About the role
In this role you will provide advice and guidance to the organisation on all HR related matters, seeking additional support from specialist teams where required (ranging from policy advice, change, recruitment, reward, learning and development and transactional HR).

You will play a proactive role in the delivery of a customer and commercially focused service to employees of Macmillan, working at pace to resolve queries and deliver the monthly payroll (including new starters, movers, leavers, family leave and other contractual changes within SLAs and to an exceptional degree of accuracy).

As a Colleague Support Coordinator you will support the wider function in looking after the team inbox as well as telephone lines on a rota basis in order to best support our current and prospective employees.

About you
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experience:

• Experience of providing advice and guidance via email and telephone in a service focused environment (HR related preferred but not essential)
• Experience of working at pace and under pressure to deliver against multiple deadlines with great attention to detail
• Excellent customer service skills and a customer focused mindset
• Experience of using MS Office, specifically MS Word and MS Excel

THE OPPORTUNITY  

The Major Gifts Coordinator is accountable for providing strategic coordination and operational delivery support to the Major Gifts and Partnerships team. This role exists to ensure effective planning, organization, and execution of fundraising activities, donor engagement, and internal processes that drive income growth and relationship management.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

The Major Gifts Coordinator will own the outcomes of: 

1. Meeting and event coordination – Schedule, plan, and deliver internal and external meetings, visitor itineraries, and events logistics (venues, RSVPs, travel, catering, guest lists). 
2. Data and follow-up management – Enter and maintain accurate CRM records, track donor actions and follow-ups, and support reporting to ensure timely stewardship and accountability. 
3. Briefing and materials preparation – Prepare and format meeting briefs, bios, agendas, proposals, reports, and country/project background materials to support donor engagement. 
4. Administrative support – Manage team administration including expenses, budget updates, registrations for events/conferences, and maintaining the strategy tracker. 
5. Research and insight gathering – Support and coordinate prospect research, network mapping, and information gathering across different channels. 
6. Team and governance support – Draft internal updates, support board meeting preparation, and assist with team check-ins and strategy monitoring processes. 
7. Collaboration and culture – Work with colleagues across the team to share information, support projects, and help build a collaborative and well-organised working environment. 

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED 

• At least 3 years in administration, coordination, fundraising support, or related roles. Candidates with less formal experience but with demonstrated ability and potential will also be considered. 

• Familiarity with working in an international or not-for-profit environment. 

• Experience with coordinating meetings, events, donor visits, and logistics to support fundraising activities. 

• Experience in preparing briefs, proposals, reports, and donor communications to a high standard. 

• Managing CRM data, budgets, expenses, and follow-ups to ensure accuracy and accountability. 

• Supporting research, board planning, and collaboration across teams to drive effective delivery. 

• Understanding of data protection regulations (e.g. GDPR) and their application in donor management. 

• Experience supporting donor stewardship activities and relationship management processes. 

• Proactive self-starter with a focus on solutions and continuous improvement. 

• Highly organised, reliable, and able to manage competing priorities with efficiency. 

• Collaborative and team-oriented, fostering positive relationships across all levels.

Main Purpose of the Role

The Director is the strategic and operational lead of NRTF, responsible for the organisation’s vision, management, performance, and long-term sustainability. Our No Cold Child initiative with FatFace stepped in to address a stark statistic: over 150,000 children in the UK do not own a winter coat due to poverty. Through our trusted relationships with schools we distributed 10,000 warm, high-quality coats worth £600,000 to the children who needed them most. Winning the Business Charity Awards ‘Fashion & Retail’ Award, and shortlisted for two further awards, the campaign has been praised not just for providing warmth, but for restoring dignity, inclusion, and school readiness to thousands of children.

The All Dressed Up campaign—developed with World Book Day and Rubies Masquerade—confronted the often-overlooked issue of financial exclusion on key celebration days. More than 100,000 free dressing up costumes worth £1.34 million were delivered to children from low-income families. By enabling participation in events like World Book Day, we helped spark imagination, joy, and belonging for children who might otherwise feel left out—boosting self-esteem and supporting a positive connection to learning.Furthermore, helping attract children into school on a day which often sees struggling parents keep their children at home.

Alongside these national campaigns, Parentkind supports families year-round through a growing suite of programmes designed to inform, prepare and empower parents. Our Be School Ready programme offers crucial guidance and confidence to parents preparing their children for the leap into primary education. With a mix of practical advice, developmental tips, and reassurance, through the distribution of 150,000 copies of Be School Ready and an online campaign, it supports families at one of the most formative moments in their child’s life.

