We are looking for a Funding Officer to join the enthusiastic, friendly Liverpool City Region team in the North West Region, primarily focussed on North Liverpool. 

This opportunity is a fixed term contract starting September 2025 for 14 months (November 2026)

You will play a major role in ensuring our funding supports a wide variety of communities and places across North Liverpool, Liverpool City Region and the North West region.

As a member of the funding team you will assess applications for funding and manage grants from our Reaching Communities and Partnerships programmes. You will use your local knowledge and experience, and the experience of our grant holders and local stakeholders, to ensure we are making the best decisions on the grants we make. By working closely with people and communities from a defined geographical area, you will understand what matters to them and where our funding can make the biggest difference.

The role is varied and will require you to: 

• Be responsible for your own caseload: visiting projects, liaising with grant recipients, identify and manage risks and supporting organisations to delivery their projects and measure their impact.

Main duties of the job

No two days in our team are the same. This role will be based onsite in the office in Bath, with some opportunities to work flexibly.  You will have a varied role which involves managing a wide range of duties and tasks, including.

• Supporting the Head of Operations with administrative, finance, compliance, and governance tasks.
• Leading internal processes, including banking and financial processes, supplier relationships, and documentation.
• Helping maintain accurate financial records and managing charity databases and systems.
• Data management, analysis, segmentation and reporting to drive strategic decision-making across the RUHX team.
• Helping embed good financial and data practices that support our values and enhance our culture

Essential criteria

• Educated to graduate level or equivalent, appropriate work experience
• Evidence of continuing professional development

Desirable criteria

• Evidence of a qualification in Fundraising or financial / management accounting
• Experience of Raisers Edge NXT
• AAT Level 3 qualified

Knowledge

Essential criteria

• Two years’ experience in charity operations, including financial systems, accounts and CRM databases
• Experience using accounting software and producing complex regular income and expenditure reports to inform the wider charity teams on progress and performance against plans.
• Demonstrable experience using and administrating a charity CRM to a high level to deliver insights and reporting to the broader organisation.
• Experience in delivering training on finance and CRM systems to colleagues.
• Experience in customer care and delivering customer-facing support on the phone, in person and via email.
• Ability to interpret and implement with minimal guidance, legislation surrounding SORP and Institute of Fundraising Codes of Practice, regulations and best practice.
• Knowledge and understanding of the not-for-profit sector
• Experience of having a planned and organised approach to managing their own workload to meet tight deadlines

Desirable criteria

• Experience of working in the NHS
• Experience of setting, managing and reporting on income and expenditure budgets.

Job Title: Activities Coordinator

Location: Face to face delivery, based in Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) - Local Stations: Westbourne Park and Ladbroke Grove (Circle & Hammersmith and City lines) 

Salary: £32,600

Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00. You may also be required to work evenings and bank holidays as required.

About the role

We are looking for an Activities Coordinator to work across multiple services within the area, to manage the running and coordination of regular activities, events, and trips for our residents. Our service provides support to residents who have multiple and complex needs which could include mental health, substance use, homelessness, and/or offending backgrounds. You will line manage a team of 2 peer support mentors. Our Peer Mentor role is designed for people who have lived experience of that faced by our residents. You will support with all aspects of line management and wellbeing support, ensuring they are well supported within their role. 

As an Activities Coordinator, you will coordinate and deliver high quality activities and programmes which work in support to individual support places and goals, by creating a calendar of activities, celebrations, awareness months/days/weeks and events to encourage social skills and community engagement. You will also maintain effective stakeholder relationships, find new partnerships, and create a catalogue of partners which are easily accessible. 

About you

We're looking for someone who has a true passion to support those who have multiple and complex needs, with a drive to help support those who suffer with homelessness, mental health, and substance use. You will be able to build rapport and trusting relations in a professional setting, and able to build positive outcomes. You will have an adaptable and flexible approach to helping others, with an understanding that each individual has different levels and types of support needs. 

• Ability to use, learn and adapt to IT at an intermediate level, including Microsoft and other software programs.
• Experience of working with people of complex backgrounds and/or a good understanding of the sector
• Experience in coordinating and/or delivering activities and programmes with people from various backgrounds
• Ability to lead a team, and support them in achieving outcomes necessary for personal and professional outcomes
