Mind in Enfield and Barnet is seeking Community care coordinators for some of our most vulnerable users of emergency services. This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Domestic Abuse Trainer and Assessor on a part time, fixed term contract until May 2026. 

Refuge has recently been granted funding from the Ministry of Justice to develop training for Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVAs). Key Objectives for this Role 

Oversee the day-to-day running of our Battersea Bites Programme that includes a lunch club for people 50+ that runs on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and a healthy eating session on Mondays. This includes leading in the planning, shopping and preparation and provision of meals, the responsibility for the day-to-day running of the kitchen including overseeing a team of volunteers and ensuring compliance with relevant Health & Safety and Food Hygiene requirements. 

Roles & Responsibilities 

Planning 

• Plan and develop a monthly lunch service menu, a month in advance, using creative license to provide nutritious, varied, and satisfying meals that meet diverse dietary requirements (e.g., allergies, cultural needs, vegetarian/vegan options) while strictly adhering to Health & Safety and food hygiene regulations. 

• Develop ideas for Battersea Bites Healthy cook and eat/ other sessions with the Age Well Team.

• Handle purchases and expense tracking using the Soldo card, ensuring full compliance with the bank card usage policy, and submitting all receipts and records promptly and accurately for financial oversight and reporting, for which training can be provided.

• Create several themed menus throughout the year which will engage members. For example, a Summer Lunch, an Afternoon Tea, etc.

• Support the planning of the older people’s lunch club with older people themselves

• Support the Elders team to welcome and support new members to feel part of the programme. 

Delivery 

• Complete a weekly food shop either online (we currently use Asda delivery service) or locally, buying fresh ingredients weekly which fall within the financial budget. 

• Prepare, cook and serve healthy meals, ensuring dietary needs are met 

• Undertake stock control such as stock rotation, ensuring all food items are labelled with expiry dates and disposed of when necessary. 

• Ensure all equipment is ready and set up for the lunch club service. 

• Ensure the security of the kitchen and store cupboards to provide a safe working environment. (Our cupboards are locked.)

• To ensure routine day-to-day as well as specialised cleaning of kitchen equipment, work surfaces, kitchen floors and storage areas. 

• Keep accurate and up-to-date records, including the health and safety folder containing opening and closing checks. Training can be provided.

• Ensure your hygiene and cleanliness are of the highest standard, and those of anyone entering the kitchen, including volunteers, are suitably dressed and uphold the same standards 

• Be part of and work closely with the Elders Team at KLS 

• Support elders who attend the club so that the sessions are safe and enjoyable for them.

This is a new role working within Battersea’s Income Generation department to develop and deliver the campaign plan for a £4-6million pound capital fundraising appeal.

We are seeking an experienced, results-driven executive to join our organisation as Chief Executive Officer on a part-time basis (2 days per week. Pro-rata salary: £20,000-£24,000). This is a unique opportunity for a seasoned leader looking to make a significant impact whilst maintaining flexibility in their schedule.

Role Overview

As our part-time CEO, you will provide strategic vision and leadership to drive our organisation forward. You will work closely with our management team to develop and implement child-centred volunteering strategy, ensure operational excellence, and foster a culture of innovation, learning, and accountability.

About Us

TimeGivers is a fast-growing West London charity that is redefining how children engage with their communities. TimeGivers creates scalable, school-centred volunteering programmes that embed social action into the lives of children and the fabric of their communities. Every programme is community-led: we partner with local schools, councils, alliances and charities, co-designing volunteering programmes around specific, identified local need. Our events are also child led whereby young people choose the causes they want to support and help to come up with ideas for how they want to help them.

Core Responsibilities

With proven leadership experience in the charity sector, you must bring a passion for our work and an ability to translate strategy into action. You will be leading us from successful start-up to a more established and growing organisation. We therefore seek experience in driving organisational growth and aligning resources to support this, together with expertise in introducing effective monitoring, evaluation, and performance management to ensure we’re delivering against our strategic objectives and can demonstrate impact.

A key aspect of your role will be overseeing the financial health of the organisation ensuring effective budgeting, forecasting and resource management. You will work closely with the Fundraising Manager to develop and implement a sustainable fundraising strategy, identifying and securing diverse income streams (e.g. grants, donations corporate partnerships), as well as working with the Financial Director and the Board to prepare annual accounts and financial reports.

You will be responsible for ensuring the charity operates in accordance with its constitution, policies and legal requirements; maintaining high standards of accountability, safeguarding and risk management across all aspects of the organisation. You will support the Board of Trustees by providing timely and accurate information to ensure effective governance and decision making.

Alongside these skills we are looking for an inspirational and entrepreneurial leader who can galvanise and optimise the performance of our team and dedicated volunteers, ensuring the effective delivery of our programmes. You will be someone who can think strategically but is not afraid to roll their sleeves up and has an energetic, positive and can-do approach. To be successful you will also be adept at managing a range of stakeholders and be credible and inspiring as an ambassador, equipped with excellent communication and influencing skills to promote TimeGivers.

Desirable Experience

 · Proven executive leadership experience, preferably as CEO or in a similar senior role in the charity, public or voluntary sector

· Experience working with child-focused non-profit organisations

· Strong track record in income generation including fundraising, partnerships and securing grants.

· Robust experience in driving and delivering growth and meeting objectives

· Thorough working knowledge of governance and compliance requirements for charities

· Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills

· Good financial management skills including budgeting and resource allocation

We’ve got an exciting opportunity to join our busy Communications team to help shape the stories we share about our work and increase understanding of autism.

Our new Senior Social Media Officer (Professionals) will be responsible for managing the smooth day-to-day running of our dedicated social media channels for professionals.

This new role will focus on leading the development of channels to promote our charity’s training, accreditation, diagnosis and best practice support.

We are looking for someone to create engaging multimedia content and copy, and build and nurture positive community engagement. The successful candidate will work with colleagues to forward plan activity, and develop, schedule and evaluate social media content that communicates the charity’s work in this area to new and existing audiences.

This role will report into the Social Media Innovation Manager.

This is a permanent role, for 5 days per week/35 hours per week. The salary for this position is £30,000 - £32,000 per annum.
