Job Title: Trust Fundraising Manager

Contract: Permanent, Full-time (35 hours per week)

Location: Anywhere in the UK, we are a remote-first organisation

Our mission is to tirelessly support and champion how parents can participate in education and have their voices heard.  We want to be a powerful force for good in education in the UK that strives to bring homes and schools together for the good of all children and society.  We have ambitious plans to increase our impact and are establishing a central fundraising strategy for the first time.  Therefore, we are looking for an experienced trust fundraiser to play a key role in delivering organisational growth. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our fledgling Fundraising Team and develop a trust fundraising programme from the ground up.  We are looking for someone with experience in raising funds from trusts and foundations, who is an excellent communicator - spoken and written – and who can undertake research to effectively identify appropriate prospects.  You will help to develop our case for support and develop a suite of proposals and reports that will convey to funders what Parentkind does, what the parents and schools we work with want, and how we support them.  Attention to detail is key, as is the ability to manage your time and prioritise your work.

You’ll have

• A minimum of two years of experience in trust fundraising
• Demonstrable success in securing four and five-figure gifts
• Experience in managing funder relationships, and developing them into longer-term partnerships
• Strong research skills to help identify suitable prospects whose mission aligns with Parentkind
• Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders at all levels
• Excellent communication skills - strong attention to detail and the ability to produce high-quality written applications, and proposals and deliver impactful presentations

Stepping Stones exists to improve the lives of adults with learning disabilities. We are seeking an enthusiastic and agile manager who will be at the heart of the organisation and will lead a small team of qualified tutors and volunteers in continuing to provide high quality experiences for the people who attend. Stepping Stones is a community that loves to socialise and learn new skills together. Our current programme includes art, dance, drama and music, together with digital skills and cooking.

This role is responsible for strategic development with the guidance of the Board of Trustees, income generation, and the management of all aspects of service delivery. It is our intention to appoint a new post of Activity Co-ordinator to support the Charity Manager as budgets allow. You will play an active part in designing this role so that it enhances our delivery and increases capacity within the organisation.

Our experience during the pandemic and consequently, has shown us that being together in real life is an essential element of our offer to the people who attend Stepping Stones and so this post requires a physical presence preferably 3 days per week during the period when classes are running (30 weeks per year).  We are open in our approach to recruitment and are keen to support the right candidate to flourish. You will build good working relationships with all stakeholders including the people who attend our classes, their network of support (including support workers, carers and family members), funders, partners and the local community. You will be a strong team leader, proactive problem solver, and confident making decisions for the good of the organisation. Whilst the role demands strategic thinking and planning, it also requires you to be visible and accessible. You will sometimes contribute to activities when time allows, for example, in pilot phases of new classes

ABOUT THE CHARITY
Stepping Stones is a thriving, longstanding and highly valued community organisation. We have delivered activities for over 30 years and our weekly classes are an important part of the lives of people who attend.

Our main delivery is a timetable of up to 14 weekly classes from our base in a multipurpose community centre. We also have activities off site including gardening at a local allotment and music and art classes at a day centre and residential home. Each week over 100 people benefit from our activities.

Location: Ideally based in Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex or Greater London (north) with the ability to travel within this region.

Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week) or open to part-time (22 hours per week)

We are flexible on hours of work and open to discussing part-time hours and other flexible working options - it is expected that for the first 12 months after the role begins, travel to properties based in the above listed regions will be required several times per week.  After this period of time, we are open to this role being home-based or hybrid working with occasional ongoing travel required. Your skills

You will have a strong track record in delivering Facilities Management and a focus on quality, performance, safety, welfare and management controls. We want to hire a ‘can-do’ and energetic leader who will build and sustain positive working relationships with key internal customers, while developing partnerships that will continue to evolve and effectively meet the needs of the charity and every service user we support.

Main Responsibilities:

· Conduct Health and Safety site audits to a schedule across Family Action’s Central region.

· Support responsible managers with risk assessments across Family Action’s Central region.

· Support and give advice to local management teams regarding their Health & Safety system, through regular meetings and tickets raised within the Facilities helpdesk.

· To work closely with the Head of Facilities to develop corporate services for Family Action’s Central region sites.

· Help develop the Facilities departments’ JWA (SLA) and ensure they are consistently applied and regional measurables are reported to the Head of Facilities.

· Assist local management teams with planning and undertaking repairs and refurbishment as well as the day-to-day maintenance of Family Action assets (properties and equipment) in conjunction with the relevant budget holders and landlords.

· Monitor and respond to tickets raised within the Facilities helpdesk system (SalesForce), as well as all relevant emails sent to the Facilities mailboxes.

· Collaborate with stakeholders and suppliers, including the engagement of new suppliers and nurturing of existing relationships through meetings and KPIs.

· Member of IWFM to at minimum at Affiliate level (or equivalent).

· Trained to IOSH Managing Safely Level.

· Good working knowledge of standards and legislation applicable to Facilities Management.

· Experience of delivering site relocation and mobilisation projects.

· A friendly, helpful, and welcoming manner as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.

· Experience of setting up new properties, developing systems, and manging projects.

