Westway Trust are seeking a dedicated and experienced Children Services Manager with a track record of managing a Good or Outstanding Oftsed rated Early Years’ service, who will be committed to supporting and enhancing the lives of children in the North Kensington community.

This role is key to positioning the Trust as a provider of affordable, vital and culturally appropriate services.  Reporting to the Senior Manager Learning, you will lead and manage on all aspects of the Trust’s nursery and crèche services, ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements are met.  You will manage a team of full and part-time staff and will build strong partnerships with families and the local community. You will be a confident communicator working closely with statutory regulators, commissioners, partners and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities of the role include but not limited to:

• Manage the staff team to deliver the Nursery and Crèche services.
• Liaison with all relevant members of staff to ensure maximising the team’s opportunities for employment, personal and professional development and organisational engagement.
• Develop, monitor and review activities to ensure high standards of childcare and learning.
• Quality assure and develop and improve services to maintain and improve our Ofsted position.
• Attend budget planning with the finance team to ensure a full understanding of the budget; good budget management and a strong out-turn in line with the growth strategy.
• Keep appropriate records of all children and account for their social and individual developmental needs.
• Monitor and report against the delivery objectives of the service providing observation and feedback to Nursery and Crèche workers so that they can improve their own direct planning and delivery and qualifications.
• Provide data as required for reporting internally to your line manager and through the Trusts Governance, and externally.

Qualification:

• Relevant qualification in childcare at a minimum Level 4.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience of managing a Nursery with experience of all the relevant duties, monitoring, reporting and quality improvement.
• Experience of being the main contact for Ofsted. 
• A track record of working collaboratively with colleagues, partners and stakeholders to develop successful partnerships, growth, and achieve joint success.
• Strong experience of planning ahead, scheduling, attention to detail and problem solving.
• Experience of managing staff and supporting their development.
• Experience of managing resources and budgets.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience of writing reports.

Our mission is to provide mental health support available to everyone, everywhere. Tellmi is a multi-award winning fully moderated, anonymous, mental health service predominantly for young people aged 11-25. The Tellmi app safely enables young people to talk about difficult things and encourages them to help themselves, by helping each other. Beneath an engaging anonymous peer to peer feed, Tellmi integrates the latest psychological research to promote the development of protective factors such as emotional resilience, empathy, social skills, stress management and coping techniques. Tellmi is commissioned by the NHS and Local Authorities across the UK and works closely with schools, CAMHS and VCSFEs.

The Tellmi app is free to download with premium features in commissioned areas. The app is available 365 days a year, 24/7 and our moderators, counsellors and therapists are available from 8:30am until 11pm everyday.

YOUR ROLE

Your role is to ensure the operation of the Tellmi Mental Health Service is safe and effective for all users. This role encompasses direct support for our users via the Tellmi app as well as behind the scenes management of operations. You will be one of the counsellors on call to respond to high risk posts during daytime working hours. You will manage the human element of our digital service including the users, moderators, counsellors, therapists and volunteers. You will take a keen interest in the wellbeing of our users and through curiosity and compassion ensure that they receive the best support that we can provide. You will succeed in this role if have experience of counselling, youth or social work and you are a good communicator who is able to win the trust of your team through compassionate accountability.

As Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) you will take primary responsibility for safeguarding and child protection within Tellmi. You will act as a point of contact for staff and volunteers, providing advice and support on child welfare and protection matters relating to our users. You will manage safeguarding concerns, liaise with external agencies especially in commissioned areas and ensure the company’s safeguarding policies are up-to-date and effective. Although an important responsibility the DSL element is a relatively small part of the overall role.

You will report directly to the Co-CEOs. We are looking for someone who is highly proactive, totally reliable and is eager to take the initiative to help us continually improve the service. We will expect you to enjoy learning and actively pursue continual professional development to ensure that you are fully up to date with the latest policies, regulations and guidance related to your role. You will be expected to share in the on-call remote support of moderators, counsellors and therapists in the evenings and weekends.

YOUR SPECIFIC DUTIES

Moderation, counselling and supervision (15%)

• Responsible for responding to high risk users during the day including emergency third party disclosures if required.

• Providing occasional cover for moderation or counsellors at any point during the operational hours.

• On call for ad hoc support of counsellors and therapists during evenings and weekends (typically three to four times a week).

Management and oversight of moderators, counsellors, therapists and volunteers (25%)

• Organise and manage rotas for moderators/counsellors.

• Process and monitor referrals for Tellmi Therapy.

• Performance manage and oversee quality control of moderators, counsellors and therapists.

• Maintain and develop guidance, training, policies and operating procedures (SOPs).

• Be the first point of contact for moderators, counsellors and therapists to support with operational issues and queries. 

• Facilitate peer supervision sessions for counsellors and therapists

• Manage recruitment of new moderators, counsellors and therapists including identifying workforce needs.

