At an exciting and key stage in our journey we have the opportunity for Youth and Community Directors to join our team supporting Oasis’ youth and community work in neighbourhoods in the following regions;
- London and South East (North, Central and South London and Kent - five local Oasis charities)

The Benefits Service within South East London Mind is a well-established offer of support to clients who need to access welfare benefits they are entitled to receive. You will take responsibility for the quality of support the team deliver to ensure it is robust and accountable. We are looking for a creative and strategic communicator with a passion for storytelling. You’ll be experienced in developing integrated campaigns and working across teams to deliver high-impact communications.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop deep insight into at least one portfolio and mission, to enable you to implement effective communications plans for your mission and portfolio, aligned to the corporate plan, and the Fund’s customer journey, including supporting the Strategic Communications Lead to build and manage matrix teams.
- Provide communications support to portfolio and mission leads, including creating messaging, narrative and content, social and brand assets, working closely with colleagues in the wider team to deliver effective and impactful communications activities.
- Build relationships with journalists and lead on devolved media relations activities in your country, working closely with colleagues in the media team to deliver integrated activities, monitoring media and advising on opportunities and risks. Ensure rapid response to emerging issues with processes and protocol on lines to take and spokespeople, including participating in the out of hours on call rota.
- Liaise with colleagues in funding teams to identify opportunities for storytelling, working with the content manager to bring these to life
- Liaise with internal communications colleagues to ensure external communications generate engagement within the Fund

You should have specialist knowledge of digital across a range of techniques and have experience in managing paid-for digital advertising budgets and campaigns. With experience using Content Management Systems (CMS) and of platform analytics tools including Google Analytics, Facebook and X, you should have a sound understanding of an integrated approach to digital marketing and knowledge of data protection best practice and legislation.
A confident communicator with strong analytical, literacy and numeracy skills, you’ll be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a wider team. About the role:
We are looking for passionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Young Person’s Worker in Islington, Camden and Waltham Forest.
In this role, you will have the unique chance to make a lasting impact on young people who are at risk of homelessness, empowering them to build fulfilling, independent lives. Your day to day responsibilities will include managing a caseload of clients, developing personalised support and safety plans, and guiding young people through the process of moving into independent accommodation, employment, and education.
As a Young Person’s Worker, you will work within a trauma informed, strengths based framework, ensuring that the needs and aspirations of each young person are at the heart of your approach. You will act as the lead worker for each individual, supporting them in developing life skills like budgeting, self care, and cooking while helping them access vital services such as mental health support, housing advice, and employment opportunities. Your role will be crucial in motivating and coaching young people to take ownership of their futures, helping them navigate their journey to independence with confidence.

As Policy Manager you will lead Scope’s policy work on tackling the extra costs of disability and reducing the Disability Employment Gap. Working closely with colleagues across the Policy, Research and Influencing team and the wider organisation, you will play a key role in delivering bold policy solutions that help create an equal future for disabled people, in line with Scope’s long-term strategy. You will provide strategic policy leadership, offering expert advice and insight. As the manager for our policy work, you will represent Scope externally and build influential relationships to drive lasting change.

About you
You will:
- Have experience in securing policy change.
- Have detailed knowledge and understanding of how Whitehall works, and you’ll know how to create change.
- Ideally, have experience of working in a large organisation, and you will understand the need for a collaborative approach that works for different audiences.
- Have strong line management experience.
- Be passionate about disability equality and understand the challenges disabled people face. Experience of working with people from marginalised backgrounds would be another advantage.
