As Sector Development Lead, you’ll lead income generation and customer growth in the primary sector. We’re seeking someone with experience in sales, sector development, or programme growth, with a proven ability to achieve ambitious targets. Role purpose:
1. Drive the growth of the primary education sector, leading on centre acquisition, income generation, and customer experience.
2. Develop and deliver integrated sales and marketing strategies, including digital lead generation, network development, key segment outreach, and data-led campaign planning.

Key responsibilities:
Planning
- Shape and deliver the Primary Sector Development Plan.
Sales & growth delivery
- Drive income and centre growth targets across all relevant programmes.
- Develop tailored acquisition and conversion strategies by segment, including cold outreach, warm lead nurture, events, and campaigns.
- Track and report against sector income targets, centre growth metrics, lead conversions, and ROI using dashboards and data analysis.
Marketing and lead generation
- Design and test sector-wide digital campaigns in collaboration with marketing teams and, where relevant, external agencies.
- Manage audience segmentation, personalised journeys, email marketing, and paid social media campaigns targeting school leaders, MATs, and parents.
- Plan and deliver events related to the Primary sector and represent the organisation externally when required.
- Contribute towards content strategy across case studies, impact stories, webinars, and sector PR/editorial opportunities as required.
Customer Experience (CX) & retention
- Lead on sector-specific centre onboarding, retention strategies, and cross-sell pathways.
- Be responsible for mapping and reviewing the customer journey, reducing friction for customers, and removing internal barriers.
- Develop Customer Experience led comms plans to ensure consistent, high-quality touchpoints that support relationship building and long-term value.
Collaborate across teams and support innovation
- Contribute to team planning meetings, training sessions, and department-wide initiatives.
- Support the induction of new team members and contribute to a collaborative, learning-focused team culture.

Purpose of the post
The Engagement and Involvement Lead will engage with young people, families, schools and other interest-holders in the process of designing, delivering and ensuring the best outputs from the Adolescent Health Study, and is critical for the success of the project. We are at the early stages of laying the foundations for this and in this new role we are seeking an experienced and passionate individual to co-ordinate and lead AHS’s cross-UK participant and public involvement and engagement activities.
This is a role that requires high levels of confidence, autonomy, enthusiasm and skill. The postholder will be responsible for delivering the project’s new Engagement and Involvement Strategy, including: establishing and coordinating a Young Persons’ Advisory Group for AHS; developing and delivering AHS public engagement and involvement activities; outsourcing and supervising engagement and involvement activities that are better provided by external partners; scoping and advising on which routes for involvement and engagement activities are best suited to different tasks.
Main responsibilities
Planning & strategy delivery
· Ensuring the study delivers the values and approaches set out in the AHS engagement and involvement strategy
· Planning, delivering and reporting on an ongoing, regular and important programme of engagement events and activities
· Reviewing/revising/adding to existing policies, processes and procedures to support effective working together with people and communities (such as reimbursement, compensation, making reasonable adjustments)
· Developing and implementing appropriate evaluation, monitoring and reporting of Community Engagement & Involvement
· Keeping up to date with good practice & sector advances and sharing these with the AHS team.
Practical engagement and involvement
· Developing methods to enhance engagement and involvement, and helping to build positive relationships with young people and stakeholder groups, including charities, third sector & advocacy groups
· Overseeing day-to-day planning & delivery of a high-quality engagement and involvement programme. To include, for example:
o Managing and supporting Youth Advisors
o Recruiting and running a standing Young People’s Advisory Group (YPAG)
o Organising & delivering other ad hoc engagement activities as necessary
· Securing external partners where necessary, and managing contracts and delivery of their work across the UK
· Ensuring that any external parties (e.g. organisations, freelancers, consultants) supporting AHS’s involvement and engagement work have clear roles, responsibilities & goals
· Working with the Head of Communications to develop and manage provision of relevant information to members of the public, teachers, young people & researchers

Knowledge, skills and experience
Essential criteria
· Undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field
· Experience developing and delivering engagement and involvement activities with young people and other relevant interest-holders (such as parents, families, teachers and schools)
· A proven track record or professional background in working with young people – such as in youth work, counselling, mentoring, education, or a related setting
· Understanding and experience of good practice in youth engagement and involvement, including the principles and implementation of safeguarding, data protection, and inclusive practice
· Awareness of culturally sensitive approaches and methods to be inclusive of all relevant perspectives, including marginalised and vulnerable groups
· Experience of successful project management and ability to deliver, working independently.
· Ability to design and deliver workshops, focus groups or meetings that encourage open dialogue and collaboration
· Ability to manage a budget and report on financial activity accurately
· Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team, with experience of working alongside and influencing senior level professionals
· Research literacy, with a clear understanding of large UK-wide research initiatives and the various competing demands and pressures the study will face
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills - able to communicate effectively and confidently with a range of stakeholders and to summarise and report key information clearly and accurately, both verbally and in writing
· Demonstrated commitment to youth participation and the meaningful inclusion of young people’s perspectives.

