The role

We are looking for an entrepreneurial and ambitious Business Development Manager to lead our organisational efforts around income generation. Responsibilities

Maintain and grow a strong pipeline of funders and clients

• Overseeing the work of our Membership, Development and Partnership Officer in bringing together weekly information on publicly advertised funding opportunities, periodically testing new search words in line with our strategic and commercial interests.
• Ensuring we have access to relevant tendering frameworks.
• Maintaining a pipeline of charitable Trusts and Foundations.

Write and submit bids, and support others to

•  In some instances, leading on bid writing – drafting, costing and submitting high quality bids for both project and core funding.
• In other instances, buddying with staff members on bids – carrying out initial call with funders to check fit of projects, supporting with budget development, sharing previous relevant tender responses to support bid writing, supporting submission, leading on the social value response and more.

Support and co-ordinate fundraising efforts of the staff team

• Co-ordinating the triaging and prioritisation of funding bids within the team, in line with our strategic priorities.
• Matching project ideas from across the team with funding opportunities.
• Organising fundraising meetings and ensuring the organisational income generation tracker is up to date.
• Supporting members of the staff team to develop their business development and fundraising skills.
• ·Providing advice and support to the wider team on compliance with our organisational ethical fundraising policy, the ABPI code, the ABHI code and the Code of Fundraising Practice.

Maintain and develop relationships with prospective funders, clients and organisations we may wish to partner with on funded projects

Manage our partnership scheme

• Take lead responsibility for client management and renewals for organisations on our partnership scheme.
• Coordinate responses to partnership requests within our staff team. Co-ordinate, develop and oversee the delivery of  our partnership offer.

•   Line-manage staff, in the first instance our Membership, Development and Partnership Officer, to include appraisals,  setting objectives, monitoring performance and supporting development.

Our approach to hybrid working

We recognise the importance of coming together regularly, in-person, as a team, so we can share learnings and spend social time with each other. We also recognise that people need flexibility, and that homeworking enables focused work and can fit well in people’s lives.

We ask all staff to take part in pre-arranged team meetings which take place every six weeks in our office space. The successful candidate will be working with adults in a residential setting delivering assessments, group sessions and one-to-one therapy to those admitted to the service. The post-holder will offer an intensive, abstinent-based programme with high levels of group therapy and a strong emphasis on aftercare support. The role will include facilitating specialist psycho-educational groups, 12 step, relapse prevention therapeutic groups and individual counselling sessions.

You will work closely with our Supported Housing team and be required to participate in regular team meetings. You will also be required to liaise with external agencies and work creatively to provide the most appropriate treatment plans for clients with complex needs. You may be required to cover occasional evening Aftercare groups.

Main Responsibilities
•  Undertake assessments of people entering the service through various referral sources.
•  Develop, facilitate, and review a group work programme that meets the needs of our clients. These might include dual diagnosis, trauma, cross-addiction, criminal justice issues and various types of substance use.
•  Provide a holistic package of care to people which meets their needs and includes working with colleagues across other teams to help residents with diversionary activities, employment, training, and education.
•  Work with the Supported Housing team to ensure residents are safe, secure, and maintain their tenancies and are prepared to move onto independent living.
•  Provide a range of one-to-one interventions that might include MI, person-centered care, CBT, DBT and trauma work.
•  Manage a caseload of individuals with a wide spectrum of needs.
•  Assist residents to understand the effects and benefits of any medication prescribed for them and the importance of complying with treatment regimes. This might include liaising with pharmacists, doctors, and psychiatrists for monitoring purposes.
•  Provide psychoeducation to raise awareness and understanding of substances and their effects.
•  Provide onward referral and liaison with wrap-around support within SCT to enable our residents to achieve social integration and personal development.

Client Management
•Coordinate and carry out assessments of new residents and the referral and acceptance process, ensuring that each client has a programme appropriate to their needs.
•  Conduct joint 3 and 6-monthly reviews with Supported Housing team colleagues.
•Provide group and individual counselling as required by the service.

About the role

The P&C Administrative Assistant will be based in our London office (two days a week), sharing time between general HR administrative and general office support duties. The role will support the People & Culture function on general HR and administrative tasks.

Roles and Responsibilities

Human Resources

• Monitoring shared P&C inbox, addressing enquires in a timely manner.
• Collecting and maintaining various HR trackers and databases.
• Providing administrative support for the recruitment process, posting job adverts, contacting candidates, scheduling job interviews and collecting recruitment related documentation.
• Assisting in the new joiner induction and on-boarding processes.
• Updating and maintaining staff records.
• Ensuring data is stored in line with principles of GDPR.
• Completing pre-employment checks, including reference, right to work, and vetting checks.
• Supporting the probationary process for new joiners (including scheduling meeting, distributing relevant documentation and collecting completed forms and feedback.

• General Administration:
• As part of onboarding, facilitate the induction process for new joiners in the London office, including:
• Issuing access passes
• Coordinating with the TSS team on new joiner equipment
• Facilitate the DSE assessment process

The Policy Manager will play a vital role in managing specified areas of policy and influencing activity within the financial security workstream. With government having recently published a Green Paper with proposals to change the health and disability benefits system, and energy prices still high, now is a crucial time for people at the end of life and those around them.

You will be responsible for:
- Managing specified areas of Marie Curie's policy and influencing work, on issues related to the financial security of people at the end of life
- Analysing the policy landscape and developing evidence-based policy recommendations which are informed and where possible co-produced by people with lived experience
- Writing reports, briefings, consultation responses, blogs, and articles to translate research into accessible formats for a range of audiences
- Developing networks with policymakers, researchers, clinicians, practitioners, charities, and service providers on policy and research issues
- Participating in, or chairing, coalitions and presenting at speaking engagements as required

Main duties and responsibilities:

Fundraising

· Developing and innovating the school’s regular giving programme, the Merchant Taylors’ Fund, to ensure a consistent income stream and increased participation from alumni, parents and friends.

· In conjunction with external consultants, running our (currently) biennial telephone fundraising campaigns and Giving Days.

· Liaising with school departments, clubs and societies to identify exciting projects to motivate supporters.

· Segmenting and targeting recipients for appeals to ensure the greatest impact and returns.

· Devising the strategy for promoting legacy giving as a means of supporting Merchant Taylors’, and to implement this strategy to increase the number of known legacy pledges to the school.

 Stewardship

· Establishing and running a comprehensive benefactor stewardship programme that thanks and stewards donors at all levels, including legacy pledges, through regular communication and events.

Reporting

· Reporting on progress against all objectives to the Development and Alumni Relations Sub-Committee of Governors.

· Where appropriate, working with the Development Executive (Events and Communications), to produce benefactor report publications and contribute to other Development publications.

· Ensuring that all contact with OMTs and parents is recorded on the Development Office’s database, the Raiser’s Edge.
