We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and experienced Supporter Engagement Manager to join our dedicated income generation team on a 12-month, fixed-term contract.

The Supporter Engagement Manager will lead the acquisition, retention and development of individual donors through our multi-channel campaigns, ensuring growth in our donor base and engagement with our supporters. You will use data insights to optimise fundraising strategies and enhance the supporter experience.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of two years’ experience in direct marketing and individual giving, with strong copywriting, budgeting and project management skills, and proficiency in CRM systems and data analytics. They will have a good working knowledge of GDPR and IoF Codes of Practice.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning, managing and executing the delivery of the Supporter Engagement Programme, including supporter acquisition, retention and uplift through all on- and offline direct marketing channels
• Leading fundraising initiatives such as seasonal appeals, matched funding and legacy giving
• Maintaining all supporter records on the database

This is flexible working position, with at least two days per week spent in our London office.

Project Background

Come and join our award-winning place-based volunteering programme that works with residents living across Hackney and the City of London.

You will be based out in the community - the programme is based at GP practices - to engage, support and enable local residents and patients to deliver local services for themselves, to meet local needs. We support residents to come together, to share their skills and experience for the benefit of each other, to deliver local groups and activities such as a book group, film club, exercise classes or cooking group. Residents from diverse backgrounds and demographics attend these activities together and make new connections, building strong local communities, all working together to make their area a better place to live. People, many of whom are isolated across all ages, and who have difficult life circumstances, are brought together, providing each other with mutual support and encouragement to develop new skills and pursue life goals, and to feel better able to voice their concerns to services.

You will be joining a nationally recognised project - having won an award from the Royal Society of Public Health in November 2024 - to support residents to fulfil their personal goals, make connections with others, and design activities and services that meet local needs. You will also be supporting people to improve their mental and physical health through signposting them to appropriate services and encouraging them to talk to their GP if they have concerns; and will be working in partnership with GP practice staff to co-create volunteer roles to make the practice more efficient and a better place to visit.

Overall purpose of the role

The Senior Communications Manager is responsible for delivering exceptional communications to enhance Orbis UK's profile in both the UK and the Middle East. The position is responsible for implementing strategic plans for UK and Middle East audiences, while supporting the Media and PR Manager in boosting Orbis UK's brand presence. The role also includes leading reputation and crisis management responses and plans.

The Media and PR Manager reports directly to this position, and together, they will collaborate to deliver effective communications plans. There will also be opportunities to work with the wider Orbis UK communications team on cross-departmental campaigns, appeals, and events, including VIP visits and integrated marketing campaigns.

This role encompasses communications planning, media relations, stakeholder management, reputation management, copywriting, and at times, event coordination. It requires strong relationship-building skills and the ability to manage projects across different teams and countries. The role is responsible for three key areas of work:

i) Overseeing the delivery of the media and PR strategy to increase brand awareness of Orbis within the UK and the Middle East through pitching and placement of high-quality media coverage, proactive PR initiatives and reactive press office opportunities within a range of publications that align with our target audiences and partnerships. This will include managing the Media and PR Manager, working with key stakeholders such as the Royal Press Office and key funding and programme partners, and supporting delivery of Orbis UK integrated marketing campaigns

About the role

As our Temporary Finance Manager, you will be managing a finance assistant and will be part of our organisation’s Senior Leadership Team, helping to collaboratively shape and steer the charity as we work towards our 2022 - 2027 strategy. Job Purpose

As our Finance Manager, reporting to the Director of Finance and working closely with the Senior Leadership Team and colleagues across the organisation, you will be a key person ensuring that our financial data is complete and accurate, overseeing reporting to our programme funders and our international network, and ensuring best practice in all aspects of financial management. Key responsibilities

Ensure the integrity of financial data and controls, including budgeting, forecasting, Treasury and cash flow management

· Prepare data ready for monthly accounts, reports, and financial statements. This will include the normal monthly journals, reconciliations, and checks

· Support financial planning, risk management, and decision-making

· Liaise as necessary with colleagues in Habitat for Humanity’s international network for reporting and efficient transmission of funds to overseas affiliates

· Manage payroll, tax returns, and financial reporting for funders

· Provide leadership to finance team members and develop financial policies

· Ensuring VAT records are accurate and returns made on time

· Manage income processing team

· Working with fund-raising teams to ensure all income is appropriately coded and documented

· Importing grants and donations from the CRM system (Raiser’s Edge) to the accounting system and reconciling to bank

· Regular reconciliations between the accounting and CRM systems

· Coding, processing and reconciling other income

· Assisting with Gift Aid claims

· Administering weekly payment runs and coordinating on-time authorisations

· Processing international transfers

· Currency and treasury management

General queries

· Dealing politely and efficiently with questions from inside and outside the organisation

· Assisting Director of Finance and other relevant staff with finance-related questions

What we’re looking for

 · A qualified or part-qualified finance professional with at least 3 years’ experience in charity finance, including fund accounting

· Skills in financial control, compliance, management, and reporting

· Knowledge of accounting software (Sage50 and Sun ideally) and downstream spreadsheet and similar tools; a willingness to learn new ways of handling data

· Good summarising and communication skills with the ability to influence colleagues and senior leaders

Partnership Experience Manager (Maternity Cover)

Salary: £38,814 - £44,581 pro-rata (depending on experience and FTE)

Contract: 12 months fixed-term contract (Maternity Cover- might be potentially extended)

Location: This is currently a blended-working role with two in-office days (Tuesday-Thursday) during term time and the flexibility to work from home during school holidays. Occasional travel to schools and events will be required.

