Role Purpose

The Junior Policy & Advocacy Officer will support the delivery of MCF’s policy, advocacy and research work. Working closely with the Head of Policy & Advocacy, they will contribute to policy monitoring, research projects, member engagement, and influencing activities across government, civil society, and the wider third-sector ecosystem.

This role is ideal for an early-career professional with strong analytical skills, a passion for social justice, and an interest in policy, research, and advocacy relating to the Muslim-led voluntary and community sector.

Key Responsibilities

1. Policy Monitoring and Research Support

• Track and summarise relevant UK policy, regulatory, parliamentary and sector developments related to civil society, charity regulation, funding, equity, inclusion and climate-related legislation or sustainability policy, reflecting MCF’s commitment to sector-wide awareness of climate action.

• Assist in drafting policy briefings, consultation responses, evidence submissions, and research summaries.

• Support the Head of Policy & Advocacy in compiling data and insights for reports, position statements and strategic documents. • Conduct desk-based research on thematic issues affecting Muslim-led and minority-led organisations.

• Monitor media commentary relevant to the British Muslim-led Voluntary and Community Sector and contribute to the preparation of responses, in collaboration with the Policy and Communications teams.

2. Advocacy and Influencing Support

• Support engagement with government stakeholders by preparing meeting briefs, background notes, and follow-up materials.

• Help coordinate MCF’s involvement in roundtables, APPG sessions, consultations, and external events.

• Maintain databases of stakeholders including parliamentarians, policymakers, think tanks, regulators and sector partners. • Support public affairs monitoring, including parliamentary questions, debates and committee activity.

• Contribute to MCF’s work on climate action awareness and sustainability by supporting advocacy messaging, stakeholder engagement or policy monitoring relating to sustainable practice across the Muslim charity sector.

3. Engagement with Members and Sector Stakeholders

• Assist in organising policy workshops, training sessions, and capacity-building resources for MCF’s members.

• Help collect insights, feedback and lived experience from member organisations to inform MCF’s policy positions.

• Respond to member enquiries relating to policy, regulation or advocacy support.

• Contribute to resources that help Muslim-led charities navigate regulatory and structural barriers.

• Support member-facing materials and capacity-building related to sustainability, climate awareness, or environmental good practice where required. 4. Communications and Content Support

• Draft accessible summaries of policy developments for newsletters, blogs, briefings or social media (in collaboration with the Communications team).

• Ensure policy messages are communicated consistently and clearly to internal and external audiences.

• Help prepare slides, visuals or short reports for senior-level advocacy engagements.

• Work with the Communications team to cntribute to external messaging that aligns with MCF’s media monitoring, research findings and sector commentary.

5. Administration, Coordination and Reporting

• Provide administrative support for the policy and advocacy workstream, including scheduling, minutes, organisation of meetings and events. • Maintain systems for tracking policy work, research outputs and stakeholder engagement.

• Assist with monitoring, evaluation and reporting on the impact of policy activities.

• Ensure compliance with internal processes and external regulatory requirements (e.g., lobbying regulations).

Person Specification

• Experience (including internships or volunteering) in policy, research, public affairs, community advocacy or a related area.

This is an exciting role leading our committed policy team leading the fight to end child poverty in the UK. The development and implementation of a UK-wide cross-government child poverty strategy means this is a great time to join CPAG as we look to influence policy makers to adopt our evidence-based policy solutions to child poverty.

We are looking for someone to take a lead role in developing evidence-based policy positions to support CPAG’s influencing and campaigns work. You will have knowledge of political processes and how external organisations can effect change. You will have a track record of producing high quality research and analysis, including policy briefings, on social policy issues. You will have experience of managing a small team and working collaboratively to identify policy issues and develop solutions with colleagues across the organisation, as well as externally.

The postholder will be working in a fast moving, high profile and complex policy environment and will need to balance short term priorities with long term objectives. Current priorities include influencing the implementation of the forthcoming child poverty strategy, gathering and sharing analysis and expertise with the DWP as part of their review of universal credit, and monitoring the development of forthcoming changes to disability benefits.

About the Service

Our Peripatetic Team provide front-line support to Solace’s Advice, Community and Accommodation-based Services across London. Crisis Intervention Workers enable our services to deliver a consistent high standard of service.

The team was created in order to have trained, skilled staff ready to cover gaps in service and facilitate the continued smooth running of services, proactively supporting women and children who have experienced domestic abuse.  They are required to go into different teams and quickly establish themselves and provide support in times where staff teams may be struggling.

