This is both a strategic and hands-on role, with specific responsibility for cultivation, stewardship and increasing our fundraised income through major gifts and philanthropy, across individuals, grant and trust funders and corporate foundations.

We are committed to eliminating viral hepatitis, a devastating disease that affects more than 300 million people and is now the second most deadly infectious disease in the world.

We are seeking an experienced project manager to lead WHA’s delivery of the SAFEStart+ project. Focused on accelerating the elimination of mother-to-child transmission (EVT) of HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B, and Chagas disease in endemic areas. The project will focus on demand generation, adoption and scale-up of innovative EVT programmes through strong community and stakeholder leadership. It will do this in part, through understanding the values and preferences of stakeholders, addressing barriers around awareness and stigma and discrimination, providing training to both community groups and health care workers and undertaking community led monitoring. These community led-activities will run alongside work in countries to strengthen health systems and supply chains and address gaps in product access.

The duties and key responsibilities of the Community Implementation Manager include:

• Plan and coordinate WHA activities related to the project to ensure that goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed time and funding parameters.
• Manage community implementation partners within project countries, working closely with them to develop advocacy and awareness strategies, implement community-based research , monitor budgets in line with approved policies and measure impact.
• Support the coordination of global and country community advisory boards.
• Be the main point of contact for all project partners, fostering positive working relationships to ensure effective coordination throughout the projects’ lifecycle.
• Support capacity building efforts for community groups and health care workers in project countries.
• Work with teams across WHA, including communications and advocacy, to ensure the project outcomes are being appropriately disseminated.

As a Test Analyst, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of software applications, most notably our Salesforce CRM system, through rigorous testing and analysis.
You will work closely with developers, project managers, and other stakeholders to identify and resolve issues, ensuring that the final product meets the highest standards of quality and performance.

What the job involves

This is a unique chance to play a pivotal role in driving impactful external communication strategies that support High Value, Philanthropy and Partnerships teams. As a key player in the Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Brand team, you’ll enable the integration of high value fundraising activities into wider organisational communications, inspiring action to fund life-saving initiatives that help men navigate prostate cancer.

Supporting the Head of Strategic Communications, Campaigns and Brand and our senior Business Partner in embedding and developing our business partnering model. A major part of the role will be enabling the integration of High Value Fundraising activity into the wider communications plan to enhance results from our communications.

You’ll work closely with our Philanthropy, Corporate Partnerships and Appeal teams to help plan and deliver inspiring communications that support our fundraising strategy. From pitching proposals and event promotion to major appeal campaigns, you’ll help build strong relationships with major donors and partners. You’ll also make sure high value fundraising activity is joined up with our wider communications and campaigns to grow fundraising revenue, support our community and improve outcomes for all men affected by and at risk of prostate cancer.

Please note this role is known internally as Communications Business Partner (High Value Fundraising).

What will I be doing?

• To be fully accountable for the delivery of a range of complex projects, collaborating across teams and ensuring appropriate governance with stakeholders.

• Coordinate and draft papers and reports for Cancer Grand Challenges leadership and other governance groups.

• Lead on development, delivery and reporting against the Cancer Grand Challenges annual operational plan, business plan and risk register.

• Own the management of contracts between CRUK and NCI which provide the framework for the CGC initiative.

• Work closely with Cancer Grand Challenges leadership and colleagues across CRUK (e.g. Legal, Finance and Strategic Partnerships) to support all contractual negotiations with future funding partners.

What are you looking for?

• An experienced project leader (demonstrated through experience or APM, Prince 2, Agile qualification) with a proven track record of leading, collaborating on and delivering complex, multi-stakeholder projects successfully on time and within budget across a complex organisation.

• Experience or familiarity with transformation programmes and projects and associated tools.

• Experience in business process design and implementation.

• Demonstrable evidence of interpreting & manipulating data clearly and accurately with the ability to quickly extract & articulate key points.

• Experience facilitating project or portfolio boards and steering groups at a senior management level.

• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage cross-functional teams.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proven evidenced ability to form strong, positive collaborative relationships at all levels of seniority.

• Experience in driving continuous improvement and developing forward looking plans and priorities for the team and adapting priorities as necessary whilst taking a pragmatic approach where appropriate.

• Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
