Role Summary 

The Site Manager role involves overseeing a number of university Islamic Societies or Muslim Student Associations who are interested in partnering with Roots Academy to host the Essentials Onsite Program an in-person transformative educational class tailored to university students on campus. The Site Manager role is responsible for establishing and maintaining positive relationships with these ISoc/MSA committees and offering 1:1 support to ensure that they have an excellent educational experience.
 

Key tasks

• Actively establish and maintain positive relationships with ISoc/MSA committees and Student Ambassadors (ISoc/MSA representative) to ensure an exceptional onsite experience for students, and promote retention of sites.
   
• Be the point of contact for ISocs/MSAs: answer questions, offer light-touch support and coaching on ways to improve the class, engage on a 1:1 basis listening to their needs and concerns, and addressing these accordingly.
   
• Liaise with Student Ambassadors to ensure that logistics involved in marketing and running the class are taken care of by the ISoc/MSA.
   
• Collect ideas and best-practices from how different campuses deliver their class
   
• Be the internal point of contact for any queries or updates related to ISocs/MSAs assigned.

We are supported by an incredible team of prison volunteers who are the link between the charity and the stitchers we work with in prison. Our prison volunteers work in small teams to teach our stitchers’ embroidery and needlepoint, organise their group sessions, and liaise with the prison and FCW office.

• Teach people in prison how to stitch and support the completion of our premade kits in our cell groups, which consist of around 10-15 stitchers.
• Communicate with staff at our hub in Battersea to receive kits and supplies for your group and send back completed work for your stitchers to be paid.
• Encourage and help stitchers to complete our Open College Network certifications in creative needlework.
• Develop stitchers’ skills and confidence by encouraging them to take responsibility as peer mentors.
• Act as an ambassador for the charity and sharing our vision and values throughout your volunteering.

Role Overview

As a Production Assistant, you will support the Video Production Manager and team in all stages of video production, focusing primarily on the pre and production phase. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our video projects are well-planned and executed smoothly. You will be involved in tasks ranging from script writing to stage setting, ensuring that all necessary preparations are in place for successful video production.
 

Main Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the Video Production Manager to develop and refine scripts for various video projects, conducting research to gather relevant information and insights to inform script content and invite guests when necessary.

• Assist in planning and setting up stages for video shoots, including arranging props, lighting, and other necessary equipment, and coordinate with the production team to ensure all stage elements are in place.

• Work with the Video Production Manager to create detailed production schedules and timelines, and coordinate with cast, crew, and other stakeholders to ensure everyone is informed of shoot dates and times.

• Assist in identifying and securing suitable locations for video shoots, conducting site visits to assess the suitability of locations and addressing any logistical considerations.

Our Tribunal Mentors give around 1-2 hours a week of their time to offer peer support to their mentees for 12 weeks.  They offer a listening ear through regular calls, and kind, empathetic support to help build the confidence to face an Employment Tribunal claim. About the role

Reporting To: Head of Support Services

Time Commitment

We ask that all new Tribunal Mentors can commit to at least six months of volunteering for approximately one hour a week.

Mentoring matches offer 12 weeks of support, this is usually through weekly one-hour calls. However there is some flexibility available depending on both the mentee and mentors needs.

Main Role Purpose

To offer Tribunal Mentees peer support and regular check-ins for 12 weeks. Mentors should be comfortable discussing their own experience of the Employment Tribunal process and offering emotional support to their mentee as they navigate the system and their claim.

Essential requirements

• Experience of filing an Employment Tribunal claim.

Key Responsibilities

• Communicate with your mentees regularly for around 12 weeks. This is usually done through a weekly one-hour call.
• Listen actively, empathise, and provide guidance and support for mentees.
• Signpost to further information and other support organisations if necessary.
• Connect with and support other Mentors on the programme, usually through our Volunteer WhatsApp group.
• Record all mentoring calls on our CRM system.
• Maintain professionalism in all interactions, adhering to all Pregnant Then Screwed guidelines and policies.

Purpose:

Are you passionate about supporting and managing volunteers in a small charity? Our Volunteer Coordinators will recruit, support & develop a team of volunteers, to enhance our work supporting people impacted by a chronic pain condition

What will you be doing?

We are looking for 1 volunteer coordinator to join the coordinators team who will volunteer to support our volunteers in various roles. The volunteer coordinators will 

• Help to recruit, and assure the adequate training of suitable, reliable volunteers
• Co-ordinate the volunteers to ensure that there is always someone available to support all our services 
• Help to create and distribute information regarding volunteer policies and procedures
• Monitor volunteers during their appointments to retain or replace candidates
• Meet with volunteers to assess their progress and satisfaction, as well as to conduct evaluations or skills audits
• Help to assess organisational and programme needs to determine number and range of volunteers needed for particular projects
• Induction of new volunteers
• Maintain regular communication among volunteers and between an organisation and its volunteers, in order to share news, progress, and available positions
• Maintains a database of volunteers and projects and track metrics
• Help to promote the charity and its volunteer accomplishments 
• Set up and arrange any relevant training required for volunteers

What are we looking for?

The Volunteer Co-ordinators role requires proactive and detail orientated individuals with an organised approach and an interest in supporting small charities. They will have good communication skills. The Volunteer Co-ordinators are responsible for the volunteer aspects of Burning Nights CRPS Support to ensure the smooth running of the charity’s services and ensuring that the volunteers are used optimally.

Our Volunteer Co-ordinators are also responsible for ensuring that suitable volunteers have DBS checks where needed and they are adequately trained to do their role working with our Charity Administrator.
