associated with each funding stream

· Produce funding applications with informative narrative content and robust data

• Maintain a monitoring schedule and produce reports in line with funder/stakeholder requirements also with informative narrative content and robust data
• Maintain regular communication with funders and potential funders to build strong working relationships and increase funding opportunities

· Support the CEO in developing strategic and operational plans for the organisation

· Assist the CEO and Trustees in developing the Business Plan and keep it updated.

· Monitor and collate other outcomes and achievements of the organisation.

· Attend the SMT and Team Meetings (as needed).

Other

· Upholding confidentiality at all times with regard to the organisation and its members

• Supporting the evaluation, review and implementation of Northumberland Domestic Abuse Service’s policies and procedures Develop productive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders

This is a rare opportunity to lead our Support & Communities teams who provide direct support, practical guidance and other patient focused activities to over 1500 members and their families, UK-wide, whose lives are affected by MPS, Fabry and related diseases.

Ideal candidate

As Head of Support & Communities, you will exhibit strong leadership skills and have significant experience working within a health and social care or relevant field of work.  You will have an in-depth understanding of the needs of those with disabilities, their families and carers. 

You will primarily be responsible for the overall management and development of the teams and the services they provide. As the company safeguarding lead you will have an in-depth understanding of policy and procedure to protect all.  You will be a relationship builder who cares about the community we serve and ensures that the individual (or family) remains at the centre of support. 

You will have a good understanding of managing budgets and able to produce accurate monitoring/evaluation reports. Excellent IT skills and the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver to tight timescales are essential.  You will be self-motivated and highly organised, juggling many strands of work. 

As a team player, you will demonstrate a willingness to participate in the day-to-day activities of the team, have excellent staff management and development skills along with the confidence to motivate and inspire. 

You will have the passion to work with us to develop our services, play an active role in our senior leadership team and work with members and other key departments to move the charity forward to achieve its goals.

This is an essential car user post. The applicant must hold a current UK driver’s licence, with no more than 6 points, have access to a car and be able and willing to drive UK wide as required.

This role is offered on a hybrid basis with a minimum of 2 days in our Amersham office each week. Support Line Officer

The Support Line Officer will support the delivery of the organisation’s Support Line service, responding to enquiries from service users, organisations and health care professionals across a range of topics related to spinal cord injury, and contributing to the provision of written information, including factsheets and articles for SIA’s bi-monthly magazine and website.  They will signpost to, and work closely with, other relevant services within the organisation and external partners.

Some key duties will include:

• Responding to all enquiries to the Support Line service in a prompt and efficient manner, and within the remit of its policies, procedures and practices.
• Providing information, support and advice to all service users using a range of recourses to find, interpret and communication the relevant information, liaising with appropriate outside agencies as and when necessary, in order to further research enquiries.
• Researching and exploring options and implications so that service users can make informed decisions.
• Supporting the Frank Williams Academy with the updating and development of new factsheets.
• Supporting the work of the Advocacy service, providing first line support for NHS CHC cases and referring to the service for more in-depth support.
• Supporting the work of the Support Network team, arranging appointments and referring callers when appropriate.

About the Role

The Assistant Reserves Officer is one of our team managing and developing the Trust’s nature reserves for people and wildlife.  Your work place includes internationally recognised wetlands and woodlands along with nationally important meadows, chalk grasslands and heathland across Hertfordshire and Middlesex.

You will need to have strong experience in practical habitat management, including the use of power tools and machinery, such as chainsaws, brush cutters and BCS mowers. You will have experience of working within a dynamic team and leading volunteers. You will need to have a keen interest in wildlife and preferably a knowledge of the habitats in our area.

No two days are the same as an ARO at HMWT; you will get the opportunity to utilise and develop your practical habitat management skills across our nature reserves including tree felling, coppicing, scrub clearance, hay cutting and pond/ditch management. You will also undertake the maintenance of site infrastructure; assist with the management of livestock; and perform surveying and monitoring of habitat/species, tree safety and infrastructure. These tasks will be delivered working closely with members of the nature reserves team; our volunteer wardens and our practical conservation volunteers.

Willingness to travel throughout our work area and flexibility to work occasional irregular hours is required for this post.

To support ongoing growth and development of the Warm Welcome Campaign, we are looking for a Campaign Operations Director to be responsible for the effective and efficient running of the Campaign and to lead on the delivery of our ambitious 5-year strategy. The role will sit within Warm Welcome’s Senior Leadership Team which also includes the Campaign Director, Director of Communications, and Development Director, and will report directly to the Campaign Director (David Barclay).

The Finance & HR Lead

We are looking for a Finance & HR Lead to take charge of the financial health of our charity by administering a high quality and effective financial management service to The OutHouse. The OutHouse is going through a period of change and we need a finance practitioner who is able to support the organisation in its financial management. You will also have oversight of our HR function. This is a busy role within a small team that is looking to make a huge difference within our community. • Provide a high quality and effective financial management service to The OutHouse.
• Prepare, develop and analyse finance and accounting information, including income and expenditure processing, ensuring information is timely precise, clear, informative and understood
• Keep good quality accounting records for our charity by preparing annual accounts and maintaining up to date records on our accountancy and book-keeping systems (making any recommendations for improvement as necessary)
• Work with the CEO and Operations Change Manager to ensure efficient financial management and planning systems, ensure financial reports effectively inform business development and fundraising strategies and that the organisation demonstrates value for money across all activities and services
• Prepare information for our Funders on funded projects expenditure and work with the SLT to present this in a meaningful way
• Attend Trustee meetings as required to provide information and analysis ensuring partnership with CEO and board Treasurer to allow for easier financial decisions
• Ensure financial information supplied to management and the board is full and accurate so as to support sound decision making
• Ensure compliance and proactively highlight potential risk with relevant financial statutory and regulatory matters
• Identify and manage risks and contribute to the risk register on financial matters and wider decision making when appropriate
