We are looking for someone to join us for a maternity cover contract from February 2026 to March 2027.  In our London Office vet team as our Veterinary Nurse Manager overseeing and supporting our vet nurse teams across the organisation.  

What does this role do?

As a Veterinary nurse manager you will,
 

• Lead and manage including making any required changes to  the SAS and VSF funding schemes, supporting the team to manage their workload.
• Oversee the invoice management for payments relating to these schemes and liaising with the Head of Finance.
• Support the Senior Vet Nurses in managing the Emergency Trust Fund (ETF) and any exceptional funding agreed for veterinary care of dogs.
• Provide professional support to the veterinary nursing teams working within the rehoming centres supporting their individual professional development as well as the functions of the vet suites. 
• Oversee patient safety and continual improvement across all vet nurse teams.
• Liaise with wider DT departments (Operations, Communications and Customer Support Centre) to manage escalated complaints which may include difficult or sensitive situations.
•  Represent the clinical veterinary team in cross organisational projects as well as undertake project management work that aligns with our strategy.

The School Library Association (SLA) supports approximately 2000 members working in schools across the UK with advice, training and advocacy. The School Library Lead will be at the forefront of our member offer and outreach, to help us deliver on our mission to support all those working in school libraries, so that more children and young people reach their full potential through the school library.   

This role will lead on providing advice, inspiration and support for schools looking to develop their school library provision and all the benefits this brings. An expert in school libraries, you will be comfortable supporting members 1:1, delivering training to larger audiences, providing consultancy to schools and sector organisations, writing training and resources, or preparing book recommendations. An exciting opportunity for someone experienced in school libraries with knowledge of the curriculum, teaching and learning and children’s books, you will be the first port of call for library advice and expertise, contributing to the growth and sustainability of the membership network.

You will be experienced in developing relationships with a variety of stakeholders at all levels relish a busy role. This will include supporting our Branch network, collaborating on initiatives for development, delivery and new projects as they come online. As resident children’s book expert, you will support with programmes and projects such as the SLA Information Book Award and member book-related events. You will work with your SLA colleagues to develop and deliver high-quality member events and training as well as advocacy events to raise awareness of the importance of school libraries. Using your sector insight, you will identify opportunities for development of initiatives that will support the SLA vision and mission enabling us to reach more children and young people through our work.  This is a busy and rewarding role and will suit someone with passion and resilience.

In this newly created role within the People and Culture Team, you will lead on shaping and delivering the Talent journey and ensuring the organisation recruits and develops the right talent, while fostering a culture of continuous learning. The Role
 
As an Assurance Officer, you’ll manage a portfolio of Approved Training Providers (ATPs), ensuring they meet the organisation’s stringent quality criteria. You’ll deliver exceptional customer service, address quality issues proactively, and support the ongoing quality assurance of the organisation’s certified training courses. Your role will also involve reviewing online exam videos to maintain the integrity of assessments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage applications from organisations seeking ATP status or course certification.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with ATPs, responding to queries promptly.
• Plan and support quality assurance activities, including audits, course observations, and performance analysis.
• Review proctoring videos to identify potential malpractice and ensure compliance.
• Handle quality issues, including complaints, delegate feedback, and pass rate data.
• Prepare reports and data for audits and investigations.
• Manage invoicing and payment processes for ATPs and Technical Assessors.
• Contribute to process improvements, enhancing the ATP and learner experience.

 
 
Skills and Experience required

• Strong experience in quality assurance, ideally within an awarding organisation, regulatory environment, or professional body. 
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to critically assess information, identifying potential risks or irregularities. 
• Strong customer service and account management skills with experience in building relationships with stakeholders. 
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with CRM systems.

As a Welfare Services Navigator, you will be on the front line of the organisation, providing essential support to beneficiaries through our helpline, email, and web chat services. You will advise members of the RAF family on the financial assistance and support services available through the RAF Benevolent Fund, guiding them on how to access these resources when needed.

The successful candidate will be proactive, with experience of working with people in a supportive capacity. They must be able to engage sensitively and professionally with individuals of all ages and backgrounds. A solid level of administrative experience is essential, ideally gained within a welfare or support-focused environment, along with confidence in using CRM IT systems.

The role will be office based at our London HQ, with a minimum of three days working in the office per week. The successful candidate for this role will need to be Basic DBS checked and prove they have the right to work in the UK.