• Deliver moderation, counsellor and therapist training.

• Provide strategic oversight and operational support for the SuperPeer volunteer programme.

• Provide occasional support with training of the SuperPeer volunteers.

Designated Safeguarding Lead (10-15%)

• Maintain a level 3 safeguarding qualification and other relevant CPD for both children and adults

• Ensure that all staff and contracted staff maintain the safeguarding qualification appropriate to their role.

• Have primary responsibility for safeguarding for children and adults across the company (users and staff).

• Maintain and develop the Tellmi Safeguarding policy.

App operations (40%)

• Monitor for issues arising on the app and report as appropriate.

• Make use of data generated by the app to monitor and report on the general performance of the Tellmi service.

• Contribute to the management of the Tellmi Directory.

• Use knowledge of user behaviour and app operations to contribute to the development of the app.

• Line manage the Operations Assistant.

• Collate user feedback.

• Manage user accounts and permissions on the Tellmi platform.

• Contribute to the maintenance and updates of company policies.

• Respond to email queries from users and others.

• Manage and setup of in app Notices to users including Tellmi Therapy invites.

• Maintain strong working relationships with Co-CEOs, and other senior staff in order to ensure transparency and rapid response to arising issues.

Contract Support (5%-10%)

• Ensure that the app configuration meets needs of new commissioned areas.

• Ensure that Tellmi meets the quality requirements for the LLR ICB by creating the LLR quality report, attending quarterly review meetings and progressing resulting actions. 

• Oversee quality reporting in future commissioned areas as required.

• Provide updates and insights to feed into the quarterly reporting to commissioners.

• Use knowledge of user behaviour to contribute to development of outreach and engagement campaigns.

WORKING HOURS, LOCATION AND TRAVEL

The post-holder will maintain a manageable caseload of clients needing support with their welfare rights and benefits. The role is to support the Welfare Rights Advice Project Team with the following:

1. To carry out an initial client assessment, identifying any issues with their benefits and any claims they can make to maximise their income.
2. Provide casework (including challenging decisions) for welfare benefits available to clients with mental health difficulties and their carers: i.e. Personal Independence Payments, Universal Credit, Employment and Support Allowance and Housing Benefit.
3. Provide information and advice as appropriate about issues related to a client’s particular situation.
4. Provide advice and casework for mobility and discretionary schemes and personal grants that could be of benefit to clients.
5. Take referrals directly from service users, carers or staff from other agencies (encouraging use of our online referral form)
6. Signpost and refer clients to agencies that assist with transition from hospital to community living, or to tackle social isolation and improve mental wellbeing.
7. Maintain records in accordance with Hear Us policies and procedures, including the handling of confidential and private documents and keeping written and computer records up to date and secure.
8. Liaise with GPs, CMHT’s and other agencies to obtain supporting documents, by telephone, letter and e-mail.
9. Taking confidential telephone messages from clients and outside agencies.
10. Take part in weekly WRAP team meetings regarding case allocation, and stay up to date with changes in benefits legislation. 
11. Attend regular supervision and yearly appraisals with line manager.
12. Assist WRAP manager to write reports and evaluate the project for funding bids and to support and promote the project.
13. Collect and distribute flyers and leaflets for signposting purposes.
14. Attend Hear Us staff meetings, staff development days, and other Hear Us events (e.g. Hear Us Open Forum) where directed by line manager.
15. Attend identified training and other personal development activities that will support you in this role.
16. Develop and maintain healthy working practices for yourself, with clear personal and professional boundaries.

You’ll have an active role providing LGBTQ+ affirmative support for LGBTQ+ children and young people. 
This is an exciting job opportunity to join a dynamic and committed team in a front-line role to support and deliver the activities and services of elop’s LGBTQ+ Children & Young People’s Service.This role offers great opportunity to work innovatively and responsively to support the genuine needs of LGBTQ+ young people.

 In this role you will have opportunity to design and deliver innovative youth group support programmes (12- 24 year olds) & other activities; provide LGBTQ+ affirmative support, guidance and mentoring on a one-to-one basis; work with our wider family work programme, support families with LGBTQ+ children and deliver work in schools to students & teaching staff.  You will have the responsibity to support volunteer mentors.

You will be responsible for the direct delivery of elop’s LGBTQ+ Young Peoples Service, including promotion, & administration, along with the induction, support & supervision of volunteers and interns.  You will work alongside the wider staff team to support elop’s work with LGBTQ+ young people and contribute to sustainable service development.

The delivery of group support and activities will take place in person, and you will be office based three days a week with some remote working on other days before returning to full time in person working.

Full Time: 37 hours per week

You must be available to work Tuesday evenings & once a month on a Sunday afternoon.  There will be occasional other evenings / weekend working required.