About the Role

In all services, peri workers provide nonjudgmental, confidential, and psychologically informed support to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse. Typical tasks include risk assessment, safety planning, and working with survivors to develop individual support plans.

Peri workers have the opportunity to work in a variety of roles across Solace’s services. Working across departments offers peri workers the ability to continually develop their knowledge, casework skills, advocacy skills, multi-agency working, and ability to manage and thrive in a changing environment.

The role will involve commuting to sites across London, and although hybrid working may be available in some projects it is not possible for all. Travel is taken into consideration when confirming placements, however you should be prepared for longer commutes.

As a Senior, you will need strong case management and the knowledge and confidence to advise others as you will often be in roles that involve supporting other staff members in their risk management and also career development. Your placements may involve partnership working and process development.

You will line manage up to three Peri employees in this role, so we are looking for someone ready to step in to a leadership role but training is available to develop these skills.

While prior experience of working with survivors of abuse is desirable, it is not a requirement and if you have transferrable skills and a passion for supporting women and children then we would love to hear from you.

You will be a great addition to the Peri Team if you embrace change, have a growth mindset, and are comfortable working independently. Although peri workers are dispersed across different services, the team offers regular opportunities to connect with fellow peri colleagues.

The Global Interagency Security Forum (GISF) is a member-led NGO network working to strengthen security risk management across the humanitarian and development sectors. With over 140 member organisations, GISF provides resources, convening spaces, and expertise to help keep aid workers safe.

About the role

The Administration and Finance Officer plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of GISF’s operations. This role combines core administrative responsibilities with day-to-day financial support, including grant-related bookkeeping, staff timesheet coordination, and invoice tracking. Training will be provided on financial tasks, though some experience is welcome. This role would suit someone looking for flexibility across their week- a suitable working pattern can be negotiated with the successful candidate.

Key responsibilities

Administration & Operations

• Provide day-to-day operational support to the GISF Secretariat,
• Coordination with outsourced service providers (e.g. IT, legal, finance, audit).
• Maintain and update GISF’s policies systems to support efficient operations.
• Manage the GISF office space in London.
• General HR duties, including support to recruitment processes, leave-tracking and onboarding of new staff and consultants.
• Assist with travel bookings, venue arrangements, and logistics for meetings as well as GISF-led external events.
• Administrative support to the board of directors.

Finance

• Support day-to-day financial processes, including coordination of supplier payments and processing staff expense claims.
• Oversee basic bookkeeping functions, including coding of expenses to relevant grants and cost centres.
• Maintain financial records and assist in the preparation of financial reports for donors and management.
• Liaise with GISF’s external accountants or financial service provider to support timely and accurate reporting.
• Coordinate the collection and consolidation of monthly staff timesheets, ensuring correct allocation to grants/projects.
• Prepare and issue invoices; monitor payments and follow up with members as needed.

Person specifications

• Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage logistics, competing priorities, and multiple deadlines.
• Demonstrated experience supporting administrative processes such as scheduling, travel booking, document management, and coordination with external service providers.
• High attention to detail, particularly in maintaining accurate financial and administrative records.
• Confidence working with budgets, invoices, expense tracking, and basic bookkeeping tasks (training can be provided).
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Word) and comfortable learning new systems quickly.
• Experience using digital tools such as CRMs or accounting platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Xero) is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear emails, documents, and reports.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement, and escalate issues appropriately.

Role Overview

The Donor Relations Officer will be responsible for crafting compelling, donor-centred communications that strengthen long-term relationships with partners and supporters, deepen engagement and inspire giving. One of the main areas of responsibility will be to produce proposals and reports for stakeholders, especially strategic partners and donors. The postholder will work closely with the other members of the Marketing and Communications team, as well as collaborating with other departments within the college.  The ideal candidate will have proven experience of producing copy for fundraising and donor relations purposes, and will be a skilled storyteller who can translate the strategic objectives of the college into resonant narratives, understands donor motivations, and writes with clarity, empathy, and purpose.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising & Stewardship Writing

• Develop persuasive and high-quality copy for multi-channel fundraising campaigns (direct mail, email, website, social media etc.)
• Write impact reports and stewardship letters that convey gratitude and demonstrate impact.
• Create case statements, proposals, and presentations for major donor and foundation audiences.
• Oversee the ongoing use of Donorfy CRM to ensure it functions in a way that optimises ANCC's efficiency and makes full use of its functionality; carry out system integrations as needed.