Our direct support of schools

Our collaboration with Asda on Cashpot for Schools is another example of unlocking support at scale. This innovative community-led funding model allowed shoppers to nominate and fund their local schools simply through everyday spending. This campaign has generated £5.78 million for schools during the past twelve months, supporting everything from basic classroom supplies to vital extracurricular programmes and pupil wellbeing initiatives. Also shortlisted for a Business Charity Award, it is already a model for community-driven philanthropy.

In April, we launched our Parent-Friendly Schools Accreditation Programme, designed to formally recognise schools that go above and beyond in fostering positive, inclusive relationships with parents. The accreditation celebrates schools that actively listen to parent voices, make engagement easy and accessible, and embed family partnership in their culture. Our focus on Policy & Research

Our work is grounded in evidence. Since 2023, we have conducted the UK’s largest annual parent survey: the National Parent Survey. With approaching 6,000 participants providing 130,000 bits of data to provide invaluable insights into the struggles, concerns, hopes and fears of parents. The findings are fed directly into government consultations and have already informed national debates on school funding, attendance, mental health support, SEND provision, and curriculum reform.

What you’ll be doing

As Legal Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in shaping River Action’s fight for cleaner rivers by acting as the link between legal expertise provided by external lawyers and River Action’s day-to-day campaigning, policy, advocacy and operational work. 

The role will involve working closely with River Action’s Head of Legal to use the law and legal strategies to strengthen and improve environmental protection of the UK’s rivers. This exciting role will include scoping, developing and managing strategic litigation to achieve systemic change as well as supporting River Action’s policy and advocacy work. You’ll also support the River Action team to build successful campaigns to challenge polluters, hold government and regulators accountable, and push for policy reform.

Key duties and responsibilities

• Support the Head of Legal in scoping, developing and managing River Action’s legal work, including commissioning legal services from external lawyers and providing instructions on legal matters. 

• Produce legal research and analysis to inform and support River Action’s strategic litigation, policy and advocacy work.

Skills, knowledge & experience

Sales and Profit

· Monitor and be accountable for sales and category performance, as well as ensure that the team are aware of and engaged in the shop’s financial performance

· Foster a creative and entrepreneurial shop environment where team members seek to maximise income in new and innovative ways both within the shop and through a variety of channels, such as community events

· Manage the team to maximise income from Gift Aid on donated products

· Ensure that all of Fight for Sight’s financial procedures are adhered to and executed in a timely fashion by the shop team

Shop Floor

· Ensure sourcing sufficient levels of donated stock locally in collaboration with the shop team

· Establish efficient and commercially successful stock processing systems (such as pricing, quality standards, consumer safety, stock density and culling stock), including backroom systems and ensure these are adhered to by the volunteer team. Ensure that all legal and Fight for Sight’s internal regulations regarding donated stock are adhered to

· Inspire the team to provide a great customer and donor experience, which enables Fight for Sight to attract new supporters every day. Ensure that feedback, including complaints are escalated to the Area Manager within the agreed timeframes

· Empower the team to create original, appropriate and commercially successful visual merchandising displays, including shop windows

· Make sure that all procedures for the sale of new products are followed by the volunteer team (if applicable)

· Work with the Commercial Manager to ensure our shops are in good condition, maximise their potential and are fit for purpose

· Provide a safe and healthy working environment and ensure that all team members are aware of and operate within Fight for Sight’s health and safety policies and procedures, including waste management and customer safety

Leadership – Volunteers

· Recruit, induct, and retain an inclusive and diverse volunteer team, which is large enough in numbers and capable to maximise the shop’s income and profitability and guarantee the smooth running of the shop.

· Maintain an empowered, well trained, motivated and engaged volunteer team with excellent levels of communication at team and individual level.

· Connect the volunteer team with Fight for Sight’s work and help them to understand the value of their contribution

Leadership - Paid Staff

· Recruit, induct, and retain an inclusive and diverse volunteer team, which is large enough in numbers and capable to maximise the shop’s income and profitability and guarantee the smooth running of the shop.

· Play active part in the charity, including attending and contributing to all-staff meetings

· Play a key role in enabling the shop to represent Fight for Sight and increase the knowledge of the local community about our mission and work

· Be accountable for the integration of the shop into the local community in collaboration with the shop team

· Empower the team to respond to all appeals and fundraising opportunities.

· Adhere to and enforce Fight for Sight safeguarding policies.

Flexibility
