Development Director

Main Purpose and Scope of the Role

The Development Director will be a key part of the Action4Youth Senior Management Team, contributing to strategic development of the whole organisation and taking responsibility for the leadership and management of all aspects of business development, sales, fundraising, marketing and communications.

The Development Director will ensure development to support the Strategic and Operational Plans in order to achieve growth, sustainability and stability and to support the Action4Youth core offer i.e.  programme delivery and outdoor education.

Because Action4Youth is a relatively small organisation, teams are small and this means that even senior members of the team like Directors may have to cover for a team member when on leave or generally help out as necessary to achieve targets. In this particular role, that could mean undertaking basic tasks like completing a funding bid to meet a deadline, updating a webpage, writing blog posts or handling sales calls. This job is unusual in genuinely being both strategic and hands on.

Networking is an important part of this role so the post holder will often be expected to attend out of hours events to represent Action4Youth and to develop valuable relationships and connections.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

Development/Sales

• To identify opportunities for the growth of Action4Youth through sales, contracts or fundraising
• To increase sales of The Caldecotte Xperience
• To increase awareness and sales of The Inspiration Programme, The Breakout Programme and other A4Y programmes and offerings
• To identify and secure appropriate new contracts in line with the strategy and business plan

Fundraising

• Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to take account of economic conditions and to meet the needs of Action4Youth.
• To meet fundraising targets for both the fundraising team and personally
• To be responsible for building strong relationships with fundraising bodies and partner agencies.

Marketing and Communication

The Business & Human Rights Resource Centre is seeking a Head of Communications to lead our high-performing communications team. The successful candidate will lead strategic, high-impact external communications across the organisation. They will work closely with our global team across 30 countries involved in research and analysis. They will bring talent, enthusiasm, knowledge and experience. This role currently manages a team of five and reports to the Executive Director. The communications team is tasked to ensure strategic and effective media, social media, and delivery of our digital platform to drive change.

Key competencies and attributes

Strategic communication: At least 5 years’ experience delivering top class communications and expert understanding of how strategic communications deliver change. Demonstrable experience in strategy design and execution. Sharp news sense and editorial judgement; strong grasp of the power of social media to make change happen; and a global perspective to communications.

People manager: At least 3 years’ experience in line management. Experience in nurturing and sustaining a high performing team that thrives in a diverse, and global context. Demonstrable success in supporting project teams to deploy communications strategically for impact.

We are looking for a motivated, creative, and organised Engagement and Communications Officer to join our team. This role is a unique opportunity for someone with a passion for building a fairer legal system through impactful events, engaging member outreach, and powerful communications. This new role within our Working with Communities Team will develop and implement a digital strategy to amplify and support SERT’s presence through increased brand profile, supporter acquisition and engagement and donated revenue. This will involve creating and managing online marketing and fundraising campaigns for the Trust across our digital platforms that grow support for our mission, generate income, reach new audiences and promote the value of the South East’s rivers.

We are looking for a Communications and Engagement Officer with at least two years of relevant experience, who will be able to contribute to our new VCS Capacity Building contract.

Having a good level of experience in producing and designing communications content, excellent copy writing skills with the ability to create clear and compelling content, excellent attention to detail and a strong track record in developing communications which stand out and increase both engagement and awareness.

The role

MIND in Haringey and its partner Public Voice delivers the Voluntary and Community (VCS) Capacity Building contract commissioned by the London Borough of Haringey. The contract, which runs from May 2024 to April 2027 can be extended for a further four years at the discretion of the Client. The Contract includes the administration and management of the Volunteer Centre and the development and promotion of a Navigation Network (NavNet) knowledge sharing platform, META Workplace.

The Community Collaborative team will be located across different sectors of the Borough employed by either MIND in Haringey or Public Voice who make up the consortium partners. Day-to-day management of the Community Collaborative service is the responsibility of the Haringey Community Collaborative Manager.

We are recruiting a Marketing and Communications Officer to champion and manage the PAPYRUS brand and support the delivery of our projects and services through data-driven campaigns, across email, organic social, and paid digital marketing channels.

What you will do:

Support the day to day running of social media platforms to promote our services, increase brand awareness and drive engagement with our audiences.

Act as the lead for paid social media and web campaigns, working closely with teams across the charity to fulfil individual campaign goals.

Charity People are delighted to be working in partnership with the Victory Services Club to recruit a permanent Marketing Coordinator.

