MediCinema is a unique national, UK registered charity that improves the wellbeing and enriches the quality of life of NHS patients, their families and carers through the power of the shared cinema experience and the magic of film. We achieve this by building and running cinemas in hospitals and places of care equipped with space for beds, wheelchairs and medical equipment, and providing free films and activities for patients of all ages. Our services help to improve emotional, mental and physical health, reducing isolation, anxiety and stress, and increasing patient resilience to help them cope with what they’re going through.

The Role

We are looking for a Cinema Manager to build and run our brand new service at Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

The post-holder will build their team of nurses and volunteers and will work closely with them, the hospital, and with central office operations team to prepare for and run successful film screenings each week.

We will run four regular inpatient screenings each week – exact times and dates to be agreed with all stakeholders, but will include evenings and weekends. There will also be a programme of additional Tailored and Personal screenings on top of these four regular inpatient screenings.

 Main Tasks and Responsibilities

The role of the Cinema Manager is essential to ensure the effective and safe delivery of our service. Based at Birmingham Children’s Hospital the role is responsible for all operational aspects of the service. This includes ensuring screenings happen on schedule and as planned, recruiting and managing volunteers and nurses, and developing relationships with a variety of hospital staff and departments to ensure the service is widely promoted and utilised, and to work together on developing Tailored Screening groups and identify candidates for Personal Screenings.

The position would be part of the larger cinema managers team (all of whom operate remotely at various hospital sites) and report to the National Cinema Manager who is based in our central office in London. This position would suit someone who is self-motivated, wants a varied and interesting role and has an interest in film, healthcare and helping to improve people’s wellbeing.

Service Delivery

• Deliver a programme of screenings each week as agreed according to the operating procedures of a MediCinema, including running and managing screenings on your own. Most screenings are held in the evenings so the role requires regular evening working.
• Be responsible for:
  • Marketing the service throughout the hospital, organising collecting and returning patients, and for safety and care in the cinema itself.
  • Taking responsibility for health and safety of patients coming to the cinema, and the safety and appearance of the cinema space itself.
  • Preparing and operating the digital projection equipment for the screening, ensuring that films are screened to the highest technical standards at all times. Training and ongoing technical support will be provided for this.
  • Ensuring that all operational, welfare and safeguarding policies set out by MediCinema are followed accordingly, and that consent forms are obtained for photographic or filmed records.
  • Ensuring that all aspects of the operation comply with relevant health and safety legislation, and that areas where MediCinema might be in breach of such are dealt with immediately or brought to the attention of the appropriate authorities for rectification.

• Collate, analyse and report back on agreed metrics and KPI’s
• Support with arranging and running any special events and special screenings
• When required, arrange and run additional personal screenings for patients unable to attend regular screenings, plus special tailored screenings with particular hospital departments and patient groups.
• Manage the local development and roll out of different Tailored Screening patient groups. Also any other potential new type of screenings we embark on.
• Support the delivery of our ‘Beyond the Big Screen’ bedside services, such as our Disney ‘Moments that Matter’ work.

Nurse & Volunteer Management

• Build, manage and support the team of nurses and volunteers to assist in the duties outlined above and to ensure that screenings run safely and smoothly – this will include managing recruitment and creating monthly rotas.
• Work closely with Voluntary Services Department of the hospital about all the checks and training required for volunteers.

Marketing and Relationship Management

• Be proactive in marketing the service within the hospital, and building key relationships with hospital staff and our partner Birmingham Children’s Hospital Charity.
• Develop and manage effective partnerships throughout the hospital and community.
• Represent the organisation effectively and compellingly at all times.
• Support the programming and development of the MediCinema as a centre for entertainment, being pro-active in developing a creative programme of sustainable events at each site. This could include supporter events, live performance and other relevant activities.

Administration and other duties

• Provide holiday or emergency screening cover when required.
• Manage the collection, loading and returning of films.
• Champion the work of MediCinema within the hospital and cinema environment, as well as confidently and positively representing MediCinema in all interactions and at any meetings and events, including supporter visits.
• Contribute to the strategic development of the Birmingham MediCinema, operations and MediCinema as a wider organisation
• Communicate effectively with all team members, ensuring an inclusive and whole organisation approach

• Undertake other tasks, projects and duties as reasonably required.

MediCinema is a small team and staff members are expected to support each other and share cross-organisational work in addition to fulfilling individual responsibilities.

