We're looking for an inspirational people person to join us as a Assistant Shop Manager in our Faversham shop. This is an exciting opportunity, and we'd like you to join us to help raise vital funds for homeless and badly housed people.

You will work closely with the Shop Manager to ensure the shop looks welcoming, visually appealing and the team of volunteers are motivated and keen to engage with customers and maximise sales.

About the role

You will assist the Shop Manager in the recruitment, support and development of a strong community focused shop team and empower them to maximise Shelter's income. Representing Shelter in your local community, ensuring that you and your team share your knowledge of Shelter's cause with customers, volunteers, donors and potential Shelter clients will also be important aspects of the role. You will always ensure a safe, clean, bright and happy environment for your team to work in and for your customers to shop in, in turn attracting potential donors and volunteers.

Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager

We are seeking a dynamic, strategic and relationship-driven Philanthropy and Partnerships Manager to lead on growing and stewarding First Give’s portfolio of high-value funders. This role will focus on securing income from High Net Worth Individuals and developing corporate partnerships – from first engagement to account management and delivery.

About the Role

We are looking for a resourceful, energetic and outgoing individual who can deal effectively with challenging situations and behaviour, motivate young people to manage risk and support a team of professional staff.

Key aspects of the job will be: 

· To safeguard young people through sound management strategies, collaborative working with external agencies and emergency services and compliance with local authority safeguarding procedures.

The Woodland and Nature Recovery Manager at Western Forest will manage the delivery of high-quality forestry, woodland and nature recovery activities within the Western Forest. This role ensures that all initiatives are aligned with the Local Nature Recovery Strategies (LNRS) and focuses on woodland creation, agroforestry and sustainable forest management. The manager will oversee a team of five officers, based primarily within partnership organisations, and work closely with England’s Community Forests and many other partners to maximise impact.

This role will enable the sharing of expertise across the Western Forest area.

A key focus will be to work with partners across the region to seek out opportunities to create large scale woodland creation projects that will deliver at landscape scale. These new projects will seek alternative funding streams that will generate a variety of activities such as tree planting, timber production and biodiversity protection.

The role

The Finance and Operations Manager will oversee the charity’s back-office functions, ensuring that the charity meets the highest standards of governance and management and that the charity’s philanthropy services are delivered efficiently and effectively.

The key responsibilities of the role are:

• Providing the accounting and financial management function for the charity.
• Overseeing the management of the charity’s portfolio of investments, including expanding the range of investment options for our DAFs.
• Managing the human resource function.
• Managing the governance function for the charity and supporting the Board of Trustees to govern the charity effectively.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work on World Cancer Research Fund International’s Global Cancer Update Programme (CUP Global). CUP Global (previously known as CUP) is a unique, long-standing, and rigorous research programme that systematically gathers, analyses, and judges the strength of the global evidence on how diet, nutrition, physical activity and body weight affect cancer risk and survival. This work led to the publication of the authoritative Third Expert Report in 2018, which now needs updating in places to remain relevant and impactful. 

As Senior Research Interpretation Officer, you will be a valuable member of the Research Interpretation team and the CUP Global scientific Secretariat. Your core work will be supporting the management of CUP Global on a day-to-day basis to help deliver its main objective of updating the Third Expert Report. You will provide scientific input, administrative support, and help coordinate specific work areas of CUP Global.

We are looking to recruit someone who has a Masters degree in public health sciences, particularly nutrition and/or cancer research, and with a good understanding of epidemiological concepts. We are seeking someone with experience of writing scientifically, copywriting, editing and proofreading, with good attention to detail and with experience of reviewing and interpreting scientific research/literature. Job Purpose:

The Royal School of Needlework (RSN) is the International Centre of Excellence for the Art of Hand Embroidery. Based at the historic Hampton Court Palace, we have been dedicated to preserving and innovating in the art of hand embroidery since 1872. Our thriving education programme offers courses for all levels, from beginners to degree level, and we teach onsite and online in locations across the UK, and internationally in America, Japan, and Australia. Position Summary:

The Philanthropy Manager will have a strategic role in increasing funding for RSN’s mission, educational programmes and Fragile Threads programme, individual giving, legacy giving and stewarding events.

We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated fundraiser, who is a pro-active and results-driven individual. You will be a relationship-focused fundraiser with experience of face-to-face fundraising, excited by the opportunity to play a key part in the transformation of the RSN. You will have experience in major gifts fundraising, with the ability to deliver compelling pitches and proposals for five and six-figure gifts.
