About the role
We are seeking a self-motivated and detail-oriented Prospect Research Volunteer to support our fundraising efforts by identifying and evaluating funding opportunities from trusts, foundations, and grant-making bodies. This role is vital to helping us grow our income and deliver impactful conservation projects.
Note - In line with GDPR best practice, volunteers who we offer the opportunity to, will be asked to provide details of two suitable referees. Please ensure you have known referees for more than 6 months and they are not a partner, close relative, or Plantlife employee. Former or current work colleagues, friends, and neighbours that have known you for more than 6 months are some examples that would be fine.

Time commitment: We would like a volunteer who could spend a minimum of 3 hours per week on their volunteering. This can be done flexibly around other commitments and outside of the usual 9-5 hours.
Expenses: Travel is not expected for this role, however expenses will be reimbursed for any travel we ask you to do based on public transport cost or mileage at Plantlife standard rates for volunteers. Expenses must be agreed in advance with your volunteer manager.

About the Study
We're conducting an 8-week research project to understand how targeted acts of kindness affect both givers and receivers. Our research aims to gather evidence on how personalised kindness activities might improve mental wellbeing, reduce feelings of loneliness, and enhance life satisfaction.
What's Involved
- Complete an initial onboarding survey about your personality traits, preferences, and wellbeing
- Participate in our 8-week programme
- Receive personalised suggestions for simple acts of kindness
- Track your experiences and feelings
- Complete brief weekly check-ins
- Share your feedback through a final survey
- Participate in follow-up assessments at 3, 6, and 12 months to help us understand long-term effects
Time Commitment
- 8 weeks for the main study period
- Approximately 10-15 minutes per day during active participation
- Weekly check-ins (about 5-10 minutes each)
- Brief follow-up surveys at 3, 6, and 12 months post-study (about 15 minutes each)

Fundraising and Communications Internship
Concordis International seeks internship candidates to become actively involved in fundraising and communications for their programmes, providing meaningful assistance to the organisation’s operations. The internships are designed to give you concrete experience in communications and fundraising within the international development sector. The role is varied and will require you to work with our small UK team and with other interns who are based around the world.

Role Description
You will work closely with the Fundraising and Communications Manager as an integral part of the F&C Team, and be involved in all the projects we cover. Your internship with Concordis will give you experience in both fundraising and communications and you won't just watch it happen; you'll be doing the work as part of the team, with opportunities to make a valuable contribution. You’ll have exposure to planning, designing, writing and working to tight deadlines. And the more you put in, the more you will get out.
We are particularly seeking interns with great creative energy and graphic design skills. If that's you, please get in touch. You’ll need really fluent English too; it’s an advantage if it is your mother tongue.
Communications role
You will become one of our storytellers. You will learn about our programmes, their activities, history and conflict analysis, so you can produce communications materials for social media, our website, newsletters, events and other outlets. This will mean you:

Brief, resource and support the F&C Manager

Edit and design publications such as reports, news articles and other awareness-raising materials

Respond to requests for communications support from the wider team

Fundraising role
You will work closely with the F&C Manager to support activities as required.

Other tasks
Interns monitor international and regional institutions and grant-making organisations for funding opportunities. They are also expected to take their turn in tasks such as taking notes during meetings and monitoring the security of teams on the road.
Interns serve on a voluntary basis; there is no salary or stipend, but Concordis will reimburse reasonable expenses including a small daily lunch allowance.
Interns do not follow a formal training programme, but Concordis will seek to provide experience tailored to the skills, needs and aspirations of individual interns within the range of activities outlined above.

Educators and facilitators wanted to help East London Waterworks Park deliver its environmental learning goals.
East London Waterworks Park is a volunteer-led charity that has won a 2024 New London Architecture award and raised £2m towards buying land from the Department for Education to transform the 14-acre Thames Water Depot on Lea Bridge Road on the border of Waltham Forest and Hackney, into a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces.
We are looking for educator and facilitator volunteers to participate in our community-led working group, who are collaborating with schools, universities and youth groups that help the design of the park.
Examples of projects are:

- creating lesson plans to co-design the park.