Storytelling & Content Development

• Interview students, alumni, partners, staff and donors to develop authentic, mission-driven stories.
• Adapt organizational content for various donor segments, ensuring a consistent voice and message.
• Collaborate within the Marketing & Communications team to pair copy with strong visuals, and input to other priority projects as required.

Editing & Quality Control

• Proofread and edit donor communications to ensure accuracy, clarity, and alignment with the college ethos and brand guidelines.
• Maintain a consistent, donor-focused tone across all written materials.

Collaboration & Strategy

• Work closely with the members of the Marketing & Communications team to align donor messaging with campaign goals.
• Collaborate with other teams across the college including the Academic, Training and Finance Teams.
• Contribute to the development of content calendars and communication strategies.
• Track and analyse response rates and engagement to inform future copy.

· Fully participate in All Nations community activities when possible.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years’ professional writing experience, preferably in donor relations and fundraising communications.
• Proven ability to write clear, compelling, and engaging copy and marketing materials for diverse audiences.
• Strong interviewing, research, and storytelling skills.
• Excellent editing and proofreading abilities with strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with donor stewardship best practices and fundraising language.
• Experience of producing and tracking fundraising campaigns, tracking impact, reporting and lesson learning.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively present information and engage cross-culturally.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multicultural team and wider organisational departments.
• Experience with CRM or donor database systems.

Preferred:

• Knowledge of direct response fundraising principles.
• Basic understanding of SEO and digital content best practices, and awareness of upcoming trends and changes in the sector, including best use of AI.
• Experience of working with Canva and other document editing software which pair visuals with text.

About The Role

We are looking for an exceptional Senior Philanthropy manager for Trusts and Foundations to join the King’s Maudsley Partnership (KMP) fundraising team and secure significant long-term philanthropic investment for children and adolescent mental health research and treatment.

The King’s Maudsley Partnership will have its home at Pears Maudsley Centre for Children and Young People in south London, opening in early 2026. The partnership brings together clinical and academic excellence in a unique collaboration between the UK’s largest NHS provider of specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services, South London and Maudsley NHS Trust (the Trust), and King’s College London’s Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), the leading child and adolescent mental health research team in Europe – with Maudsley Charity as its charity partner alongside other leading philanthropists.

The Centre has been partly funded by philanthropy via a successful capital campaign secured in excess of £30m, and this role will work with the new Director of King's Maudsley Partnership, Professor Philip Shaw, and colleagues across the Trust, IoPPN, Maudsley Charity and KCL fundraising department to ensure philanthropic income continues to be a significant driver of change.

As Senior Philanthropy Manager for Trusts and Foundations, you will lead on cultivating and stewarding high‑value relationships with charitable trusts and foundations to secure six and seven-figure gifts. The role will focus on developing compelling proposals grounded in evidence and impact, managing a robust pipeline of donors and prospects, and ensuring timely reporting that builds long‑term confidence in our work. You will take a leading role in navigating and maximising the value of a complex institutional and multifaceted partnership, managing multiple stakeholder relationships with professionalism and strategic insight. By aligning funder priorities with our mission to transform children and young people’s mental health, you will drive significant philanthropic income that fuels innovation and accelerates change.

The role is employed by King’s College London and reports to the Associate Director, KMP and will work across the partnership where necessary. We operate a unique and powerful model, which brings together fundraising for our partnership across major and principal gifts, and trusts & foundations, with a developing portfolio of mid-level and corporate supporters.

Our Director leads the team and represents fundraising at the highest levels including reporting at various boards and committees.

This is a hybrid role. However, postholders will be expected to spend at least two days per week onsite at King’s or Maudsley Campus/Pears Maudsley Centre when the Centre opens in 2026,

This is a full-time post (35 Hours per week but candidates wishing to work a 28hr week will be considered). You will be offered an indefinite contract.

About You

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

• Demonstrable experience in fundraising from trusts, foundations and statutory funders, ideally in the Higher Education or health/research sector, with a focus on six and seven figure donations.
• Experience of growing a fundraising pipeline, with an emphasis on building new relationships with previously ‘cold’ prospects and managing a cultivation through to solicitation and stewardship.
• A proven track record of using initiative to secure major grants and donations.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong powers of persuasion.
• Experience in preparing budgets, monitoring project expenditure and delivering clear impact reports

Desirable criteria

• Experience managing complex institutional partnerships
• Knowledge of the UK children’s mental health landscape