The Victory Services Club (VSC) is a successful charity which provides membership services to serving & retired members of the UK Armed Forces, NATO, Commonwealth, and their families. The Club, which is close to Marble Arch, has 200 bedrooms, extensive dining facilities, and seven Event Rooms which are available for Club members. Their Event Rooms are hired to generate revenue for the charity. The Club operates a number of schemes to provide free breaks for serving members of the Armed Forces. We are currently recruiting a Marketing Coordinator.

The Role
Working across all areas of marketing in the business including Front of House, Membership, Events and Food & Beverage. You will be responsible for all aspects of Marketing including updating the website with new content and imagery using CMS, producing and sending out the monthly e-newsletter, producing and replenishing marketing material and supporting on all marketing projects including print and digital campaigns.

The Person
We are looking for a highly motivated, detail ordinated individual who enjoys being creative. You must have strong experience in Marketing and Communications and be familiar with CMS including WordPress. A strong knowledge of social media management is essential. You must possess a good knowledge of Microsoft Word/PowerPoint/Publisher/Excel, along with knowledge of email marketing programmes.

We need a new Director of Communications.  You’ll be responsible for helping us communicate the Gospel and the great work we do in our communities, and telling the good news stories that encourage and inspire us as we embark on our strategy to deliver the Diocesan vision to “bless the 1.5 million people” in our diocese who currently have no meaningful connection with our worshipping communities.  We need someone who can catalyse everyone in the diocese to be better communicators.

The post is based at Church House, Daresbury, with some travel around the Diocese and the option for hybrid working with up to 40% working from home. A full driving licence and access to a car is essential.

Salary: £51,515 - £55,692 per annum, dependent upon skills and experience.

We are looking for a new team member to lead on developing and delivering our communications strategy and managing our communications channels. The post is for 15 hours per week. You will have a passion for good communications and an understanding of marketing and communications strategies. You will have a good eye for detail, a great sense of visual style and the ability to write engaging content. We are looking for someone who is confident with design packages such as Canva and web tool WordPress. 

You will use a range of media including: the OCVA website, our social media accounts (which currently include Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram and LinkedIn) and traditional media such as local newspapers and radio stations.

Who we are:

The Dalit Solidarity Network is a small human rights organisation working to eliminate caste-based discrimination in the UK and South Asia. Registering as an official charity in 2003, Dalit Solidarity Network UK continues to grow as an effective campaigning and advocacy organisation, working on the issue of caste discrimination in the UK and being an active player in the global movement.  Our major areas of work include documenting 'everyday casteism', building capacity of businesses to address caste-discrimination in overseas supply chains and UK operations and working with UK Higher Education Institutions to protect against caste-discrimination.

About the role:

We are seeking a part-time Office Administrator for 2 days/week, initially for one year with a possibility of renewal. The hours can be worked flexibly with prior agreement of the Director. Hybrid-working arrangements (from home and on site) will be considered.  

Main responsibilities:

Administration:

· Responsible for day-to-day administration and office management and providing secretarial assistance to the Director & diary management.

· Maintenance of files and records both physical and computerised system filing and computerised database systems and email lists.

· General office management including scheduling meetings, arranging travel, managing expenses, liaising for office management, ordering office supplies, etc.

· Organise and take minutes for key meetings – including quarterly Board meetings and AGM.

· Undertake such duties and responsibilities appropriate to the role as the Director may request.

Communication and Outreach:

· Maintain and update DSN-UK website and social media,  coordinate internal and external information-sharing and communication with stakeholders and network partners.

Finance and Accounts:

· Responsible for maintaining records of all financial transactions and reconciliation of all bank statements.

· Assist in the preparation of budgets for donor proposals to ensure all relevant costs are included and that the budget is accurate and comprehensive.

Person specification:

Essential:

• Experience of working in an office providing admin support, including the ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Experience of management of spread sheets for budgeting, financial analysis and reporting
• Good digital communications skills - including writing emails, newsletters, and drafting web copy, demonstrating good written and oral communications skills in English
• Knowledge and experience of mass email tools and systems
• Experience in taking formal minutes or notes
• Ability to carry out instructions quickly and accurately
• Good interpersonal skills
• Excellent attention to detail

Location: Hybrid working with options for flexibility to work from home - the postholder will be expected to work from our central London office periodically, e.g. 1 day per 2 weeks.