Grant-making is central to GiveOut’s mission of growing giving to support LGBTQI human rights activism globally. London Support Programme - Prison Caseworker

Role summary

The London Support Programme (LSP) is a pilot service delivered by the Hardman Trust, providing pre- and post-release support to people on long sentences who are returning to London. This first year of delivery has enabled us to begin offering support, and we are now refining the programme for its next stage.

We are recruiting two part-time, Prison Caseworkers to deliver frontline support, ensuring that people serving long sentences continue to receive consistent, personalised help in preparing for release and rebuilding their lives.

As a Prison Caseworker, you will provide one-to-one, person-centred support focused on wellbeing, confidence-building, and preparation for life after release.
You will support people to set meaningful goals, connect with services, and problem-solve challenges along the way.

The role involves building trusting relationships, promoting the programme across the prison, keeping accurate records, and contributing to the continued development of this pilot into a sustainable, long-term service.

You will be managed and supported by the Head of Service Delivery.

Core responsibilities

• One-to-one support delivery – Provide tailored support to people in prison signed up to the LSP, including initial support planning, goal-setting, problem-solving and referrals to both internal (e.g. Grants, Research Volunteers, Penfriends) and external services.

• Remote support – Provide light-touch support to LSP participants released from prison, during their initial weeks of resettlement, using telephone/video calls, and email to check in, offer guidance, and help address early challenges.

• Service promotion – Actively promote the LSP within pilot and potential partner prisons to increase sign-ups and engagement.

• Administration – Keep accurate, timely records of support activities and outcomes using Salesforce and NOMIS systems.

• Service development – Support the Head of Service Delivery by contributing learning and feedback from frontline delivery, to inform the ongoing refinement of the programme model and resources.

• Collaboration & team contribution - Work closely with colleagues to promote products and services, gather and analyse user feedback, and ensure continuous improvement. Contribute to organisational reporting, monitoring, and evaluation.

You will manage a diverse portfolio of supporters, including trusts, foundations, corporates, and individuals while growing our mid-level giving programme and building a strong pipeline of future donors.

Meet your Manager

In this role you will be managed by Sebastien De Menthon who is a Philanthropy Manager and joined ClientEarth in 2022, based in London. Sebastien discovered ClientEarth while studying anthropology and law at university. The high-leverage legal approach to achieve tangible progress on the climate and biodiversity crisis was immediately appealing. Since joining ClientEarth as a Philanthropy Officer, Sebastien has progressed to the Philanthropy Manager position where he supports and oversees two members of the Philanthropy Team. He has found that working in the Philanthropy Team has been a fantastic way to support ClientEarth's mission while learning about the world and developing skills in relationship management and communication. 

Main Duties

• Actively manage donor relationships across assigned portfolio of largely UK supporters with first class stewardship and reporting to secure renewals and uplifts of approximately £500,000 pa.
• Support with oversight of engagement with supporters ranging from £10,000 - £50,000. Galvanise and coordinate the European Philanthropy team to identify opportunities to uplift giving and ensure all supporters feel valued.
• Develop the pipeline of new donors through effective prospect research, network mapping and connecting with new contacts at external and internal events as a representative of ClientEarth.
• Support the Philanthropy Manager, Philanthropy Lead for Europe and all the Philanthropy Team to create the conditions for success in the European Philanthropy Team. Collaborating with colleagues across Europe inclusively to achieve shared goals and strengthen processes.

Role requirements

• Experience of providing best practice donor stewardship and relationship development with demonstrable evidence of securing or managing five and six figure gifts
• Experience of identifying, cultivating and soliciting prospects
• Experience of raising funds from donors in different geographies
• Ability to write compelling communications materials including fundraising campaigns, donor reports, and proposals

We have a vacancy for an innovative and enthusiastic fundraiser to join our Development team.  

This is a pivotal role within the Development Office. The successful candidate will lead the College’s regular giving programme, increasing participation levels and raising funds through targeted direct mail and email appeals, telephone fundraising appeals, and online campaigns. The postholder will also develop the College’s range of fundraising literature as well as managing gift processing and reporting.

Working hours

However, the postholder will need to have a flexible approach to working hours in order to support some activities that are outside these times.

The successful candidate will join us at a particularly exciting period of organisational growth and will support us to deliver on increased grant making activity. They will lead the day-to-day operational delivery of our grant making programmes – including overseeing systems and processes to ensure efficient and effective grant making and maintaining relationships with grantees, other funders, and key stakeholders as required. This is an exciting opportunity to join DARO as Donor Experience Manager, helping to shape and deliver outstanding donor journeys for multiple audiences. In this role, you’ll play a key part in deepening relationships with our donors and volunteers, ensuring that their experience of supporting beneficiaries is meaningful, personal and impactful.

