Location: Home based with frequent travel to projects in Hucknall, Broxtowe-Aspley, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Mansfield and soon to be opening in Leicester in 2024.
As Regional Manager you will represent, manage and co-ordinate FoodCycle meals for your allocated regional Projects. Our Projects are spaces where volunteers are empowered to run their own community meals using surplus food. You will manage local relationships with venues, community partners, supermarkets and volunteer recruitment channels to enable this to happen. You will continually be looking to increase our impact by working towards targets of increased meals served to our guests, expanding our existing Projects and setting up new ones within East Midlands.
An excellent communicator, you will manage the volunteers at each Project ensuring they are trained, supported and on-message with FoodCycle strategy. You will have experience of recruiting and managing volunteers, as well as programme development and delivery.
This role will require some attendance at our Community Meals projects, to support with delivery as necessary, which will include evening and weekend work. A full driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes is essential for this exciting role.
Benefits: We offer 26.5 working days (this includes 3.5 days for the Christmas close down) plus additional holiday for length of service, up to a maximum of 30 days (pro-rata for part-time). Our Legacy team is sector leading. You’ll have the opportunity to build British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) reputation as a good recipient of legacies and increase BHF’s income from bequests.
Over half of our income comes from people leaving a gift to us in their Will. Charitable legacies are therefore vital to enable us to continue our life-saving research programme to fight cardiovascular disease.

This is an exciting new post in the Communications Team at Glass Door. Key responsibilities:

As the Big Local programme enters its final stage, PSBL are seeking a driven and passionate community development officer to join our team and help realise the vision of the Plaistow South Big Local partnership and establish its legacy.
You will usually be based at our new office at Memorial Community Church, Barking Road, E13. You will work alongside the team, providing support across a diverse range of projects. There won’t be many typical days, but your role will include delivering community events and outreach to help residents find their voice, take ownership and reach their potential, alongside general administration task and content creation for our social media platforms and promotional materials.

We are looking for a skilled policy and public affairs professional to join the St Mungo’s Policy and Research team. At a time when rough sleeping is high on the political agenda, we are looking for a dynamic individual who can make the most of the opportunity to raise St Mungo’s profile among decision makers and political stakeholders and influence policy that has an impact on the lives of people experiencing homelessness.
In the role of Policy and Public Affairs Officer you will contribute to the development of St Mungo’s public affairs and policy plans, ensuring that our clients are at the heart of all our influencing work to central and beyond.
You will coordinate public affairs work, creating opportunities to influence national and local government policy; helping achieve our organisational goal to rebuild lives and end rough sleeping for good. Other key responsibilities will include:
- Organising public affairs activities that support the organisation’s overall policy influencing objectives.
- Working closely with other teams to ensure public affairs activity is timely, consistent and, where appropriate, joined up with other external communications.
- Maintain a database of up to date policy positions, developed in partnership with the Policy and Research teams and frontline staff, and support with the development of policy positions.
- You will help design and implement robust and thorough public affairs plans, coordinate a programme of visits and meetings with key stakeholders across Westminster and Whitehall and proactively spot new engagement opportunities will be crucial to this role.
About you
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, who will be motivated to build positive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and the ability to effectively represent the organisation. We encourage you to apply if you can demonstrate:

In this role you will be required to work at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. This allows for training team building, line management and other relationship building opportunities. Job Title: Fundraising Officer
Location: Central London
Reports to: Head of Branch Operations
Salary: £26,500 pro rata (4 days per week)
Background:
Central London Samaritans (CLS) is the largest of Samaritans’ 201 branches.
Based in the heart of Soho (*), 450 volunteers deliver the Samaritans service round the clock, every day of the year providing support for anyone struggling to cope. Our core objective is to deliver services that support the Samaritans vision that fewer people will die by suicide. Assisted by a small staff team, volunteers manage over 100,000 contacts a year of which, pre-pandemic, 4,500 were face to face visits.
As well as delivering services in our Marshall Street centre, we also work in the community across seven London boroughs. From providing emotional support for London’s homeless, to running peer-to-peer listener programmes at Brixton prison, and delivering talks and workshops to schools and workplaces, we pride ourselves on the support we give to our community. Our volunteers also offer emotional support following any form of crisis affecting Londoners, such as the London Bridge attacks and the Grenfell Tower fire.
Role description:
Responsible for ensuring the delivery of the community events fundraising plans and activities. You will be managing a select number of events, along with engaging with the community and businesses to develop and implement plans for maximising income and support from individuals, groups and businesses.
Main responsibilities:
- Manage branch Community and Events, taking a lead for specific awareness events and fundraising events or activities.
- Organise events, including liaison with venues, suppliers, monitoring expenditure, volunteers and participants and ensure all preparation is complete.
- Ensure an excellent level of supporter care and stewardship with supporters is maintained and developed.
- Provide regular reports and information about activities, supporters and volunteers.
- Previous experience working in fundraising in either a community, challenge or mass participant event capacity.
· Manage our external communications, including our website, Mailchimp newsletters and Twitter account.

Experience and Skillset:
- Experience of establishing and maintaining strong relationships with individual fundraisers/supporters and/or, managing fundraising events.

- Experience of working with and supporting volunteers.
- Knowledge of fundraising regulations.
· Knowledge of and ability to develop and coordinate online giving donation platforms.
· Ability to work independently, and as part of a small team – including with volunteer stakeholders – when required
Hours of work and Location:
The basic hours are 28 hours per week spread over four working days. Within these hours there may be need to work some evenings and weekend days depending on when events happen, so flexibility is essential. The core responsibilities should be carried out during weekdays.
The amount of out of hours work will be agreed on an ongoing basis.
Time off in lieu will be allowed in agreement with the Head of Branch Operations and in line with the staff handbook and the European Working Time Directive.
(*) - At present, the branch office is located in Soho but Central London Samaritans, as an organization, will be moving location to a new site in Marylebone in early 2025. We are disclosing this now as the successful candidate would be expected to move with us when the branch office is rebased, so please do take note of this.
Limitations:
The post holder will be required to work within the rules and regulations of Samaritans and accept the authority of the Director and the Chair of the branch’s Board of Trustees, who have discretion to delegate authority to the post holder and to withdraw it.