· Experience with Office 365, One Drive, Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Sightsavers is looking for a Head of Institutional Funding - a vital role within our expanding institutional funding team to lead the development and implementation of a portfolio of work currently focused on West Africa and lead on the development of strategic partnerships with individual institutional donors

Salary: £58,000 - £65,000

We are looking for an experienced institutional funding expert to lead and manage a busy portfolio. This is a role in which the successful candidate will need to juggle multiple and complex projects. Key duties will include:

• Leading the development and implementation of a portfolio of work within the institutional funding team (IFT) currently focused on West Africa (17 Anglophone, Francophone and Lusophone countries), and lead on the development of strategic partnerships with individual institutional donors as prioritised.
• Providing direct line management and strategic support to a sub-team within IFT, that will support continued income growth and contract management, in line with the Institutional Funding strategy.
• Managing existing grant / contracts falling within the remit of this role and secure new income to the organisation.
• Supporting programme learning and capacity building of country office teams and partners and to deputise for the Director of Institutional Funding

This role is involved and multi-faceted with regular meetings across the organisation. This is a full-time role that may be worked from home for the majority of the time however some visits to our offices in Haywards Heath, West Sussex (RH16 3BW) will be required. On average this is likely to be twice per year. If you prefer to work from or are visiting our collaborative, modern office space, you will find it an easy 20-minute train journey from Brighton or 45 minutes from London. Programme travel to West Africa and other locations will also be necessary - we anticipate approximately three trips per year, usually of one week each.

Our Grants Officers hold responsibility for operational and administrative support to the fund management of a portfolio of grants on UK Aid Match. The role supports operational management of the fund with the development and maintenance of efficient operating and reporting procedures, as well as contract administration, budget support and logistics, and ensuring grants move efficiently and timely through the grant management cycle. Role holders also support the teams on aspects of managing project documentation and duty of care.

We are seeking to appoint someone on a 12-month fixed term contract as maternity cover, to join our Grants Team in delivering The Ideas Fund, an exciting programme which looks to connect communities with researchers in order to develop and try out ideas related to mental wellbeing. The Fund is delivered in four areas of the UK – Oldham, Hull, the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, and North West Northern Ireland, although this role can be remote, based anywhere in the UK.

The main responsibilities of this role are to:

• Work with the Head of Grants to deliver an innovative programme that constantly evolves based on what we learn.
• Deliver excellent grant-making using relational, flexible and participatory approaches.

Job Purpose and Key Responsibilities

The Head of Programme Management leads a large team to oversee all of CIUK’s active humanitarian and development projects funded by UK donors. The team leads CIUK’s relationships with Country Offices and Regions and develops close partnerships to help us achieve long-term and effective programming across the humanitarian and development arena. The team also builds strong relationships with institutional donors and works with the Business with CARE team to deliver corporate-funded programmes. The Head of Programme Management is responsible for ensuring strong grant management and donor compliance including programme financial management. The team ensures that CARE provides and is recognised by donors for offering excellent value for money and real impact for its programme participants. The team also leads CIUK’s approach to delivering smart development and humanitarian programmes with an increasing focus on equitable partnership approaches.

The role-holder also has a crucial role to play in identifying learning from our programmes, including from our new ways of working that promote greater local leadership, and sharing these across CARE and the sector.

About you

You will have excellent understanding of CIUK’s main donor, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), with deep knowledge of how the FCDO operates, how they are structured and contract programmes, as well as their current priorities. You will have the ability to build strong relationships and have demonstrated ability to negotiate complex contracts with donors and influence donor positions. You will have a strong programme management and risk management background that allows you to understand and work across multiple projects and contexts, and manage risk at the portfolio level, dealing effectively with new risks and issues as they emerge.

As a leader of a large team, you will have strong people leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate strategy into action, motivate colleagues and demonstrate to team members how their role links to organisational strategy and objectives.  You will need to have experience of working in donor-funded organisations, understand cost recovery models, and have experience working to deliver large-scale programming in development and/or humanitarian contexts.  A good understanding of the current debates in the sector on local leadership and a commitment to the principles set out in the pledge for change are essential.

The role covers five main areas of responsibility:

• Representation and relationship management: holding relationships with a set of senior stakeholders including FCDO Senior Responsible Owners, other donor counterparts, CARE Country Directors, Programme Directors and Regional Directors. Negotiating contract terms with donors and troubleshooting delivery issues with country offices. Position CARE’s work to external stakeholders, including personally representing CIUK in external fora.
• Organisational and team leadership, strategy and planning: Set and drive the programme management team’s annual plans and contribution to the organisation’s strategic priorities and annual plan. • Programme quality, monitoring evaluation and learning : Ensure that CIUK closely monitors project implementation, relevance of programme outputs and outcomes and ensures programmes meet relevant technical standards and up to date best practice. Programmes fulfil requirements on programme quality and adhere to do no harm standards, the Core Humanitarian Standard, and ensure that CARE’s safeguarding standards are met throughout the life of the programme. Key responsibilities

The successful candidate will have experience of setting up and maintaining effective processes to monitor projects/programmes deliver funder requirements and agreed objectives, and experience of programme monitoring and evaluation. You will have experience of working with funders to support the development of their funding strategy and programmes, building successful bids for project/programme funding, and assessing and applying for government funding, contract and tenders at national and local level.

You will have the ability to build strong working relationships with peers, managers, members, partners and funders, with strong analytical, decision-making and organisational skills.