You will lead on the planning and delivery of our donor experience programme, from tailored communications and impact reports to stewardship and cultivation events, campus visits and administration of our Recognition Circles. You will manage a team of two Donor Experience Officers, setting individual and team objectives while providing day-to-day support, clear direction, and opportunities for professional development. This role sits in the Fundraising team within the Development and Alumni Relations Office.

Working closely with colleagues across Fundraising, Charitable and Corporate Partnerships (Trusts and Foundations), Communications, Events, Data and Supporter Insight and Campaign Management, as well as academics and Professional Services colleagues across the University, you’ll ensure a joined-up approach that puts donors at the heart of our work. You’ll also support the engagement and recognition of volunteers, including bespoke activity for our Alumni Leadership Mentoring Programme members.

We’re looking for a creative and collaborative individual with experience in donor or stakeholder engagement, event delivery, and writing for impact. You’ll bring a strategic mindset, excellent relationship management skills, and a genuine passion for enhancing the donor experience at a leading university.

Spear Foundation

• Recruit young people onto the course and prepare them to engage.
• Prepare and deliver coaching sessions for up to 15 young people to transform their attitudes and readiness to step into the world of work.
• Work with volunteers to deliver one-to-one weekly sessions to check-in on individual progress, guide and motivate them.
• Build relationships with the young people and keep them engaged.

Spear Career

• Maintain contact with trainees and continue relationships with them to keep track of their progress into employment and encourage them.
• Maintain records through data gathering and data entry into Salesforce.

Relationship management

• Build and manage relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including referrers, local businesses and other organisations.
• Participate in job fairs, run taster sessions, recruit and support volunteers for mock interview days, and welcome visitors to the centre.

Church community

• Fully engage with the Trinity and St Paul’s staff teams, including participation in staff prayers, socials and retreat days.
• Be an advocate for the Spear Programme within the life of the church, including the recruitment of volunteers.

I am working exclusively with a respected not-for-profit organisation who are currently in the market for a very proactive and experienced HR Administrator to join their HR team, working on a 6-month fixed-term contract with the view of potentially extending (via a fair and open process). You will be responsible for providing effective and efficient administrative support to the HR team.

You will act as a first point of contact for HR related administrative queries and support the team with a wide variety of HR tasks. This will include recruitment support and candidate liaison, administration support for the learning and development programme, new starter onboarding, HR inbox management as well as arranging meetings, and providing light diary and administration support for the HR Director.

Key Duties

Administration and support

• As a member of the HR team, you will ensure that all administration activities which support the work of the HR team are managed in a proactive and efficient way.
• Support the daily proactive management of the HR inbox, ensuring that appropriate action is taken to respond and forward relevant emails to the HR team with follow-up actions if needed.
• Provide administrative support to the HR Director, which could include room booking, arranging meetings and other ad-hoc requests.
• Maintain and keep up-to-date digital employee files and ensure employment records and documents are compliant, filed and retained according to data management and retention guidelines. Support a longer-term project to move to full digitisation of all HR files.
• Input data into the HR information system and other agreed systems such as address changes, holiday requests etc.
• Maintain structure charts, recruitment spreadsheets and HR activity trackers to ensure they are set up and utilised in the most effective way.
• Support the delivery of HR or L&D projects or events, including room bookings and catering administration
• Responsible for financial administration such as purchase orders, setting up new suppliers and invoice management
• Keep up to date with relevant employment law and understanding of various HR administrative activities

Recruitment Administration

• Support employment and recruitment administration, including liaison with employment agencies, candidates and hiring managers
• Prepare, review and amend letters and documents to support key HR activities, including employee onboarding, probation and induction.
• Conduct new starter HR inductions and support exit arrangements
• Ensure that the relevant HR activity checklists are up-to-date and stored correctly for each activity
• Maintain any trackers that support the HR team activities and be responsible for the consistent use and application of these as sources of accurate HR information.

Systems

• Support the team in the move towards two new HR platforms this year, and any additional administration around these projects.
• Maintain the HRIS system and Applicant Tracking System where appropriate
• Provide administration support for logging, reviewing and editing data requests within the HR Information system as well as new starter and leaver IT requests.

• Excellent administrative experience and evidence of supporting a range of activities to support core business needs
• Understanding of the end-to-end recruitment process, from advertising jobs, arranging interviews, drafting contracts and onboarding.
