About the Youth Endowment Fund

We’re here to prevent children and young people becoming involved in violence. We do this by finding out what works and building a movement to put this knowledge into practice.

Last year, 244 people in England and Wales tragically died after being assaulted with a knife. Of these, 32 were children. Every child captured in these numbers is an important member of our community and society has a duty to protect them. Even when violence doesn’t strike directly, we know that the fear of violence has a terrible effect on children’s lives.

The Youth Endowment Fund exists to try and permanently change things. To succeed, we must build an exceptional body of knowledge about violence affecting young people and how we reduce it. This knowledge has to be both rigorous and highly relevant to those making decisions about how to support vulnerable young people. We need to find out what works and what doesn’t through evidence synthesis, data analysis and qualitative research into children’s lives. We need to convert this into highly accessible content on what works, how delivery organisations need to change their practice and how the systems they operate in need to be reformed. We then need to work with the right people that can make change happen, across systems, policies and practice, to have a real impact on reducing violence affecting children’s lives.

The evaluation team designs and implements the processes which assess the evidence for the fund’s various funding rounds. The team is also responsible for assessing, appointing, monitoring and the quality assurance of complex and rigorous impact evaluations from experts in the field.

As an integral member of our evaluation team, you will be part of making sure we make the best decisions about what we fund, design and execute the evaluations to learn from it about what works to prevent youth violence.

Key Responsibilities

The core of your job is to ensure that we commission and deliver high-quality evaluations so that we can find out the very best ways to prevent young people and children from becoming involved in violence.

As an Evaluation Manager, you will:

· Support the evaluation team to design and implement the processes for assessing the quality of evidence underpinning applications organisations make for funding.

· Provide recommendations on which applications should be approved for funding based on your assessment.

· Choose the best evaluation partner for each project.

· Lead the development of the evaluation design with grantees and evaluators.

· Review regular monitoring reports from evaluators and provide approval for payments, making sure their milestones are effectively achieved, and the work stays on budget.

· Serve as the main point of contact for the evaluation partner, providing a rigorous review and feedback on the report and ensuring that it is an accurate reflection of the learnings from the project.

· Support the evaluation team in the development of the principles and protocols we need to deliver robust and respected evaluations.

About you

You’re this sort of person who is:

· Committed to preventing young people and children from becoming involved in violence:You’re passionate about the impact of prevention and early intervention. You don't want your days to pass without making a difference.

· Experienced in evaluation: You have a strong knowledge and technical expertise in evaluation methodologies, including the ability to critically appraise the design of randomised control trials and related approaches.

· Really know what makes great research and quality evidence:  You can design and draft high-quality research proposals including the sample, measurement and analysis. You’re confident in assessing the quality of evidence that underpins interventions and can guide decisions on grant applications.

· An excellent communicator:You can produce technical documents that accurately report methodological and statistical information. You will combine this with experience of communicating complex evidence and analysis in a simple and accessible format to non-experts.

· Highly organised and likes working in a team:  You have excellent project and time management skills with the ability to deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. You’re a valuable addition to any team by supporting others and working collaboratively. You’re flexible and able to work on your own initiative.

You may have, but they are not essential:

· Good knowledge and understanding of crime, serious violence or other relevant areas: This could include areas such as child development, parenting or children’s mental health from fields such as psychology, neuroscience or education research.

· Experience of commissioning evaluation or designing your own research: This includes managing research and analysis from external contractors. Experience designing and carrying out your own research would be an asset, as would experience in the ethical review process.

· Great quantitative analysis skills: This includes experience using advanced analytical software such as R, Stata or SPSS

· Knowledge and understanding of intervention and prevention science

· Knowledge and experience of evidence synthesis: You know the different approaches and have carried out your own evidence synthesis projects.

Hybrid Working Details

Overall purpose

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the national development and delivery of our relationships with the private sector to maximise income and impact to support refugees into meaningful employment.

The main purpose of the Partnerships Manager role is to deliver first-class account management and development of corporate partnerships to drive Breaking Barriers mission.