We're looking for people to lead on these projects and facilitate the direction of the learning working group.
The Learning Circle currently meets monthly on a Wednesday evening at 8pm for an hour on Google Meet and spends voluntary time outside of the meeting completing agreed tasks remotely.
You should be an experienced teacher, educational consultant, forest school leader, training and development specialist, learning designer, facilitator or any other kind of role creating learning projects, programmes and experiences. Our roles are quite flexible. We hope that people bring radical imagination, peace with nature, and courageous inclusiveness to the role.
Your support will help young people and learners improve their environmental knowledge of design and research as well as contributing to our community-owned park. This will in turn provide a sense of stewardship over the land once the park is created and student's ideas have been built into the park.
Creating learning projects with educational institutions will also help our charity with the strategy to buy the land through showing the value of our environmental education programme before we create the park.
East London Waterworks Park is a charity campaigning to create a new biodiverse park with natural swimming ponds, forest schools and community spaces

Join us as the volunteer leader of the RSPB Exeter & District Local Group and lead a group of enthusiastic members who are passionate about supporting the RSPB and exploring local wildlife. The group runs a full programme of activities, from outdoor walks and indoor talks to fundraising events. As the group leader, you will primarily lead the group and oversee the programme. Role Overview
As the L&D Manager, you will lead the design and delivery of impactful learning programs that align with QuilomboUK’s mission and strategic goals. You’ll develop leadership curricula, create engaging instructional materials, oversee induction training, and continuously refine L&D initiatives based on feedback and data. This role is ideal for a creative, data-driven professional passionate about fostering inclusive leadership and equipping teams with the skills to advance social justice.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership Development & Training
- Design and implement leadership training curricula, workshops, and coaching programs that cultivate inclusive, equitable, and socially conscious leaders.
- Partner with senior leaders to identify skill gaps and align L&D strategies with organisational objectives.
- Facilitate dynamic workshops on topics like anti-bias leadership, conflict resolution, and change management.
Instructional Design & Content Development
- Create engaging, accessible learning materials, including e-learning modules, facilitator guides, videos, and assessments, using tools like Articulate 360 or Adobe Captivate.
- Embed D&I principles and social justice themes into all content, ensuring cultural relevance and representation.
- Develop microlearning resources and toolkits to support continuous, self-directed learning in a remote environment.
AI-Enhanced Instructional Design
- Using various platforms, create dynamic, AI-generated content (e.g., simulations, scenario-based learning), and adaptive e-learning modules.
- Build AI-driven assessments and feedback loops to measure knowledge retention and behavioural change.
Onboarding & Integration
- Lead the design and delivery of induction programs that immerse new hires in QuilomboUK’s mission, values, and D&I commitments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure onboarding content reflects role-specific and cultural integration needs.
- Monitor new hire feedback to refine onboarding experiences and reduce time-to-productivity.
Training Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
- Measure training effectiveness using KPIs such as engagement rates, knowledge retention, and behavioural change.
- Analyse feedback surveys, LMS data, and performance metrics to identify gaps and iterate on content.
- Stay ahead of L&D trends (e.g., gamification, AI-driven learning) to innovate QuilomboUK’s programs.
D&I Integration
- Ensure all learning initiatives prioritise equity, cultural competence, and trauma-informed approaches.
- Partner with ERG (Employee Resource Group) leaders to co-create programs that address systemic inequities.
- Advocate for accessible learning design, including accommodations for neurodiverse and disabled employees.
Qualifications
- Experience: 3+ years in L&D, instructional design, or leadership development, ideally within mission-driven or D&I-focused organisations, with hands-on experience using AI tools.
- Skills:
- Expertise in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Canva) and LMS platforms,.
- Strong facilitation and storytelling skills for remote and hybrid audiences.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI) to measure program impact.
- Proficiency in prompt engineering for generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) to create scalable content.
- Knowledge:
- Deep understanding of adult learning theories, inclusive pedagogy, and social justice frameworks.
- Familiarity with UK compliance standards related to workplace training.
- Understanding of ethical AI frameworks, algorithmic bias mitigation, and GDPR-compliant AI use in HR.
- Familiarity with AI and how it can amplify (or hinder) equitable learning outcomes.
- Alignment: Passionate about QuilomboUK’s mission and the role of L&D in driving equitable change.

The Professional Development Programme with Quilombo UK is a 16-week UNPAID opportunity that requires a minimum commitment of 12 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
