We are seeking a Head of IT to lead the technical delivery in support of our IT strategy. This is a new role and will be our first standalone IT member of staff. You will shape the IT support and infrastructure for the charity, deliver an excellent day to day service, manage the relationship with our Managed Service Provider (MSP), take responsibility for cyber security and training and, alongside project teams, support the implementation of new technology to the service.

You will have strong people skills and be able to form effective working relationships with colleagues across the charity in order to deliver an excellent IT service. You will have a hands-on approach and enjoy working in partnership with a range of people. You will also have good knowledge and experience of IT infrastructure including Azure.

About the role:

We began a contract with the Ministry of Justice in June 2021, delivering a pan London Housing Advice & Interventions Service, in partnership with St Mungo's. With Single Homeless Project staff co-located in probation offices, you will be working in close partnership with Probation Services, to support people on probation to either sustain their current accommodation or to secure new housing as needed. 

We are seeking people who could deliver housing advice, guidance and support to clients. Working with a caseload in your local designated boroughs, you will produce comprehensive and high-quality assessments on their support needs; particularly their housing, employment and financial needs and follow the most suitable pathway for them. 

We are also looking for people who are interested in working in this sector and with this client group.  We encourage applications from those, who are also at the beginning of their career path - graduates and those with transferrable skills & experience.

About you:

• Some understanding of working in supported housing or floating support services, with a demonstrable knowledge of Housing and other related Legislation or a relevant qualification

• Experience of managing complex and difficult situations in relation to vulnerable client group(s). 

• Ability to effectively liaise with a range of service providers or agencies in order to establish or improve services for clients. 

• An understanding of the principles underlying a quality service, and customer focused, with proven ability to empower service users. 

• Ability to be self-motivating, work under pressure, and manage time effectively, prioritising different areas of work according to need

Events and Community Fundraising Coordinator

What the job involves

We’re looking an Events and Community Fundraising Coordinator to join our high performing Events and Community Team. The team are driven to maximise opportunities, we aim to reach ambitious targets and provide an excellent supporter experience.

Our team raise funds through a range of activities including:

• Our own events (e.g. March for Men)
• Virtual products (e.g. The Month Series)
• Third party events (e.g. London Marathon)
• Golf Days
• Helping community fundraisers who organise their own activity

You’ll be supporting our third-party events programme and be our first point of contact for our fundraisers. You'll provide admin support for our registration processes and support fundraisers through telephone, email, and social media channels. You’ll build and manage relationships with existing and new supporters. From registration to the end of their supporter journey you'll help motivate during challenges, offer fundraising advice and ensure thanks at the end of a first-class experience.

Whilst third party events will be your primary area of responsibility across different types of events, you’ll also get the chance to work across teams to provide support where needed during busy periods of activity.

This role works with data through maintaining our Raiser’s Edge database. You'll also update records on JustGiving and Enthuse. This requires accuracy and working under the requirements of GDPR.

You’ll also work with our Communications teams supports the planning and delivery of our activity. You'll help engage with our digital adverts and identify compelling supporter stories. This helps to raise the profile of our fundraising products, as well as prostate cancer and Prostate Cancer UK.

You’ll have the drive and eagerness to provide crucial support to our sector-leading programme of activity which generated £12.9M of income in 2023-24. • Prepare and administer correspondence and relevant paperwork and ensure maintenance for full and accurate database (D365/First Class) records, analysing financial and non-financial data to monitor and improve engagement and customer service performance.
• Proactively keep abreast of competitor activities, new initiatives and sector trends. 
• Effectively plan and execute legacy events around the country, with the aim of motivating supporters to consider leaving a gift in their Will.

• Build, manage and maintain a portfolio of donors from £5,000 gifts upwards, stewarding relationships to ensure donor satisfaction and long-term financial commitment, including detailed and timely reporting as well as engagement with senior stakeholders within St John.
• Collaborate effectively with colleagues in fundraising to identify major donor prospects and opportunities to maximise donor experience – such as work with Supporter Engagement and the Community Fundraising team.