About the role

You will play a key role in driving the continuous improvement and growth of our national partnership through deepening the quality and impact of our local collaboration hubs. You will also oversee the day-to-day running of hubs of our schools and trusts, which includes holding responsibility for the operations of the Partnerships Team and working closely with the Partnership Lead to ensure that all hubs, schools and trusts have an excellent experience with Challenge Partners. 

You will also oversee the implementation of the organisation’s Account Management strategy, working closely with members of the Leadership Team  to implement our strategy for effective partnership experience (our term for account management and customer service) for our partner schools and trusts. This includes holding some key strategic relationships, representing the organisation at external meetings and overseeing partner experience operations.

Key Responsibilities

The Partnership Experience Manager will have the following key areas of responsibility and will be expected to undertake other responsibilities commensurate with the role as requested:

Strategic Leadership and Management  - Hub Quality and Impact

• Develop and lead our strategy to improve the quality and impact of Challenge Partners’ Hubs, continuing to develop high performing hubs and supporting rapid improvement in new and emerging hubs

• Deliver, grow and evaluate the impact of our hub-led programmes: Middle Leaders’ Quality Assurance Review and Leadership Residency Programme

• Oversee the continuous improvement of national Knowledge Exchange and Areas of Excellence

• Lead a Hub Quality and Impact team, including all central team hub owners and executive hub links, through providing clarity on the Hub Quality and Impact strategy and operations.

Strategic Leadership and Management - Partnership Experience and Communications

• Develop and lead the implementation of our Account Management strategy ensuring that accounts are given the attention needed to ensure a smooth experience and high satisfaction rates

• Oversee Customer Care processes across the organisation, guaranteeing that any issues are resolved in a professional and timely manner 

• Oversee whole partnership communications, including half termly partnership newsletters

• Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships (Senior Partners, Hub Managers, trust CEOs) with your allocated key accounts to ensure that regular dialogue with them informs the strategy and continuous improvement in our support of hub quality and partner experience

• Act as an ambassador for Challenge Partners, representing the organisation externally where required

• Lead an Account Management approach through providing clarity on the account management strategy and operations.

Oversight of partner experience and hub management operations 

• Line management of the Partnership Lead and one or two Partnership Co-ordinators

• Team leadership of the Hub Quality and Impact and Account Management teams, delegating tasks appropriately 

• Work closely with the Partnership Lead to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of all hubs 

• Act as a point of escalation for any issues across hubs

• Identify hubs at risk, and lead on creating sustainable solutions with team members

• Work closely with the Finance Team to facilitate our invoicing processes for each academic year 

• Oversee hub funding processes across all hubs, proactively considering any changes needed in line with Hub Quality work

• Oversee Pricing Governance processes

Role Summary:

The Operations Manager is responsible for the smooth, efficient, and compliant day-to-day operation of the business centre. This includes oversight of facilities management, health & safety, lettings, team leadership, and budget management. The role ensures the business centre is well-maintained, tenants are satisfied, and operational performance is continuously improved. Reporting to senior leadership, the Operations Manager contributes to strategic planning, drives efficiencies through systems and digital tools, and plays a vital role in sustaining high occupancy and tenant retention.

Role Responsibilities:

Centre Operations Management

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the business centre, ensuring all facilities are well-maintained, compliant, and running smoothly.
• Ensure the lettings process is well-managed and aligned with policies.
• Implement and monitor operational procedures to improve efficiency and service quality, including opportunities to digitise processes and services.
• Contribute to strategic operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Identify and resolve operational challenges in collaboration with senior management.
• Report regularly on KPIs, occupancy, operational issues, and budget status to senior management.

Building Maintenance

• Oversee the upkeep and preventative maintenance of the property, ensuring high facility standards.
• Manage and coordinate external contractors and service providers (e.g., cleaners, engineers).
• Monitor maintenance budgets and project timelines, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct regular building inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Drive sustainability initiatives, including energy efficiency and waste reduction.

Health & Safety

• Ensure compliance with UK health & safety regulations, including risk assessments and fire safety.

• Maintain accurate H&S records, incident reports, and lead periodic audits.
• Support development and execution of emergency response and business continuity plans.

Lettings and Lease Management

• Oversee the Assistant Lettings Manager and monitor the development and execution of the lettings process from enquiry to move-in, including viewings, negotiations, and onboarding and offboarding of tenants.
• Check we are maintaining up-to-date tenancy records,
• Draft lease documentation and ensure timely renewals and support the rollout of any rent reviews.
• Carry out twice-yearly audits of lease documentation.
• Maintain relationships with tenants to support retention and satisfaction.
• Monitor lease management by team, lease compliance and resolution of any lease-related issues.

Customer Service

• Act as a point of contact for tenants, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and professionally.
• Foster strong relationships with tenants, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and retention.
• Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and implement strategies to attract new tenants and retain existing tenants with the goal of maintaining high occupancy levels.

Financial Management

• Manage the operational budget, ensuring cost-effective management of resources and that projects are delivered within budget.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and service providers to secure cost-effective deals.
• Ensure tenant arrears are regularly monitored and managed.

Line Management

• Lead, mentor, and manage the lettings and maintenance teams, ensuring high performance and productivity.
• Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
• Handle recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding of staff members as needed.

Essential Skills / Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business Management, Project Management, or other relevant fields.
• At least 2 years’ experience in operations work.