Working closely with Senior Partnerships Managers, Head of Corporate Partnerships, and members of the Income & Engagement and Services Directorates, you will be responsible for launching, retaining and developing a portfolio of partnerships ensuring we deepen and strengthen relationships whilst identifying opportunities for growth.

You will play your part in delivering and developing strategic relationships to bring value to our refugee clients and our employment and education programmes.

The successful candidate will have experience managing corporate partner relationships, including making fundraising asks and managing external communication with donors and partners at all levels of seniority. You will deploy your influencing skills and ability to build profitable relationships to great effect as you take a leading role identifying and nurturing future strategic partnerships. An understanding of Corporate Social Responsibility would be advantageous.

About this job

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Income and Gift Aid Accountant Assistant to help us make sure every penny counts in our mission to stop MS. You'll play a key role in managing our income processing and supporting Gift Aid claims to help us maximise the value of every donation.

You'll ensure that donations recorded in our CRM system match the funds received, resolving discrepancies and supporting our income processes to run efficiently. Working closely with our Customer Services and Fundraising teams you’ll be at the heart of making sure our financial data is accurate and robust.

You’ll also assist with preparing and checking Gift Aid claims, helping us claim back vital extra funds at no additional cost to our supporters. Your detail driven approach will help us continue to build a strong and transparent foundation for everything we do.

To succeed in this role, you’ll need a good understanding of financial accounting principles, strong Excel and IT skills, and a collaborative problem-solving approach. This is a unique role based at The Royal London Hospital supporting our clinical and operational colleagues with the smooth running of our Helipad. It is a fast-paced support role in a busy emergency environment with competing priorities. Reporting to the Helipad Operations Manager, the role works closely with the London Air Ambulance operations and clinical teams.   

Crucially you will support with the maintenance of the emergency vehicles ensuring they are mission ready at all times, while managing the stock of medical equipment and supporting with general operations and administration.

You’ll have significant experience in an operational / administrative role and hold strong organisational and communication skills. A good understanding of patient confidentially is essential for the role and a background in a clinical environment and/or the charity sector is advantageous.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Ownership of our social media channels; regularly testing, creating, and posting content that is tailored to each platform, using each channel’s features to maximise impact towards our goals.

• Create inspiring concepts and develop these into compelling, on-brand, platform-specific content using tools like Canva and Adobe Express.

GUCE Project Manager Role

Community Energy is gaining momentum nationally, where people are increasingly coming together to  take control of their own energy supplies.  Grand Union Community Energy (GUCE, pronounced “juice”) is looking to see local communities along the Grand Union canal in Hertfordshire enjoy a clean and resilient energy system that benefits all.  We develop, support and promote renewable energy and energy efficiency projects for communities from Watford to Tring, and build householder resilience by helping them reduce their bills and energy use.

We are seeking a Project Manager for two days a week, to help develop the opportunities that are forthcoming. Depending on the skills of the applicant the same individual could also cover aspects of other roles we are looking to fill.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity for a person with experience in project management to join our small but expanding team. The Project Manager for Community Energy will be responsible for converting opportunities for local renewable energy generation and energy efficiency projects into reality. They will take projects from concept, through funding and construction to management.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Deliver new potential projects, such as opportunities with Watford industrial units:

  • Work with technical specialists to assess the energy needs of the community, including energy demand, infrastructure, and renewable energy potential (solar, wind, biomass, etc.).

Salary: Pro-rated salary for 2 days per week, £13,000 to £19,000 per annum (£34,000 to £47,000 full time equivalent) depending on experience plus 3% pension contribution.

Hours: 2 days per week (15 hours). The working hours can be flexible.

Location: Home-working, ideally within the GUCE catchment area from Watford to Tring.

You will need to travel to meet stakeholders, attend relevant meetings and visit potential sites. You may be called upon to work outside office hours.

The Role

The Head of Partnerships and Fundraising is responsible for the majority of income generation for our charity. The Switch raises income from corporate volunteering partnerships and through grant applications to other trusts and charities, which together contribute circa £800,000 per year. This role will manage and grow our current key corporate partners, ensuring sustainability and longevity in our partnerships. The person will be responsible for communicating effectively with corporate partners on a strategic level, to understand how we can improve our volunteering offer and communicate impact to their business.