• Provide continual training and compliance monitoring support to our Face to Face partners in the execution of all door, private Sites and events fundraising, this includes leading on developing new opportunities in conjunction with St John events.
• Oversee and collaboratively work with our Telephone Fundraising partners on their training and compliance of all deliverables such as welcome calls, upgrades, reactivations and other fundraising campaigns – includes caller listening
• Oversee regular audits of agents, to monitor against key auditory compliance and performance metrics.
• Manage relationships with our Face to Face partners with training, development and materials, and performance reviews. Monitoring various forms or training and reviewing inductions in line with our agreed contract.
• Build a strong knowledge of all areas of St John Ambulance’s work, carrying out continual research and gathering information, case studies and photos for use in training booklets, scripts and materials. Where appropriate, to liaise with external agencies such as designers and copywriters.

Events Officer
Working Hours:  30 to 37 Hours per week
Salary: FTE up to £30,000 per annum, (pro rata)

Herts Young Homeless is an independent charity and has been supporting vulnerable people in Hertfordshire since 1998. We are professional, passionate, collaborative and supportive charity that provides guidance to everyone who is in need of support.

We are looking for dedicated and passionate Events Officer to join our team based in Hatfield!

How will you make a difference? 

Manage, develop and evaluate an engaging programme of events fundraising, and support the Community Fundraising Officer when delivering local events to raise a target income of £90k . Support groups and individuals organising fundraising events and activities on behalf of hyh. To support the development and delivery of the Communications Plan.

What will you be doing? 

Contribute to hyh’s overall Fundraising strategy as a member of the Fundraising Team

• Identify, develop and support existing and new community and events fundraising activities to increase and generate significant net income and supporter engagement
• Provide excellent donor care for all fundraising activities, to develop productive and lasting relationships with the community and convert them into loyal supporters
  
• Assist the Head of Fundraising & Communications  in the development and delivery of hyh’s Events and Communications Plans
• Update donor CRM databases and website

About the Role

1 in 10 children in the UK have serious emotional and behavioural difficulties, which place them at further risk of negative outcomes later in life. Chance UK’s mission is to help support them to reduce these difficulties, find and acknowledge their strengths and talents, and to help them flourish. We do this via a structured 1:1 weekly mentoring programme, which matches them with specialist youth workers to mentor them for up to a year, alongside a range of support for their parent/carers.

Our approach is different from other services – we are there with the child and the family to understand what’s important to them, what they need, and give them the support, space and time to ensure the whole family is stronger. Chance UK’s Parent Programme Managers play a vital role in engaging parents in the mentoring support their children are receiving in order to get the best outcomes and lasting long-term positive change for the children.

With a growing number of strategic programmes, our Transformation Management Office (TMO) is embarking on a journey to expand as a function. We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager with proven track record in Programme Management, expectational leadership skills and a passion for delivering results.  

Together, the team in the TMO takes great pride in managing a diverse portfolio of programmes and projects. We work closely with our Executive team, as well as other senior leaders and colleagues across the charity, to provide expertise in project, programme and change management. 

Our strategy has teamwork at its heart. We want someone keen to become an integral part of the delivery and get out there to understand the RBL and make a difference to the lives of those who have served, and currently serve, to keep us safe and protect our way of life.

The successful Programme Manager should be proficient and highly motivated to help shape and execute strategic initiatives, foster cross-functional collaboration, and drive successful project outcomes. Working with an experienced team you will be reporting into the Transformation Cluster Leader. 

Some of the key areas of responsibility are as follows: 

• Develop and execute comprehensive Programme plans, outlining scope, goals and deliverables.
• Establish and maintain open and transparent communication channels, providing updates on progress, challenges, and milestones.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure Programme deliverables meet or exceed established standards.
• Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate against potential risks.
• Lead and motivate cross-functional teams, fostering collaborate and productive working environment.