Dimensions
· This has been designed as a full-time role, although part-time work could be considered for the right candidate.
· Flexible working across several geographical locations in the UK. Travel may be required to AHS locations and partner organisations.

About the Role

1. The Role
The Head of Audiences is a new leadership role in the Commercial Operations team designed to ensure that audience insight and segmentation are at the heart of everything we do. This role will lead on understanding who our current and prospective audiences are, how they engage with us and what they need now and in the future. You will use this insight to guide programming, marketing, visitor experience at Winchester Science Centre but as we evolve our Charity’s reach and engagement you will play an important role in ensuring we fulfil our ambitious plans and reaching a diverse community. By building an inclusive and evidence-based audience strategy, this role will enable Winchester Science Centre to grow reach and engagement, deepen impact and fulfil its charitable mission to inspire a lifetime of curiosity in science.
The role is part of the Commercial Operations team led by the Chief Operating Officer and will work closely with the Head of Programming and Head of Visitor Experience. However, you will work with the wider leadership and their teams to ensure that both the community programme and on-site experience are insight-led, responsive to audience needs, and relevant to a wide range of segments. Special Circumstances

As Social Media Coordinator, you will live and breathe all things social media, understanding its potential contribution to achieving our mission.
You'll lead all activities across our Facebook, X, Instagram, Threads, YouTube, and LinkedIn, as well as keeping an eye out for opportunities elsewhere on social media. With strong working knowledge across social channels, you’ll implement a digital strategy focused on reaching, engaging, and converting our audiences to take action for animals.
This role reports to the Digital Communications Manager.

Who you are:
You are passionate about The Humane League’s mission of ending the abuse of animals raised for food. With an attention to detail and strong written and verbal communications skills in English, you’ll have a keen eye for persuasive and punchy copy and an ability to adapt your tone of voice.
You’ll be able to prioritise and manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that you meet deadlines and communicate internally.
You’ll have experience of digging into the data, using analytics to assess results, gain learnings, and action those learnings to improve channel performance. You understand what audiences want to see from different channels, and how to get cut through and reach attention on each one.
You are a whizz with editing tools and can create compelling, dynamic video and static content that hooks people in and keeps them watching.
You’ll be comfortable reacting to opportunities nimbly and being proactive in looking for stories to tell about our work, seeing every interaction as an opportunity.
You’ll be willing to be the face of the organisation on social media, ensuring that you have a good working knowledge of our issues and campaigns in order to motivate support for them.
You will have a supporter-centric approach to communications, responding to comments and messages from a place of care and empathy.
While working with autonomy is an important part of your role, strong collaboration and communication skills are paramount to your success.
Primary Responsibilities:

Ownership of our social media channels; regularly testing, creating, and posting content that is tailored to each platform, using each channel’s features to maximise impact towards our goals.

Planning and building social media campaigns that strategically integrate goals and consider metrics.

Updating the communications calendar.

Create inspiring concepts and develop these into compelling, on-brand, platform-specific content using tools like Canva and Adobe Express.

Social media community management including moderating and responding to comments and messages to ensure people feel valued, engaged, and we are building strong relationships with supporters and potential supporters.

Regularly monitoring social trends to create topical content.

Using tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook insights, and Sprout Social to report on post and channel performance, monitoring and evaluating success against goals on a monthly basis.

Contribute to or initiate the development and improvement of processes that improve delivery and collaboration.

Keep up to date with new features and tech related to social media platforms, as well as other organisations’ activity, to ensure the most engaging and effective content.

Encourage and assist staff members in producing social media content, supporting them with creative and technical guidance and giving feedback.

Contribute to other communications activities such as website and PR content, as necessary.

Attend events, protests and actions as necessary, developing on-the-ground content plans that effectively showcase our actions and further our goals.

Update the wider team on social media progress and insights.

Perform any other duties assigned by the Digital Communications Manager or Head of Communications.

Participate in team meetings including note-taking and facilitation.

Essential Skills and Experience:

Strong working knowledge across multiple key social media platforms, particularly Instagram and Facebook – this could be through professional experience or demonstrable extensive personal use.

Experience in planning, creating, and scheduling social media content ahead of time, as well as reactive content.

An understanding of how different audiences engage with content across various platforms, and what they want to see from each.

Confident using the features and tools of each channel to optimise reach and engagement.

Experience using data and analytics to assess social media performance, extract insights, and apply learnings to improve results.

Proficiency with editing tools to create both video and static graphic content.
Desirable Skills and Experience

Proficient in tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, and Sprout Social (or similar).

Experience in community management, including responding to comments and messages in a timely, appropriate, and engaging way.

Knowledge of factory farming/farmed animal welfare issues

Hours:
As an organisation we work a four day work week. This is a full time position of 30 hours per week over Monday to Thursday.