The job-holder will seek new partnerships in diverse industries where we have fewer stakeholders, to ensure our young people work with companies and volunteers from wide-ranging sectors.

In this position you will scope fundraising opportunities from grant and trusts, and be adept at assessing our viability so that applications we submit have a higher rate of success than average.

As Head of Partnerships and Fundraising, you will create new income streams which The Switch has not considered before, for example legacy funding, individual giving, corporate match funding. This will improve our financial stability.

About the Role

Lead MSI’s flagship research initiatives and high-stakes third-party evaluations—ensuring world-class methodological rigour, strategic relevance, and real-world impact. This role is central to positioning MSI as a global thought leader in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR). You will drive research excellence across the organisation while cultivating and strengthening relationships with research-focused donors who demand—and fund—the highest standard of analytical credibility. Your work will not only shape internal decision-making but also influence global SRHR agendas and investments.

• Research Excellence: All major studies meet or exceed donor expectations for methodological quality, ethical integrity, and utility—establishing MSI as a go-to centre of research excellence in the SRHR sector.

To perform this role, you’ll need the following skills:

Technical Research Expertise

• Expert knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies including RCTs, quasi-experimental methods; including multi-country evaluations and ethical research management.
• Proficiency in advanced statistical analysis and research data interpretation. Excellent data analysis skills using statistical software packages (STATA or R) and advanced excel skills; experience of advanced quantitative analysis techniques such as Interrupted Time Series Analysis, multilevel regression etc.

• Proficiency in developing new metrics and frameworks for assessing program impact, particularly in equity, disability, and marginalized group outcomes.
• Deep understanding of research ethics, protocols, and quality assurance processes
• Highly proficient in steering large-scale third-party evaluations.

Sector Expertise

• Substantial experience in sexual and reproductive health research
• Understanding of SRH research challenges, indicators, and measurement approaches
• Knowledge of key global health research institutions and networks
• Familiarity with demographic and health research data sources and methodologies

Stakeholder Engagement and communication

• Highly developed skills to influence and persuade ability to quickly and effectively build relationships with team members and stakeholders at all levels.
• Proven ability to communicate complex research concepts to diverse audiences

• Confident public speaking and strong communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive, evidence-based narratives tailored to diverse external audiences such as donors, policymakers, and partners.
• Strong networks within academic research community and global health institutions
• Knowledge of evaluation standards expected by major donors and foundations

• Skilled in knowledge dissemination, including producing peer-reviewed publications and engaging in technical forums.
• Ability to build strategic research partnerships and secure funding through external engagement.

Team leader:  

• Strong leadership in managing research portfolios and teams and skilled at capacity building approaches.
• Exceptional ability to foster learning cultures that value evidence-based decision making and continuous improvement
• Strong mentoring and coaching skills at individual and team levels

Prioritisation and Multi-tasker: Strong ability to manage multiple tasks and effectively prioritise workload

To perform this role, you’ll need the following experience:

• Extensive (minimum of 8 years) experience in leading research in global health
• Strong track record in managing multi-country research initiatives and partnerships.
• Demonstrated experience in thought leadership, research dissemination, and donor engagement.
• Proven ability to manage teams, budgets, and deliver high-quality research outputs in a fast-paced environment.

Formal education/qualification

• Advanced degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or related fields is essential.
• Additional qualification or formal training in research design or impact evaluation desirable
• Proficiency in French is highly desirable (please state level in application)
• Additional qualification or formal training in research design, epidemiology or impact evaluation, data visualisation such as PowerBI; advanced excel skills - desirable

Location: London, UK (minimum of 2 days per week in the office). The candidate must have the right to work in the UK. 

Full-time: 35 hours a week, Monday to Friday.

Contract type: Permanent.

Salary: £46,000 - £59,600 per annum for UK based candidates. Discretionary bonus + benefits. 

Salary band: BG 10
