Overview
At Young Roots, we want to see a compassionate and welcoming society for young refugees and asylum seekers in the UK. We work alongside young people seeking safety in the UK, building trusted relationships, providing practical and emotional support and promoting young people’s rights and power.
Our youth clubs and casework are transformative for young refugees, allowing young people who have fled danger, had traumatic journeys and who are often here alone, to find community and connection, have a space to be a young person and access support in addressing a whole range of practical challenges they face. We also draw on our evidence from working every day with young refugees and asylum seekers to call for change to the laws and policies which are harming young people.
The Youth Development Coordinator is responsible for the development and delivery of our youth development programme for young refugees and asylum seekers.
You will be focused on ensuring our programme activities achieve our outcomes, are in line with our strategy and identify areas for change and development under the direction of the Head of Services. An excellent communicator and skilled at working with partners, you will be key in the implementation and running all of our weekly youth activities, including a Youth Club and Advice and Support Hub working closely with the Youth Development Worker and having oversight of our weekly Young Women’s group.
As an experienced manager, you will lead our team of skilled youth workers, working alongside the Brent team to provide holistic support to young asylum seekers and refugees in Brent.
You will prioritise the participation of young people in all activities, ensuring excellent safeguarding by following our policy and protocols, and ensure that we collect excellent data for monitoring and evaluation and to aid our future planning. You will also assist with staff and volunteer recruitment and reporting to our funding partners.

The Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) Service Manager provides leadership for the outsourced service desk, IT supply and Site Service Engineering functions of the DDaT team and is the point of escalation for all Barnardo's colleagues accessing services, incident management and request fulfilment.
The DDaT Service Manager is responsible for the delivery of exceptional Site Service Engineering at over 1000 sites and responsible for the delivery of IT Supply services to over 7000 colleagues across the UK. The Service Manager also owns and operates the outsourced Service Desk via the current partner relationship, working in collaboration with internal technical teams. The Service Manager will report to the Director of Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) and is a member of the DDaT Leadership Team.
Continuous improvement of services, ownership of the service catalogue entries, effective self-help documentation and assets, are core activities of the role, alongside ensuring the delivery of excellent business as usual services, and ownership of key transformation initiatives. Fiscal management of delegated budgets, accurate forecasting are key success factors of the role.

Background
Refugee Action Kingston (RAK) is a well-established charity dedicated to supporting refugees and asylum seekers from anywhere in the world who find themselves in the Royal Borough of Kingston and neighbouring boroughs. Since its foundation in 1991, RAK has been the main provider of direct services to refugees and asylum seekers as well as promoting refugee rights.
RAK aims to support refugees through the process from their initial reception in the borough through to final integration into the local community in order to enable them to live a fulfilling life and become accepted and active participants in our local communities. We achieve this by accomplishing a variety of outcomes for refugee and asylum-seeking families through delivering a holistic service including advice, information, counselling, education, training, and assistance in access mainstream services and employment opportunities to help them rebuild their lives.
We are looking for a registered solicitor or someone qualified up to level 3, although we will also be happy to hear from people who are qualified up to IAA Level 2 Asylum. We are currently not in a position to support people to qualify for IAA Level 2, so please do not apply if you do not already have it.
Purpose of the Post
Refugee Action Kingston provides free and independent information and advice on a one-to-one basis to refugees and asylum seekers on immigration (Level 3), welfare benefits, education, training, employment, housing, access to health and social care. Where we cannot help we refer clients to solicitors and other specialist help.
The purpose of this job is to provide an effective and efficient face-to-face Immigration Advice to IAA leve l2 or 3, within the aims, policies and principles of Refugee Action Kingston. And to provide consultancy and advice to colleagues on Immigration and Asylum issues.
Duties and responsibilities:
Casework
- Provide face to face Immigration and Asylum advice and casework to IAA Level 2 or 3
- Act for the client where necessary by liaising with the Home Office, external agencies and other Immigration Advice providers in progression of a case.
- Negotiate and advocate on behalf of clients with third parties as appropriate, both verbally and in writing.
- Assist clients with other related problems where they are an integral part of their case and refer to other advisers or specialist agencies as appropriate
- Know and understand the limits of Level 3 IAA Advice and be prepared to refer or signpost onwards when work reaches these boundaries.
- Ensure that all casework conforms to RAK Advice Service office standards and policies.
- Maintain case records for the purpose of continuity of casework, information retrieval, statistical monitoring, and report preparation

Main purpose of the job

The role of the Executive Administrator is to manage an administrative workload. As the Operations Assistant you will be supporting the Operations Manager in delivering and maintaining effective operational function at the charity. Including but not exclusively, Health & Safety, Premises, Facilities, Vehicle Management, and IT Services.

Key Responsibilities
Operational Support
· Act as the first point of contact for premises, facilities, IT and Estates issues across all Weston Park Cancer Charity locations.
· Assist the Operations Manager in maintaining a secure and organised premises and facilities, which ensure colleagues, volunteers and visitors are safe and experience a welcoming environment.
· Support the Operations Manager in the successful delivery of the Annual Operations plan.
· Provide administrative support to the Operations Manager and take minutes in operations-related working groups.
· Support with updating operational policies and procedures.
· Act as a Charity Data Protection Officer (DPO), alongside the Operations Manager - following relevant training, to promote a strong GDPR culture.
· Assist in the coordination of charity vehicle fleet maintenance schedules and provide breakdown response support.
· Assist in the control and coordination of the use of charity space and assets, including liaising with contractors and Sheffield Teaching Hospitals (STH) on relevant matters as required.
· Act as a designated keyholder, responsible for the opening and closing procedure.
· Manage the operations shared email inbox.
Health & Safety
· Serve as the first point of contact for all Health & Safety matters, including incidents and accidents, ensuring accurate recording and reporting.
· Provide operational and administrative support on all Health & Safety matters at our sites and external locations (including external events and the Outreach Service, updating COSHH reports).
· Assist in the procurement, delivery and recording of mandatory staff training needs.
· Help establish and maintain safe working practices and policies and undertake basic risk assessments.
Workwear and equipment
· Act as the first point of contact for workwear and equipment requests; including being responsible for issuing and returning stock, regular stock checks and ordering stock as required.
Tech Support
· Serve as the first point of contact for general IT enquiries .
· Consult with IT consultants to ensure adherence to processes.
· Work with the Operations Manager to implement processes that maintain the IT security score.
· Assist in the onboarding and offboarding of employees, including software licenses, logins, and induction training.
· Serve as lead administrator for key operational software, such as Webex phone system and Vatix Lone Worker App.
General Administrative Support & Development
· Handle general enquiries from staff, patients, and volunteers efficiently.
· Manage charity postal enquiries.
· Assist the Operations Manager with the procurement of stationery and consumables.
· Assist the wider team with ad hoc work and undertake small projects that support the charity's work. e.g. Events, Logistical and Tech Support.
Environmental Advocate
· Work with the Operations Manager to promote environmental awareness and encourage the charity adopts a green approach (e.g., recycling, energy use, carbon footprint).
· Identify and implement actions to reduce environmental impacts, costs, and/or increase income under the direction of the Operations Manager.
