CVAA UK is a membership organisation supporting not-for-profit adoption agencies across the UK who specialise in finding homes for children in care. Over 3000 children in the UK need adoption each year because they cannot remain at home or with family members. The CVAA Practice Programme delivers 30 or more online courses each year to those working in the sector, primarily social workers. The programme has developed a strong reputation for attracting a range of subject experts to deliver cost effective, engaging and useful training. The full programme is listed on the CVAA UK website and inlcudes topics such as LGBTQ+ parenting; therapy for children; identity formation; racism and anti-racism; parenting courses; theraplay and many more.

Due to a restructure of the team, we are now looking for a Training Manager who can oversee the delivery of the programme from mid to late July 2024. Initially fixed term, it is anticipated that this post will become permanent.

The Training Manager will work with the Head of Practice Development and the Programme Administrator to ensure that the courses are full, delivered effectively and evaluated. Part of the role will also be to source new trainers and support the creation of the programme into 2025.

The CVAA team work remotely across the UK so location of the postholder is not a barrier to recruitment as long as long as they can travel occasionally and come into London for team days. The team is small, diverse and dynamic. Experience of project management or delivery of training or events is more important than knowledge of adoption or children's social care. We're looking for a confident, enthusiastic individual who can help us to get more people involved in shaping Lancashire Mind.

Lancashire Mind is a local charity working to prevent poor mental health. We support people experiencing common mental health conditions, such as anxiety and depression. We work with children and adults, offering universal services to help people improve their mental wellbeing, along with targeted services for people and communities at increased risk of experiencing poor mental health or facing mental health inequalities. We’re working towards a Lancashire where everyone can have the best mental health and wellbeing possible.

We have a responsibility to engage the communities we serve, to make sure we know and understand them. It's vital we do this to identify need and understand barriers and to design services alongside people. We do this well on an individual service level, with many of our projects designed with the people who use them but we need to improve how we involve people with lived experience in organisation-wide development plans and key decision making.

To help us work towards our plans for embedding participation, we're looking for someone to join our Engagement and Inclusion Team to work with the communities we aim to serve, with a focus on those who are underrepresented within Lancashire Mind services. The role has been designed to ensure that the experiences, perspectives and ideas of local people are being listened to and acted upon.

The ideal candidate will have experience of working within communities and knowledge of the barriers that people face to achieving mental wellbeing and accessing services. You'll be confident, creative and able to work autonomously in the community, where you'll communicate with a wide range of people and quickly build rapport.

The focus of the role will be to ensure that more people with lived experience of poor mental health know who Lancashire Mind are, what we do and how they can influence our work. You'll work with the Community Engagement Projects Lead to create a range of opportunities for people to participate, including establishing formal structures, for example a lived experience panel and youth advisory group, which you'll design with the people who want to get involved. You'll work with colleagues across all teams to ensure opportunities to influence Lancashire Mind's work are promoted to everyone who uses our services.

Our ESOL service was established in 2017 and now runs 5 days per week and offers English lessons for resettled refugees and an English Club with an emphasis on learning skills for integration into UK society. SUMMARY OF POST

The ESOL Creche Deputy is a qualified childcare professional able to deputise and support the ESOL Creche Team Leader. You perform a key role caring for children, maintaining a high-quality, stimulating learning environment and imparting your knowledge and skills to others. You are a creative and reflective leader able to implement new ideas and use a range of strategies to continually improve practice. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To contribute to the creation of a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all children.
• To deputise for the ESOL Creche Team Leader, ensuring that the room is set up appropriately, prior to the children arriving. 
• At the end of the session, ensure the room is packed away and returned to the same condition as when you arrived. 
• To assist in the development of the Crèche’s policies and procedures in accordance with EYFS standards.
• To be aware of the Crèche’s policies and procedures and ensure these are adhered to.
• To be responsible for the welfare of all children in your care, organising systems to ensure consistent, high-quality care. 
• To be vigilant and protect children from harm or abuse, reporting any concerns immediately – in accordance with child protection and whistleblowing policies. 
• To deploy staff and resources effectively, maintaining ratios in the room. 
• To reflect on practice and routines, tailoring them to meet the individual needs of each child throughout the day. 
• To lead planning and the provision of a stimulating range of age-appropriate activities and ensuring your room is well-resourced and creatively set-up. 
• To lead observations and the assessment of children’s learning and development ensuring records are kept up to date, are of a high standard and are shared effectively. 
• To work in partnership with all parents/carers, building and maintaining relationships that encourage trust, open communication, and involvement in Crèche life. 
• To contribute to the effective recording and resolution of any complaints or investigations, always ensuring confidentiality. 
• To be professional and a good role model to the children and other staff members, always.

REQUIRED SKILLS

To successfully carry out this role you will need:

• to be a registered Pharmacy Technician with GPhC
• an NVQ Level 3 Pharmacy Services BTEC Pharmacy Technician (or equivalent)
• evidence of your continuous professional development
• at least 2 years post-qualification experience of working in a pharmacy environment
• experience of providing medicine related advice to service users/carers
• experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team
• knowledge of controlled drugs regulations
• be organised, able to prioritise well and deal with unexpected demands on your time
• to be comfortable using IT and gathering, monitoring and analysing data
• good oral and written communication skills
• be able to work alone but also recognise when to refer in line with your personal/professional limitations
• able to travel to different locations as and when required