Role purpose

Compass is a service designed to support adults (18 years and over) in H&F and Hounslow. The service provides support with welfare benefits, debt, housing and well-being/peer support groups/workshops.

The role of the Information and Advice Worker will be to provide advice, guidance and customer representation to H&F and Hounslow residents living with mental health problems. Advice issues may include, housing, benefits, council tax, debt, signposting etc.

The successful candidate will deliver support to enquirers and manage a caseload of individuals as agreed with the service manager. In addition to advice casework, the Advice Worker will also be expected to assist onboarding referrals to the service when needed.

The successful candidate will be required to work alongside the Advice Team Leader and volunteers supporting on the project.  

The Advice Worker will be required to work within the Advice Quality Standard framework (AQS), adhere to Mind’s policies and procedures.

Due to the nature of the work, if successful, you will need to have an up-to-date DBS check completed prior to undertaking unsupervised client work.  

Place of work

The Advice Worker will be required to work both from home and the H&F and Hounslow office when necessary, alongside work in the community.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver support to enquirers and manage a caseload of individuals as agreed with the service manager.

• Provide advice and information relating to all welfare benefits, including assisting clients with form filling and contacting agencies such as the Department for Work & Pensions on their behalf

• Signpost to other relevant services in the boroughs, or further afield.
• Attend training, forums and meetings to ensure knowledge remains relevant and up to date
• Keep up to date about current best practice and legislation within mental health, as well as within the field of Information & Advice more generally.

• Use our database Views to record details of all client referrals and contacts to ensure client information is kept up to date.
• Use the correct templates, conduct outcomes and satisfaction assessments with clients on closure.
• Record the results of outcome assessments and satisfaction surveys on the Views database.
• Work in line with triage procedures and use the referral process when referring cases to external organisations.
• Meet regularly with the service manager to feed back about the progress of the project and ensure it is relevant to local strategy and national Government priorities

What we offer and what we ask of you

As an associate, you will be involved in the delivery of aspects of the Board Development programme including our risk appetite and risk management modules. You will work with, and collaborate with, a group of talented fellow associates with a varied range of skills and capabilities, as well as board experience, NHS experience, coaching, mentoring and facilitation skills. Your responsibilities will include delivering dynamic training sessions using pre-prepared materials; delivery could be online or face to face. On occasion you will also be required to utilise your skills and experience to support the development and maintenance of new and existing training session materials. This role requires a passionate individual with a strong background in strategic and operational risk management and a proven track record of facilitating engaging and impactful training sessions.

We will support you by offering you commissioned pieces of work on a daily rate, either to help scope and deliver bespoke board development work with NHS trusts and other system partners, or to help us deliver our open courses, where we will be proactive in confirming the agenda and briefing you on content. We ask all of our associates to sign an associate contract which means we can approach you with offers of work over the course of the year. We will ensure you have sufficient information about the trusts, and other clients, that you will be working with. When appropriate, we will provide you with training opportunities to support your facilitation of training sessions.

Description of the associate role

We are looking for risk specialists to join our associate pool. We are looking for individuals with a mixture of experience including:

• Significant experience of working at board level.
• Experience working in the NHS or similar large complex organisations.

• Strong understanding of best practice in strategic risk management, preferably in the healthcare sector.

Background:

Longfield Hall Trust (LHT) manages the historic Longfield Hall, offering a range of cultural experiences and classes for all ages. Our new Memory Café project aims to support dementia patients and their carers by providing a welcoming space for social and recreational activities. The Café will offer dementia friendly activities (including karaoke, bingo, arts/crafts and immersive theatre/dance shows) to empower dementia patients to enjoy regular social, cognitive and physical activities.

Alongside supporting patients, the Memory Café will create a highly supportive environment for carers. This will enable carers to take some 'time out' while remaining nearby in a safe space where both carers and patients can socialize more widely. Furthermore, the Café will provide access to information about relevant local services, ensuring comprehensive support for all attendees.

The Memory Café Care Worker will support the Memory Café Manager and enable us to support a broad range of dementia patients and their carers.

We help people speak up and make decisions about their health, wellbeing and social care. We’re here to make sure people who are vulnerable because of their circumstance can understand their rights, make effective choices about their lives and voice their concerns.

About the role

The post-holder will lead a team of advocates working with adults and young people across NHS and private hospitals and the local community.

The Estate Officer will ensure the delivery of the regional maintenance programme, comprising routine, periodic, planned and urgent works, and the delivery of time limited maintenance consultancy and estate management projects. Working alongside the Conservation Projects Manager, the post holder will ensure regional estate compliance with CCT policies.

The post holder will be the main contact for all maintenance related matters and will maintain the property management records for the estate, develop volunteer projects and training on maintenance reporting and conservation cleaning and will assist with fundraising.
